The two briefly embraced then pulled back. “Speaking of family. What’s up with you and Daddy Black?” Kent asked.

  “We met and talked.”

Kent lifted a brow. “Did he have to hem you up again?”

Trent gave him a look. “Don’t do that.” He paused. “It was cool. I mean, he’s still on my shit list but he’s moved down a little.”

Kent laughed. “Well at least you’re talking to him.”

“He could still be my stepdaddy one day,” Kent teased him. “And I don’t want no static in the family.”

“You still play too damn much.”

  Kent grinned. “Lotus likes it.”

Trent shook his head. “Come marry this damn girl before she disappears or something.”

They started walking to the door. “Did you know your nephews can read minds?” Kent asked.

  “Yeah,” Trent answered.

  “What the hell is that?”

Trent looked at him. “That’s not from our side of the family. Your kids will probably fly or something.”

Kent frowned. “Go give your baby some snacks.”

The two headed outside to the beach where the family was gathered. The hotel had set up a beautiful arch covered with Lotus flowers, facing the water. The white covered chairs and decorations were a lovely picture.

Kent took his spot and looked out at his mother, who waved at him. Smiling, he waved back and she beamed. Lily, Lavender, Callie and the kids all sat together while Kent’s family huddled beside them. Kyle sat in between both families and nodded at Kent from his seat.

Trent looked between the two and laughed. “You still mad at him?” he whispered to Kent.

“Nah, we cool. Make sure you take his ass back to LA on your plane.”

Trent laughed as the music started. Everyone turned to see Lotus in a beautiful, flowing white island dress with her feet bare as Sean stood next to her, leading her down the aisle. Lotus connected with happy green eyes and she smiled revealing her dimples. Kent smiled back at her as she drew closer.

Sean handed her off to him at the front and Kent assisted her underneath the bower. Smiling they turned to the Officiator of the ceremony.

Lotus listened intently as the man spoke, but began finding it hard to concentrate. She blinked once, then twice. The sun was shining brightly on her face making her feel extremely warm even in the light fabric of her dress.

Kent watched Lotus’ face and became concerned. “Stop!” he commanded and reached for her.

  “What’s wrong?” he asked frantically.

Everyone stood to their feet looking worried.

  “I…don’t know,” she responded weakly.

As Kent went to pick her up, she turned and released all of her breakfast on both the sand and his shiny black shoes.

Standing, she put a hand to her mouth. “I’m sorry.”

Kent lifted her in his arms and carried her back inside the hotel. Lavender and Vanessa looked at one another then ran to hug each other while everyone else watched.

Lily, meanwhile, looked confused as she watched her sister being carried away from her wedding. Her sons looked at her. “Momma, Auntie Lotus Flower said a bad word that starts with an ‘S’,” Xavier told her.

Alex nodded. “Then she said something about a baby.”

Lily looked at her smiling mother. “It’s a girl!” Lavender announced happily.

Inside the hotel, Kent was directed to a quiet room where he laid Lotus on the bed. Rubbing her head, he looked down at her.

“I guess keeping it a secret until later just went out the window,” Lotus whispered.

Kent sat on the bed. “I never wanted to keep it a secret in the first place, baby. I don’t give a damn about what people say.”

Lotus sighed. “I just wanted to try to be normal for once, I guess, and have a wedding first.”

“Don’t do that.” He touched her face. “I never want us to be normal. I want to do all the weird, wild and crazy shit we can think of to do.”

She smiled and he felt her dimple. “I love these.” He placed a hand on her stomach. “And I love her.”

His eyes held hers. “And I love you.”

Lotus placed her hand over his on her stomach. “This one is going to be just like her Daddy. Showing her ass all over the place.”

He laughed. “I hope she at least has your dimples.”

  “And your pretty eyes.”

“I’m glad I’m trained in weapons, because I’m going to have to shoot somebody over my damn daughter.”

Lotus squeezed his hand. “It’s a good thing both of her parents are Diamonds.”

Kent gave her a look. “Can we finish getting married, since we have all these damn people here?”

She sat up slowly. “I need to wash my face.” Lotus looked down. “And you need to clean your shoes.”

Kent and Lotus returned both barefoot to finish the ceremony which went off without a hitch this time. Kent kissed his bride under the tropical sun to the delight of family and friends. They turned to the family.

“So I guess you all have figured out that Kent and I are expecting,” Lotus said and they all nodded.

Lotus looked up at him. “I just want to say that I’m so happy because I waited for this man to come to me.” She touched Kent’s face and the sun sparkled off of the diamond on her left hand. “And when he came, he brought my every wish.”

Kent smiled and turned to the crowd.

“And I’m so happy to introduce my life, my love, my everything, my wife…Dr. Lotus Masters-Baker.”

Justin stood on the doorstep of the enormous estate. He smiled to himself as he looked at the well-manicured lawn that surrounded the stately home.

The door was opened and a pair of matching dark eyes met his. A slow smile followed and he returned it.

  “Hello Jordan,”

Jordan nodded and took a breath. “Daddy.”

Justin felt a tug at his heart as he was escorted inside the home. He saw the large photo of Jordan and his wife as he passed through the room.

“You can have a seat,” Jordan offered. “Sage will be down with the kids in a minute.”

Both men sat and looked at one another. “Thank you Jordan, for agreeing to let me meet them.”

“They’re your grandkids and you’re the only grandfather they have,” Jordan told him.

“It means a lot to me that you would let me become a part of their lives,” Justin said quietly.

Jordan shook his head. “We’ve been separated long enough.”

“I missed you son,” Justin whispered.

Jordan let out a breath. “If I’m honest, I missed you too.” He looked up as Diamond ran into the room. She looked from Justin to her father, then quickly moved to her Daddy’s side.

“The Gods!” she exclaimed. “He looks like you and Justice, Daddy!”

Jordan laughed. “I know pretty little girl.”

“Daddy, this is Diamond.” He looked down at his daughter. “This is your Granddaddy Justin.”

Diamond continued to study Justin as Sage entered the room with Justice and Jade.

“Look Justice, he looks just like Daddy…if Daddy was real old.”

Sage and Jordan looked at one another. “Diamond,” Sage cautioned.

Justin laughed. “It’s okay.” He winked at Diamond and she smiled. “I am old enough to be her Granddaddy.” He stood to his feet and walked over to Sage.

“My son is very, very lucky man to have such a lovely wife who’s given him all these beautiful children.” He brought her hand to his mouth. “You are truly a treasure from a distant land.”

Sage lifted a brow at the smooth baritone then looked at her husband. “That is your Daddy.”

Jordan chuckled. “Yeah, the Black Magic is real.”

Justin then looked at little Jade on her mother’s hip. “She looks so much like Chloe.”

Jordan and Sage nodded as t
he little girl waved at Justin. “We said the same thing the first time we met Chloe,” Sage said holding the pretty toddler.

Justice looked up at Justin and frowned. “What’s the matter Justice?” Justin asked.

“Why do you look like my Daddy?” he asked in his five-year old voice.

Jordan moved over to his son. “Because this is my Daddy, just like I’m your Daddy.” He kneeled down to his level. “He’s Justin Black, I’m Jordan Black and you’re Justice Black.”

  Justice smiled. “We’re all Blacks.”

Justin agreed. “And nothing will ever change that. No matter what is about to come…”

  The end for now…
