A tear rolls down her cheek as she nods. “That’s better. You’re learning, güero.”
“Is that a yes?”
“It’s a hell yes.”
I jump to standing, ignoring the cheers around us. After lifting her off the ground, I kiss her, probably a little too inappropriately for the public. I set her down and grab her hand again, trying to hurry to baggage claim.
“Do you think Fionn could come? Maybe Darla and Jason could bring Baby Reid so they can stand up for us?” she asks, pulling me along.
“We can call them. I bet they will.” I pull her to a stop and cup her cheek. “Thank you.”
She raises an eyebrow. “I already agreed to marry you, Noah. We’re just upping the timeline.”
I smile. “No, I’m thanking you for not making me tell your mama that I knocked up her daughter after living in sin. Her towel beat downs are vicious.”
Her laugh is glorious.
“Let’s go get married, güero.”

Thank you for reading Back Off. I fell in love with Noah when I wrote Loosen Up, and I felt his story needed to be told. He required a heroine worthy of him, and I think the feisty little badass, Cristiana, keeps him in check perfectly. Plus, she’s a dancer whose dream is the same as the dream I had in high school; I had to tap into some personal experiences to help Nana realize hers.
I have to thank Marianne Nowicki at PremadeEbookCoverShop.com for taking the stuff I threw at her and creating this gorgeous cover. I think it’s my favorite ever.
A special thanks to Rebel Nicks O’Dey for all her support, encouragement, and ass kicking.
Also, thanks to Mary Meredith for her absolute awesomasity.
To the Magnificent Seven: thank you for everything. You are friends first… fans second. Thanks for all your help, love, and encouragement throughout my journey as a writer. Some days, you’re the only reason I proceed, and I appreciate it.
And to my family I owe the biggest debt of gratitude for giving me the platitude to balance motherhood and writer with not always the perfect measure. You guys rock.
