Chapter 7
Excerpt from Dr. Spriggan’s speech during the annual “Unexplained and Unanswerable” convention.
Despite devoting over three decades of mental, emotional and fiscal energy into my studies of the paranormal, I am dismayed that I have yet to encounter that which I so desperately seek. Nevertheless I continue the chase, hoping someday it will all pay off as I filter through the seemingly endless flotsam of the unexplainable.
There are of course rare gems amongst millions of hoaxes, lies, or ignorance born tales of paranormal encounters but none that have provided me with proof. As soon as I seem to have a beat on something truly authentic like a modern hunter’s detailed description of an Agloolik, or a hospital’s documented case of spontaneous combustion, the trail grows cold or stops completely.
Stubbornly, I refuse to give into self-pity or despair!
I am certain beyond the slightest shadow of a doubt that the paranormal is among us, spilling into our world. We just need to keep seeking, searching and believing that one day we will be the ones lucky enough to witness it in all of its grandeur.
