Kaylan covered her mouth with her hand.
"I think I'm going to take that job offer from Ed, but on one condition," Zack said, and went over to Kaylan, taking her hands in his.
"What would that be?" Kaylan asked.
"That you run Dux Corp with me."
Kaylan laughed.
"I'm serious. We can do this. I want to do this with you. We can figure out what the Drar left us and share that knowledge with the world and the Alliance. It shouldn't be just for us. You know I'm right—this is what we're meant to do. I can feel it," Zack said.
Kaylan cocked her head, and her glowing brown eyes danced while her full lips blossomed into a wide smile. "Alright, but only if Athena agrees."
They both looked at the small ship that held the keys to immeasurable stores of knowledge.
"We're family, and as long as we work together, we can achieve great things," Athena said.
Zack let out a jubilant howl and picked Kaylan up in his arms. They were home and safe. He couldn't have asked for anything more.
