Izza had her own battle to fight. With Fitz. But she wasn’t ready to meet him on the flight deck. Not just yet.
Unwilling to go forward, she was rooted to the open hatchway, staring out at the bay entrance, willing her new marine contingent to appear, sprinting for the ship.
But no one came.
“Come on!” she shouted at her missing crew. “Where are you?”
Outside, the station continued to call its people to war.
