He pulled her onto his body before taking her mouth in a deep kiss. A sigh came out before she began to move on his body. It was a little shimmy that had his cock thickening. She liked it so much she did it again. He placed his hand on her rear to try to hold her still. When those strong lean fingers began to massage the globes of her ass, she almost lost it.
“You like that.” His whispered words drew a moan of agreement from her.
“I want to visit the sun again. I don’t think I got the complete tour.” He spun her around laying her on the pad beneath them so fast her head almost spun. She did let out a high trickle of laughter. There was something about seeing him this way. He was enthralled with her and at the same time, she could see the complete disbelief that he got to touch her, love her. In his eyes, she was beautiful. His alien power must have been allowing others to see themselves as he saw them because she saw herself as beautiful.
His hands roamed her taking her shirt off then her bra. She stopped him to take off his shirt stripping it up his torso and over his head to reveal row after row of well-formed muscle. This male was beautiful.
Her hands slowly played with his chest something she didn’t get a chance to do last night. This she could do every night for the rest of her life. She flicked his nipple then rubbed it carefully. His eyes were on her arresting her with their brightness and something else, a dark look. Was that fear she saw on his face?
“Locke, what’s wrong?” He shook his head but didn’t say anything. “Talk to me, baby, please.”
He knelt over her like an unmoving tower but said nothing. Not knowing what to do she took the poor nipple she flicked into her mouth sucking it making sure not to touch him with her teeth. She ran her hand down the other side of his chest in a soothing motion until he unfroze.
When his body was no longer stiff, she pulled him close to her before she rolled him over onto his back. Wrapping her arms around him she held him close. She didn’t ask again she knew what was wrong. Abuse, she couldn’t wrap her head around it, but it happened every day.
“I won’t hurt you. If I do something you don’t like tell me. We don’t have to do anything we can lay here and enjoy each other’s company.”
She shivered when his fingers found her neck leaving little trails of fire down it.
“It’s been a very long time since I enjoyed a female’s company. It happened maybe once.” She tried to control her breathing, not wanting him to know how livid she was. “Males like me are not born we’re not considered to be natural. That makes us worthy of abuse. We are not allowed to raise a hand to a born not that any of us would ever hurt a female.”
They could hurt him. She understood the unspoken words. When would people begin to understand that the most important thing walking your planet are the people?
He nuzzled her neck driving thoughts of what he might have endured away as she allowed herself to enjoy the feel of him kissing her neck.
“Locke, you don’t have to.”
“I enjoyed our night together.” His voice was rough in her ear, making her body twitch with need.
“I enjoyed it too.” He turned back over and pulled her on top of him, giving her access to his body.
“You know how you loved me last night, taking me on a tour of the solar system. Has anyone done that for you? Have they allowed you to selfishly enjoy being worshipped?” His eyes widened at the thought. With a shake of his head, he answered her question.
She grinned at him a wicked look in her eyes before she traced his shoulders, loving how strong they were. She nipped at them with teasing bites meant to increase his desire but not give any pain. Her male had enough pain in his life.
With slow deliberate licks, she made her way to his pecs, she blew on them liking the way he shivered. When she made her way to his nipples, she stopped to give him a look of appreciation before using her tongue to flick over them one at a time until they hardened. Locke’s breathing came faster as she took the first one in her mouth, her fingers playing with the other one.
Her free hand worked its way down his side her fingers lightly caressing him, teasing him. The more she worked her fingers the more he tried to move his body closer to her hand begging for more contact.
“You liked to be touched, don’t you?” she looked up into his eyes that were starting to glaze over part of it was lust. The smile she felt couldn’t be held back, the other part was need. Hell, she knew how that felt. That desire for the person you are with to need you as badly as you need them.
She switched to his other nipple sucking in harder because she knew he would like the feeling. When she was done, they stood up small and perky with a deeper gray color to them. Amazing.
“I want you,” she whispered between kisses as she made her way down his body.
“I need you,” she licked at his abs. “I want you to feel the same pleasure I feel when you touch me.”
He whimpered, and she kept going. His small sounds were music to her ears. Her own body was begging with need but not this time she told herself. Her male, because it seemed she was claiming him, needed her.
It wasn’t until she got down to where she expected a trail of hair to be that she realized it wasn’t there. He had darker gray spots done in what looked like some ancient tribal design. Her fingers trailed over them before she kissed each one.
His moans turned into growls of need as he thrust his hips up. They were sensitive, he liked her playing with them. She licked and blew on them watching as his mouth opened making panting sounds as his fingers curled in her hair even as he tried to make his hand let go.
“Stop fighting it,” her voice was husky to her ears. “Let it go, relax, enjoy.”
She was enjoying and hadn’t even gotten to the main attraction. How could making him feel good make her feel so good? Her nipples were hard and begging to be touched. Her pussy was wet and needing to be filled. More than that her heart was overflowing. Loving him was touching a place deep inside of her that needed this kind of fulfillment. The knowledge that she was special to someone else was amazing.
She licked down his trail until the waist of his jeans stopped her. Darn pants! Her fingers fumbled with the button and then the zipper. She was desperate to see, touch, and taste him.
“Lift up.” She pulled his jeans and boxers down. He kicked his shoes off and then his clothes.
His cock was standing straight up ready to greet her.
“Beautiful,” she licked her lips meeting his eyes before she focused on his cock. Her finger trailed down the length of it watching a bead of cum pool at the tip. It wasn’t the white she expected, it had tinges of his skin tone in it. That made her want to taste it even more.
“Come to momma,” she bent her head to lick it off. “Yum.”
Opening her mouth wide she took the head in. Locke spoke rapidly in a different language. She smirked around his cock sucking nice and hard. His hand flew to her hair as she took another inch in swallowing him slowly. He was thick, working her mouth over him took time. She wanted to suck every inch of him in, but there was no way all of him was going down her throat.
Taking her hands, she began to work his shaft and then play with his balls. She sucked until he couldn’t help it, shallowly thrusting up trying to keep a lock on his body. The more he tried to be calm the harder she sucked his cock. The flavor and scent of black licorice and pumpkin spice were making her higher on his taste.
His hand clenched her hair tight as his hips thrust up. Unable to help himself his words came louder and faster. She knew what was going to happen from the way his spine started to stiffen, and his legs shook. If she could she would stick her hand down her pants, but she was to invested in his pleasure and the need to taste him. She wanted to see him fly and knew she was the reason it happened.
“Ava please,” the sound of his voice begging her was the last straw. She sucked him back in while her hands worked his length. A mangled growl came from him as he flooded her mouth with his warm seed. She swal
lowed enjoying the taste of him.
When he finally let go of her she licked her lips trying to get the last of his seed. He lifted and kissed her tasting what she tasted and sharing himself with her in another way.
Moments like this launched a thousand ships, it started and stopped wars. She laughed at her whimsy before snuggling close to him. Content to feel his contentment.
Chapter Eleven
One day turned into two and before she knew it, Ava spent two weeks with Locke at his house getting to know him, Mira, and his brothers. So far, she hadn’t regretted a minute of that time.
She entered the kitchen when her cell phone began to ring. She frowned, wondering who was calling her.
“You should answer that, it’s probably important,” Ven told her with his blue eyes twinkling.
“Hello?” She relaxed when she heard Troy’s voice. “Hey, how are you? Did you call because you missed me?”
She frowned and nodded her head even though he couldn’t see her. When she hung up, she plopped down into a chair.
“Everything ok?” Locke was stroking his hand across her neck.
“That was Troy, he’s a friend. Owns a bar in town. He called to say—”
“I know Troy. I used to work for him, dancing at his bar, which is more of a club.”
“You know Troy?”
“Yeah?”
They stared at each other. It wasn’t too far-fetched that they would know the same person but when you threw in the fact that she was a psychic and Mira an empath it did make her wonder.
“I interrupted keep going.”
Ava stood pacing looking back and forth between Locke and Mira.
“I’ve known Troy for some years. I don’t know why, but whenever he’s around, he stops the voices in my head. According to him, I need an anchor. He believes my anchor will be my mate, someone who will always stop the noise. Stopping the noise isn’t enough that’s what he called to tell me. I have to learn how to turn it on and off at will. What good is being a psychic, if I can’t use it?”
“You’ve been alone in your head for the last two weeks?”
Ava stopped pacing, nodded at Mira’s question then started again. She had been alone for two wonderful blissful weeks. The only thoughts she heard were her own. After the initial day, then the second came the shock. The reality that she was never going to hear anyone else again. Funny she went through the stages of grief in about a week. As much as she wanted the freedom of her own thoughts, it felt like a part of her died. She didn’t want to equate it to losing a limb or a sense but that’s what happened. Knowing what was going on around her protected her most of her life just like it haunted her.
“Now what?” Locke stopped her pacing by taking her into his arms.
“Now I have a choice,” she snuggled up against his chest. “I can walk away from this psychic thing or I can embrace and learn to use it to my advantage.”
“Why would you walk away from it?” She met Ven’s eyes. He was asking the same question she asked herself.
“To deliberately stay psychic is to take advantage of people.”
“Did you tell that to the savant who is a genius with numbers and makes his money that way? What should we do with the lawyer with the photogenic memory?”
“Or the empath who made a fortune understanding other’s emotions,” Mira threw her two cents in helping Ven out.
“Ava you have a gift. The question is what will you do with that gift.”
Leave it to her male to break it down. This wasn’t about her being psychic it was about her. The fact that she was psychic was just a small part of who she was. Two weeks ago, she wouldn’t have understood that.
“I want to learn how to control it.”
“After breakfast, you and I will go into town.” Mira took her chair, reaching for the platter of eggs. “That way you can work on turning your gift on and off without Locke around it will be easier.”
“We’re going into town?”
“Not you love,” Mira told Tristan. “We’ll be okay by ourselves and look I have you on speed dial.”
“Which won’t mean anything if the Shadows catch you alone.”
“Tristan has a good point. That’s why I’m going along.” They all groaned at Ven sure he was up to something.
“Sorry Ven girls day out.” Mira shut him down.
“Well that’s settled I’m starving,” Ava started piling her plate with food.
When breakfast was over, she showered dressed and took some time to kiss Locke. He hadn’t protested but by the stiffness of his body, she knew he was scared. It had taken her only the two weeks they had been together for her to figure out how much death he had seen in his previous life. It wasn’t just death; it was loss. He had seen too many of the people he fought with die. She learned fast that no one cared about them. They would rather write a life off than try to save it. The fact that Tristan was a doctor and did his best to save lives was amazing where he came from.
“I’m going to be okay, baby.” She was still trying to figure out a love name for him. Baby didn’t seem to fit, but it was all she could say when she opened her mouth. “I’m going to be with Mira, and you know she knows the lay of the land.”
“I know, be careful.”
“I will.” She went to her tiptoes to kiss him. Together they walked outside.
Mira was driving a heavy-duty SUV; the outside looked normal the inside looked like it was built for combat.
“I used to have this cute little SUV.” She pulled out the driveway. “Tristan wouldn’t let me drive it alone. Something about and I quote ‘What if it goes off the road over an embankment? What of the Shadows catch you alone? This thing you call a car will never hold up.’ Sigh! It wasn’t worth the argument, besides his peace of mind means a lot to me. So, I ended up with this. It’s kind of kick ass though.”
“I like it. It does look like it could drive through a desert and come out intact on the other side.”
“It can, believe me. It’s a custom design. With Tristan being a healer and the others having spent a lot of time in the ground I would never have thought they could design this. Turns out they did more than fight on their ship.”
“Do you know where their world is?”
“No, they don’t talk about it. They don’t want anyone to remember them or come looking for them. I think after all this time they are presumed dead, but Tristan doesn’t agree. Honestly, he knows better than me. I’m thinking in human terms, he’s not human.”
“Does it freak you out that he’s not human?”
“It did a little when I first got with him. It was something I wrestled with but only when I was alone.”
“Why when you were alone?”
“I spent too many years helping kids that parents threw away because they weren’t what they wanted. I didn’t want to throw away someone because they weren’t what I wanted or in this case what I expected.”
“Excellent description. I didn’t think I wanted anyone not really and then there was Locke. Did you know his name on the dating website was Nobody’s Prince? Every Disney movie prince should be based on him. He’s noble, protective, hot, a total badass fighter, and he cares.”
Mira laughed the musical sound of it made Ava laugh.
“I think someone has been bitten with the Kur’ik love bug.”
“I’m a goner.” They laughed again before turning the music up and starring in their own private musical video.
Mira pulled into a parking lot in the center of downtown. “I know it’s crowded around here but I’m counting on that to reduce the chance of running into the Shadows.”
There was some sort of festival going on. They left the lot and mingled with the pedestrians already buying food and laughing at shows and street vendors.
Ava knew it was up to her now. There had to be a way to turn on her abilities as well as turn them off or at least turn them down. That made more sense, she needed a way to let her mind shift through what was happ
ening around her without her having to focus on it. She tried imagining a door that she could open and close, nothing. A brick wall with a little hole in it to let the voices in.
They walked around for some time as she imagined all kinds of building materials that didn’t seem to want to work for her. She got so frustrated she even imagined a car and opening the door. When that didn’t work, she saw herself collapsed in the seat. Habit made her reach for the radio she turned it on disappointed that it was a talk show.
The thoughts of those around her rushed into her head. She got so dizzy she had to lean against a lamp post.
“I did it!” She grinned at Mira. It was only step one, but it was a start.
What next? She could already feel the voices trying to take her over. Then she felt something else it was the presence of Locke in her mind. He was like a Shadow, but it gave her the focus she needed. Reaching out she turned down the dial like it was a radio. A sigh of relief left her. Then she practiced turning it off and on. She had this.
“Why don’t you take a break and we get some lunch?” Mira’s voice startled her. She looked around and realized that it had been hours not minutes since she started the process. She was sitting on a bench with Mira plastered to her side.
“You’d be amazed at the number of men that wanted to talk to you. I decided to send out clear signals that you were taken.”
That was one saying that must be true. When you already have a man or male in her case all the other men suddenly notice you.
“Food would be good I’m exhausted. I had no idea that dealing with my gift could be this tiring.” They were walking down the street looking for the right vendor to buy their lunch from.
“It will, in the beginning, after you’ve done it for a while it’ll be like walking.”
“Good to know. Now all I have to do is find a way to keep the line open but muted so that I’m only picking up things that I need to know. Not every stray thought, like how that man thinks your ass is nice.”
