That reminds me.
“We should get ready. Celebrity Weekly will be here in an hour to set up.”
The penthouse looks immaculate. The flowers, a perfect touch. We’re getting good at conducting interviews in our home. We recently invited TMZ in for a home tour, though of course they were most interested in Brooklyn’s closet, the kitchen, and how we felt about Monica Shore staying on at DRM. We were tactful, but ultimately didn’t have much to say about it. Monica may still be modeling, but her underhandedness ruined her image, and once her contract with us is up, she’ll have a hard time finding another one.
Of all the interviews we’ve done lately, I’m the most excited about the one coming up.
She puts the magazine away and looks at the dog. “Well, we do have one more thing we should do before they get here. After all, open communication applies to everyone in the house.”
I take her hand and pull her in for a kiss, letting my lips linger on her mouth before leading her to the couch. “Come here, Mr. Kibbles. We all need to have a little chat.”
The dog jumps between us, panting. Brooklyn scratches behind his ears. “We have some big news, Kibs.” The gentle singsong tone of her voice gets him very excited. He perks up, his ears arching. He stops panting as if to listen, and I take his face in my hands.
“You’re going to be a big brother, bud! What do you think about that, huh?”
Mr. Kibbles puts his ears down and resumes panting, then jumps down and plops on the floor with his head on his paws. I look at Brooklyn and we both start to laugh. I guess the dog’s not too thrilled about baby Zoric just yet, but we’re overjoyed.
And the maternity shoot taking place today will announce that joy, and our undying love, to the world.
We can’t wait.
