“Knowing the type of women you attract, she won’t care.” She powered my phone off. “Plus, she can’t be that important. She doesn’t even have your personal line.” Chance then slipped my phone into her pocket.
I chuckled.
“Feel like getting beat in pool?” She asked, already grabbing a stick.
I sat both glasses on the wood grain of the table. “You know you can’t fuck wit’ me.” Pulling my shirt over my head, I tossed it onto a chair.
Chance smacked her lips. “I taught you how to play. Act brand new if you want.”
I smiled ‘cause it was some truth to that.
“I’ll even let you go first.” I watched as she set the back game up.
Cocky ass...
I grabbed a cue. “If I go first, you might not get a turn.”
When she tossed her head back and laughed, I laughed too. Chance’s energy was magnetic like that.
“You beat me once, and won’t let it go.” She shook her head. “And I let you win.”
“Yeah, yeah.” I moved around the table.
Chance stepped back to let me break the balls. “True...”
“Wassup?”
“Why did you want me to take pictures with you and the kids?”
Knocking a striped ball in I stood up straight. “’Cause I wanted one with my family.”
She leaned on her stick. “People are going to think we’re together. We already stay with you.”
I shrugged. “So. And you don’t stay with me. We live together.”
“Same thing.”
“No, it ain’t.” When I missed my shot, I glanced in her direction. “You staying with me would mean this ain’t yo’ shit; us living together would me this is yours just as much as it is mine.”
“I sleep in a guest bedroom.” She giggled preparing for her shot.
“That’s by choice.” I reminded her forgetful ass.
When she moved in I asked her to sleep in my room with me. Chance insisted it wasn’t healthy for our relationship. After making sure the room she picked wasn’t the same one Nisha slept in, that’s the one she’d been living in. I still ended up in the bed with her and Carlee some nights, though. I loved waking up to them.
Chance took her time and knocked in three balls before she missed.
Cheating ass.
“I found a condo in Lee’s Summit.” She picked her glass up, took a sip and then put it back down. “I’m going to look at it Wednesday.”
I sat my cue down, and made my way over to her. Picking Chance up, I placed her gently on top of the table. We stared into each other’s eyes for a minute before I kissed her lips softly.
“I don’t want you to go.” I didn’t give a fuck how desperate I sounded. I needed Chance and Carlee at home with me.
Chance wrapped her arms around my torso. “If I stay, it’ll further complicate things.”
I kissed her again, and then bit down softly on her bottom lip, “Stay.”
“I can’t.”
“You can.”
“And then what? You have in-house pussy while you continue to run the streets being a dog?”
“Not if you stay.”
Chance’s head swayed as a long breath slipped through her lips. “True...”
“What?” I sucked down on her neck, gripping the waistband of her sweats.
“I don’t think you understand what me staying means.” She huffed.
“Tell me then.” I slipped her sweats down her legs and completely off. Tossing them, I stood back directly in between her thick thighs. “What you want?” Her body trembled lightly when my tongue slid across her chest.
“I wanna be the only one.”
I pulled her sports bra over her head and freed her titties. I sucked down gently on her nipple before twirling my tongue around her areola. Chance’s heart rate sped up as I removed her panties. Once she was completely naked, I stepped back to take a good look at my baby.
She didn’t shy away only making my dick harder.
“I want you to promise right here, right now, that I’m not making a mistake if I do choose to stay.” She jumped down from the table and unbuckled my belt. When Chance stood on her tippy toes to give me a kiss, she slipped her tongue into my mouth. All while undoing my clothes.
“I promise.” I whispered, and she spun around; bending over, arching her back perfectly. Gently grabbing the ponytail in her head, I pulled her head back. “You stayin’?”
Instead of replying, Chance reached back, grabbed my dick and guided me to her opening. I slid in slowly, enjoying how tight and wet she was. Biting down on my bottom lip, I deep stroked her. When she started throwing that pussy back, I let go of her hair and grabbed two handfuls of her ass.
“Mmmm...” She moaned.
Pulling out some, I slammed back into her gushy center.
“Fuck...” her arch deepened.
I pounded Chance’s pussy like a nigga was fresh out of prison, and she took that shit like a pro. I didn’t even try to hide the whimper that escaped me as she fucked me back. I raised her left leg and put it on the table, so I could get more access to her. My baby’s arch stayed perfect, but her moans got louder. I wrapped both hands around her neck making sure to hit the bottom of her pussy.
“True...” her body tensed, and I knew she was cumming.
I leaned forward and sucked on her earlobe. “I’m right here, baby.”
Chance’s pussy muscles constricted around my dick making me weak in the knees. I fucked her slowly as she came down from her orgasm. She mumbled some incomprehensive shit and I chuckled. Pulling her body up, I then helped her off the table. Turning Chance around, I picked her up and slid her back down my dick.
“You love me?” I pulled her lips into mine.
Chance nodded with her eyes closed.
“Say it.” I fucked her harder.
“Sshiit.” Her hold on me tightened. “I love you, Trueee...” Her body trembled. “I’m cumming again.”
“Me too, baby.” I squeezed her ass cheeks.
“True, you gotta pull out.” She whined.
I silenced her with a kiss and ignored her. This was my pussy. And I was gon’ do whatever the fuck I wanted with it. Which is why when she came, I was right behind her; emptying my seeds all in her.
“True.” I could hear the pout in her voice.
I chuckled setting her back down on the pool table. “You better hurry up and get some birth control.” I kissed Chance’s mouth not caring about her attitude.

“Chance somebody at the door.” Chase ran into the room. He jumped on the bed next to Carlee and kissed her cheek.
I was in the middle of moving my clothes to True’s room. Despite the sudden leap we were taking, I had faith in us. Yes, things could be better, and no I didn’t think his other baby mamas would make the transition easy. But I refused to focus on the negative and the naysayers. Because there were a ton of positives about being in an official relationship with my best friend.
Picking Carlee up, I followed Chase downstairs. “Where’s Rajon?”
“Playing the game.” He answered with his phone to his ear. “I was talking to my Godmom.” Chase told his caller before taking off in the opposite direction.
Shaking my head at his little mannish self, I looked through the peephole. Seeing my mother on the opposite side of the door worried me immediately. I’d taken the day off and she knew that. Unlocking one of the double doors, I pulled it open. Pushing the glass screen open, I stepped back to let her in. Her puffy red eyes told me this visit was about to be an emotional one.
“Mommy?”
She shut the door behind her. “I’m sorry to just drop by. I just needed some air.” We shared a side hug.
“What’s the matter?” The last time I’d seen my mother look this upset, my brother Christian had been killed in a hit and run.
“Can you pour me a g
lass of wine?”
I nodded. “Sure.” Leading the way to the kitchen, I looked down at Carlee in wonderment. And then fear kicked in. “Mommy—"
“They’re fine.” She chuckled lightly. “Besides Tyriq somehow breaking both of his legs. Your brothers are alright.”
I sighed.
“Where’s True?”
“I’m not sure.” I didn’t feel the need to keep tabs on True. He was a grown man living a fast lifestyle. As long as he answered when I called and checked in once or twice that was enough for me.
My mommy found a seat at the island removing her coat, and I went to the refrigerator.
“Your dad’s having another affair.”
No...
Silently, I grabbed a bottle of wine. The room stayed quiet as I prepared us both a glass. The last time my daddy cheated it almost broke my mother. They’d spent a ton of money on counseling. At one point I thought they would never work through it.
Placing a wineglass in front of my mommy, I handed Carlee to her.
“I can’t keep doing this with him.” She shook her head taking a sip. “I’ve given that man over thirty years of my life. Thirty.” My mother grumbled. “And five outside babies and two STD’s later, he’s still on the same shit.”
Tears blurred my vision. I hated seeing my mother so hurt. Her usual warm, welcoming eyes were dark and empty.
“I’ve done everything in my power to make it work. But I can’t be the only one fighting for us.” She quickly swiped a tear that fell. “I have to walk away this time.”
“Mommy...”
“Chance.” She interrupted me. “He hasn’t given me much of a choice. He’s abusing my love. And if I continue to let this go on, what example would I be setting for you?”
I stared down at Carlee.
“He hasn’t learned his lesson. So, one step at a time, I must walk away from this toxic relationship.” When my mother finished off her glass, she motioned for the bottle. “You wanna know how I found out?”
Not really.
I refilled her glass.
“He bought her a fifteen-thousand-dollar ring, using money out of our joint bank account.”
My throat tightened.
“The bastard used my money, to buy her an engagement ring.”
I had to take a seat after hearing that. I had no idea my father could be so heartless. I mean, I knew he had an evil streak, but not to this extent.
“I asked him to leave the house, but he won’t. Can you believe he had the nerve to ask me if we could work it out?” She tossed back her drink nearly finishing it. “Said he had a ‘weak’ moment.”
After taking Carlee, I bounced her while trying to wrap my mind around the whole situation.
“I told him to take his weak ass to her and leave me alone.” My mom chuckled softly. “I wanted to hit him over the head with a cast iron skillet.”
It wasn’t funny, but I tittered lightly. I couldn’t see my mother harming anyone. She was way too sweet and patient. She apologized whenever she raised her voice, so her knocking my daddy upside the head wasn’t happening; no matter how mad she got. But then again, he proposed to another woman, so anything was possible.
“You can stay here.” I offered lowly. “I can get you a room set up. I know True won’t mind.”
She sighed. “I’m not letting him run me out of my home, Chance. When I get back all of his things better be packed. And if they’re not, I’ll just wait until he leaves for work and have the locks changed.”
Carlee cooed, and my mother smiled.
“I’m sorry for messing up your mood. You’re just the only person I trust to be this open with.”
Getting down from my seat I pulled her into hug. “Mommy, you don’t have to be sorry. I’m glad you came.” I preferred my mother confiding in me instead of her messy sisters. And it made me feel good that she trusted me as much as I trusted her.
“Thank you for listening. Sometimes you just need an ear. Ya know?”
I nodded knowingly.
“So, what’s new with you, baby?” She held her arms out for Carlee.
“I’m staying here.” Passing her over, I grabbed my glass.
Huh?” My mother nuzzled Carlee loving, warming my heart.
“Me and True. We’re together now.”
Her eyes snapped in my direction. “Chance...”
“Mommy...”
“What brought this on?” Her eyes glazed over with a hint of amusement.
I shrugged. “We just feel like it’s time.”
“It’s been time. I just want you to be smart enough to walk away the instant you feel misused and unappreciated.” Her stare hardened. “Am I making myself clear?”
I picked my wineglass up. “Crystal.”
True
“Wassup, Jaliyah?” Even though Chase was at my house, Jaliyah texted me 911. So, before I charted the jet for Vegas, I wanted to check in with my baby mama.
She rolled her eyes before stepping to the side to let me in. “Where’s Chase?”
“At home with Chance.”
After shutting the door Jaliyah walked past me. “Oh...her.”
I frowned. Out of all my baby mamas, Jaliyah had been the one to give Jelly the least amount of trouble. Shit, to be honest Jaliyah being cool with Chance had always made my life that much easier. But I assumed just like the others, she couldn’t handle my baby finally taking that number one spot.
“So y’all in a relationship now?”
“As a matter of fact, we are.”
Jaliyah stopped in tracks her, and spun around. “What?” She placed her hands on her hips as she looked me up and down. “Are you serious?”
I nodded.
“But...” Jaliyah shook her head. “It’s that easy to choose?”
“Jaliyah, man.”
“No, True. I’m still trying to figure out why her?” Her lips pursed. “What about Chance is so fuckin’ special?!”
“Aye, I didn’t come here for all that. You asked a question and I gave yo’ ass a answer.”
“I was first. I gave you your first child. For eight years I’ve had to watch you be with other women, knowing what we had didn’t get a fair shot!”
“Lower your voice.”
“Fuck you!”
I ran my hand across my waves. “You trippin’.”
“I am?” When she started crying, I sucked my teeth. “You let her name my son, True. Do you know how hurtful that is? That bitch is Chase’s god-mom. I treated that muthafucka with so much respect, and the whole time she was fuckin’ my baby daddy.”
“This why you called me here? ‘Cause this shit ain’t an emergency.” I could’ve been on my way to Vegas right now.
Jaliyah took a seat on the steps. “I love you, True. Why won’t you give us a try? We already have a son together. It’s like you look right past me every time. There shouldn’t have been no Quindelle and damn sure not no Nisha. Now Chance?”
Scratching my forehead, I widened my stance. “Fuck you doin’ all this for?”
“You are a selfish, inconsiderate, scandalous ass nigga.” She shot back. “You fuck me every other week and don’t know why I feel the way I do?” Jaliyah asked in disbelief.
“We ain’t fucked in months, shorty. And you worried about the wrong shit. Try being a full-time mother to your son. You so busy running the streets you not even seeing the effect it’s having on my boy.”
I was no dummy. Which was why Chase staying in trouble was a reflection of his upbringing. His daddy was a gangster and his mama was a fucking alcoholic. He was the oldest of four kids who all had different mamas. So, a lot of the time Chase acted out for attention.
“Chase is all right.” Jaliyah waved me off. “This isn’t about him.”
“When it should be.” I mugged her simple-minded ass. “Yo, Jaliyah, why am I here?”
“Because, I’m struggling.”
“With what?”
“True, I wanna open my own business.”
I shook my head no.
“See what I mean? I’m trying to better myself, but you won’t support me!” She sneered. “I bet if my name was Chance I’d get a different response.”
“Jaliyah, you’re irresponsible as fuck. You don’t know shit about running a business. What’s your business plan? What are you selling?” I decided to bite the bait.
“I don’t know yet.” Her slow ass said with a straight face. “But I think I want a nail salon.”
“You think?” I scoffed. “So, basically you wasting my time, shorty.” I turned around ready to leave.
“I’m asking you to help me turn my life around, but instead you turn your back on me?!” She cried.
Pulling the front door open I didn’t even bother acknowledging her.
“True!” Jaliyah followed me out of her house. “At least let me hold something.”
“Get a job.” I spoke over my shoulder.
“Doing what?! I’m not good at anything! I’ve never had a job. True, I want to do better, but I don’t know where to start.”
I faced her.
“Everyone around me is doing something.” She swiped her cheeks. “You think I like being labeled the baby mama that drinks and is always in jail?” Jaliyah sniffled. “Chase looks up to a bitch that I can’t stand. And I hate it!”
“Go back to school, then Liyah! Start by getting your G.E.D, shorty. I get that you’re tired of doing the same old shit, but I’m not handing you a bunch of money just because. You don’t even know what you wanna do with it, besides jump start a half ass business.”
Her shoulders dropped.
“And Chance ain’t done shit for you not to like her. You, Quin, and Nisha gon’ have to take that L.” I flexed. I was tired of repeating myself when it came to my Jelly. My woman.
Jaliyah sighed.
“Go back and get your G.E.D and we’ll go from there. If I see you’re serious, I’ll see what I can do for you.” I stared down at her. “A’ight?” I respected Jaliyah for wanting to better herself.
“A’ight.” She mumbled. “I’ll come get Chase tonight.”
“Call him and see if he’s ready, if not leave him where he’s at.”
