“Nonsense.” Emeline waved her hand in dismissal. “Lucinda is a fine name. I would be happy to use it.” She smiled at him. “I’d be pleased to honor her.”
Leo’s throat tightened and squeezed her hand in silent confirmation. There was no need for words, for he knew without a doubt that she understood him as no other ever could.
“I will love you forever, too,” she said.
And he had no doubt she would.
