The Homestead Page 20

by G R Higginbotham

“You’re not that slow, after all.” she said. “And I’m definitely never wearing gray again.”

Author Acknowledgements: This book is obviously a work of fiction. The science inside is based on current theories of terraforming, but is amplified to compensate for unknown future advances. I would like to thank the people who offered insight, suggestions, and editing advice. You were all extremely helpful, and any lack of clarity or storytelling is completely my own fault for not listening. These people include Matt Angell, Cody Fox, Jon Deline, and Lamar Giles. Not included on that list is my wife, Heather Higginbotham, who gets special notice for somehow walking that thin line between critic and spouse without ever hurting my feelings. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’d also like to thank Josh and Chuck, Martha and Grant, Grant and Brooke, Sarah Werner, Andy Chamberlain, and Adam and Ben (I’ll do my best to make sure you two get killed in the next one). Thank you to my father for typing my first three books during middle school. Finally, I’d like to thank my mother for allowing me to have access to her bookcase as I was growing up. I still have some of your books. You’re never getting them back. They’re stuck between Robert Howard and Lew Wallace.
