  “I’ll hold you to that.”

  Merck winked on a smile. “You do that.”

  Merck was making promises Megan was sure he planned to keep.

  He winked at her, said his back to the precinct goodbyes and set off on his journey.

  Megan climbed onto her tricycle and peddled off on the main road leading to Blue Lilly Avenue because her café, Sweet Sensations was calling her home. She was ready to put the finishing touches on one of her biggest self business ownership dreams in her life.

  “What are you waiting for,” her grandmother would always ask her mother. “A miracle? Lightening? A genie in a bottle? None of those are an option in the real world so work on it and make it happen.”

  Her grandmother’s words were always with her even if grand ma Bethany died. Those words were words that kept her going for her goals never realizing that her goals would always lead her home.
