“But whose dick is being gripped by your soaking wet pussy right now? Whose about to make you come?”

I couldn’t respond. He applied more pressure to my clit, forcing me into an orbit of pleasure I couldn’t escape. I contracted around him, moaning through unshed tears.

“There you go,” he encouraged. “This is mine. You’re fucking mine.” His hand left my hair to wrap around my throat, his pace picking up. I felt as if I was going to suffocate. Skin slapping against skin echoed in my ears. Dots began to swarm before my eyes. My lungs burning, he choked me as he fucked me. A fuzzy, warm sensation started creeping through my veins.

A guttural curse was the last thing I heard before a curtain fell over my brain and everything went blank.

  CHAPTER FOUR

  Jace

I cradled her to my chest as if she were a precious piece of glass.

But that wasn’t the case with Raelynn. She was precious, but she was from fragile. Her porcelain skin was a tad marred and bruised, but nothing permanent. I liked seeing the outline of my fingers on her throat.

Emerging through the exit, I was met by Kaiden and Portia. My brother eyed his doll with a frown before leveling me with the same look.

“You’re supposed to take care of this one Jace.”

“I did. Didn’t you hear her come?”

He crossed his arms, stiffly. “You know what I mean.”

“Relax, bud. She’s just as important to me as she is to you. I didn’t do anything she didn’t like.”

So, she didn’t beg for me to fuck her at first, but she certainly reaped the benefits from it. And there was no denying my little mouse loved when things got rough. She was perfect for us. Kaiden’s gentleman-y ways vanished when he got between a woman’s legs. We needed someone like Rae.

“Isn’t it too soon for you two to be arguing over her?” Portia asked, an amused smirk twisting her usually pouty lips.

Kaiden gave her a look of distaste. “Jace and I don’t argue.” He turned his attention back to me looking more relaxed. “What are you doing with her now?”

“Giving her a morale boost. I couldn’t leave her in there like a lost lamb. Come on.”

  They followed without protest.

“Did she handle Clark’s death okay?”

“Do you care if she didn’t? That sack of shit had it coming.”

  Kaiden shrugged in response.

“How many games are we going to play before the final hunt?” Portia asked?

“That depends on Rae, but I have a feeling we’re just getting started.”

I glanced down at her as I walked, making sure she stayed passed out. She was such a beautiful woman. Nothing like the others. I was glad Dad suggested a deviation from the blondes. They’d been lovely for a while, but ultimately, they all failed and began to look too much alike.

When we reached the main entrance Kaiden held the gate open wide enough for me to fit through without having to set Rae down.

“Climb the chain and then take her,” I instructed.

“I thought we were leaving her back in the park?” Portia questioned.

I sighed and passed Rae to Kaiden. “Do you not feel how cold it’s starting to get? Jesus, Po. We aren’t heathens. She’ll be no fun if she’s frozen.”

I hopped the chain next, then jogged to Rae’s car and opened the back door.

Kaiden caught up a few minutes later and laid her gently in the back seat.

I smoothed down her dress, tempted to take another look at her pretty, swollen pussy, but I’d have plenty of time to do that later. Studying her sleeping form, I shook my head and began to unbutton my tux jacket. Once I had it off, I balled it up and eased the bundle beneath her head.

  Much better.

  “How sweet,” Portia cooed.

“You know, she’s going to be the lady of the Blackwood estate soon. You’d be better off to drop the bitchy persona and make nice,” Kaiden stated.

She diverted her attention with a pout. There wasn’t anything she could say. I’d cut her tongue out if she disrespected him. Besides, she knew he was right.

  CHAPTER FIVE

  Raelynn

Something hot was blowing on my face.

It took me a moment to remember where I was or what I’d been doing. My eyes flew open as everything came rushing back to me. I sat up, regretting the abrupt movement immediately.

My legs felt as if someone had driven a stake into them from my calves down. The kinks in my neck and soreness wrapping my throat had me reluctant to move my head. The ache between my legs was far less painful, and based on how it came about, it should’ve been the worst. I pushed my hair out of my face, then rubbed my eyes with the heel of my palms.

The sun had started to rise. I wasn’t sure how long I’d been asleep, but it’d still been dark out before I went into the mirror house. How did I even end up in my backseat?

All I could recall was what Jace had been doing before everything went dark. He or one of his goonies must have moved me.

It was so damned hot in here, it felt as if I were baking. Dragging myself forward, I reached between the seats and tapped away at my screen to shut off the heat. The fact someone started my car and even turned it on meant they didn’t want me to get cold. How thoughtful of them.

Remembering I’d stashed the cellphone in the cusp of my bra, I reached down the front of my dress and pulled it out, frowning at the sweaty screen. It was six-forty in the morning. One small message box was displayed on the screen, an exclamation mark above it. I navigated to the phones inbox and read the single text.

  Be at Rosie’s by eight.

What the hell? What if I wouldn’t have woken up until then? I checked the time the message gad been sent and scoffed.

  Of course.

  Mere minutes ago.

My heart skipped a beat. Was someone was watching me even now? I looked around, but unless I developed the ability to see through trees in the next few seconds, I had no way of knowing who was on babysitting duty.

It was beginning to unnerve me in ways nothing had before. To be watched like this stripped away any semblance of security I thought I’d ever had. I wasn’t safe within the walls of my home or outside of it. I was starting to think I couldn’t blink without it being seen.

I ran a hand through my hair, tugging at the roots. Why did they want me to go to the diner? Could it be about Kayla? I was near desperate to hear from her and know she was okay. I wasn’t foolish enough to dial her from this phone, though.

Unsure how long it would take me to find the diner from my current location given I still wasn’t all too sure how to get around town, I grit my teeth and climbed from the back seat to the front.

I had little more than an hour to figure out.

I found the diner with less than twenty minutes to spare.

For such a small-town Harmony Springs had a ridiculous amount of side roads and dead ends. I passed people out, all going about their days with no knowledge of the hell I was experiencing. None of them knew about the dead body beneath a roller coaster. But did they know their golden twins were fucking psychopaths?

  That was the real question.

The entire drive in trying to make sense of all this I found it harder and harder to believe not a single soul had put two and two together about the missing girls, the sheriff, and these neurotic old money families.

I pulled into the diner’s parking lot and cut the engine, noting my gas light was dangerously close to coming on. There weren’t any other cars parked here, but that didn’t necessarily mean anything bad. I rolled my neck and then got out, keeping my fob and the burner phone clutched tightly within one hand.

It wasn’t until I got right to the door that I belatedly realized the diner didn’t have a lack of cars because it wasn’t busy yet. It was closed. I was thoroughly confused. There was a sign right on the door that said the diner was open twenty-four seven. How did someone randomly shut it down?

  Could the town be
that under the control of these people? This was beginning to feel like an absolute fucked version of the Twilight Zone.

The phone started to ring, buzzing and chirping away in my hand. I looked down at it, seriously debating not answering. Logic and anger went back and forth for all of five seconds before I decided it would be in my, and potentially someone’s else’s best interest to answer.

“What now?” I asked as way of greeting.

“Oh, good morning Rae,” Kaiden replied happily. “I know your accommodations weren’t ideal, but I hope you feel somewhat better after getting some rest.”

A man jogged by holding a leash with a Labrador on the other end. The dog tried to veer into the street, he stopped it by tugging it back on the path he was taking, flashing me a friendly smile as he passed.

I understood why he did it, but that’s exactly what this situation reminded me of. Being controlled so I stayed on the screwed-up path they had paved before I ever got here.

“Why don’t you just tell me whatever it is you want me to do next? I am over you, your brother, and your messed-up group of psychotic friends.”

The line remained quiet after I finished. I’d cut off his cheerful speech to make my point. I couldn’t deal with his sugary sweet bullshit right then. I felt bad for a second and could have kicked my own ass for it. Kaiden Blackwood was one of the last people on this planet that needed sympathy.

“Please don’t use that tone, Rae. I know this all seems bad right now but making me upset will only make things worse. Be a good girl. Okay? For me.”

A sleuth of expletives gathered in my chest ready to explode.

I sucked in a breath and clenched my fist, tightening my grip on the phone.

“What would you like me to do?” I asked much nicer than before.

“Right now? Go on in and lock the door behind you. Maybe get some food in your system? I love those curves of yours, so let’s not start having you skip meals. Oh, and get cleaned up.”

My mouth slackened and I openly stared ahead. Utter disbelief flooded my system. This couldn’t be real. A laugh clawed its way from my raw throat before I could contain it.

  “Uh…Rae?”

I laughed again at the obvious concern in his tone, getting hold of myself enough to ask, “Is there some reason why I couldn’t I don’t know, do all of this at home?”

“Oh, of course. It’s not time for you to come here yet. You’ve gotta play a little more first.”

“What do you mean? Are you at my house?”

Tired of standing outside the diner, I tried the door and unsurprisingly, it opened. I locked it before moving any further inside.

“Mm, I forgot Jace was too busy indulging himself to explain some basics. Home is no longer where it used to be, Rae. You’ll never be returning there. Maybe one day we can ride by, but it’s far too risky right now.”

I really didn’t like this situation, but the way he was speaking, as if I was going to be with him in the near distant future was enough to truly start making me afraid. Just what did they have planned?

I thought the whole point of this was to make me another mutilated trophy to hang on their wall of victims. I suppose they could have done this a million times over already, but then they wouldn’t be able to play their games.

“I honestly don’t understand what the hell is going on.”

“I’m sorry,” he replied, and it sounded like he genuinely meant that. “If its any consolation, this method of playing is new for us too. We’ve never had a girl like you before Rae.”

I took a moment to turn that statement over, heading straight for the back room where all the spare uniforms were kept. One of those skimpy pieces of fabric was a lot less ideal than this dress, but I couldn’t stand to stay wearing this anymore.

I was filthy. I was beginning to feel what I suspected was a mixture of mine and Jace’s come between my legs, and there was still dried blood on the back of my one hand. Not to mention the amount of sweat I’d disbursed.

I wondered if he meant I was different because the color of my hair. Majority of the girls on the bulletin board were blondes.

This seemed rather extreme for something as simple as my roots, though.

“Can’t you tell me what it is we’re playing for?”

“Oh, Rae,” he groaned. “You. You’re the prize. Tell me you knew that already.”

So, they kept saying, but that didn’t make any kind of sense. Why go through all these motions? I asked just as much.

  “Why not just take me?”

He chuckled. “Where’s the fun in that? Or the honor? This is tradition.”

Honor? Tradition? If this was a generational thing his family was even more screwed up than I originally thought. I pushed open the break room door and went to the closet where the boxes were stored.

“If I’m the prize if you win, what do I get if I win?”

He had the same reaction to me suggesting I’d win that his brother did.

Unlike Jace, Kaiden at least was ‘kind’ enough to answer, even if it did surprise me.

  “Freedom.”

  I paused my digging.

  “Freedom?”

“What did you think you got?” he asked curiously.

“Honestly, I thought you were going to kill me either way,” I muttered.

“Kill you? Why would you say something like that? I would never hurt you, treat you as if you were one of those worthless whores. I love you.”

Seriously. Love? And he sounded so…impassioned. I sat back on my hunches, lasting all of five seconds before the pain in my legs had me plopping down on my ass. I propped myself up against the door frame and rubbed the back of my neck.

“Kaide,” I began, going with a nice gentle approach. “You don’t love me. You--.”

“You can’t tell me how I feel,” he snapped. “I’m capable of understanding my own goddamn emotions. You’re the one confused, but don’t worry. I can prove it. Stay where you are. I’ll be in touch soon.”

  “Kaide--.”

“You’re playing my game now.” The sinister notes to his tone stopped me from trying to say anything else. I let the phone slide from my hand and shut my eyes. Why had I thought I could reason with him? Kaiden was more insane than Jace, maybe a bit more obsessive too.

I’d clearly just struck a nerve.

What did that mean for me now?

  CHAPTER SIX

  Kaiden

How could she say that to me?

After all my brother and I had done for her. Did she think dragging her ex to town was an easy task? It wasn’t. We made sure it happened for her. Because he’d hurt her. That was a courting gift if there ever was one.

“Baby brother,” Jace called to get my attention.

Why he was so insistent on making it clear he was a whole five minutes older never failed to amuse me. Nonetheless, it worked to snap me out of my daze.

“Did you hear what she said?”

“Yes,” he replied bluntly. “Buttoning up the tux jacket he’d replaced his old one with.

  I stood. “And?”

Eyes an identical shade of bluish green met mine in the mirror.

“I think you’re being too hard on both of you. Rae is new to all this. You know it’s going take time for her to adjust. On the flip side, she should be more mindful of her words.”

I looked down and toed the living room floor. “Why are you so good at this Jace?”

“Hey, no comparisons, remember? We each have our own methods, and they’ve always worked. This time is no different, just the girl is. But what the fucks that matter?”

I slid my hands in the pockets of my slacks. “You don’t think it matters?”

“Raelynn is ours. She’ll fight, scream, maybe even cry about it at first. That isn’t going to change how this will end. She’ll be in our bed begging to be fucked in every hole she’s got until there’s a permanent imprint of our dicks to serve as a reminder that we own her.”

  I twi
sted my mouth, uncertain about that. Perhaps one day she’d be like that, but my doll was stubborn.

Like any new toy, she’d need to be tended and molded into shape, carefully. I couldn’t break her. I sighed and palmed my fringe, making sure it was still secure. There was nothing worse than looking bad and thus making a bad impression.

“I’m going to stay positive,” I finally replied. “We may do things differently, but I know things will work out this time.”

“See, that’s more like it.” Jace clapped his hands together and snagged the closet key off a hook. “You know the girls like the cultured gentleman thing you’ve got going just as much as they like hearing they can use my face as a seat.”

Why did he have to talk like that? I shook my head, instinctively catching the key when he tossed it to me. I gave him a questioning look.

“It’s your turn, baby bro. Go get your prop. We can play with her until she goes in the box.”

  I grinned.

Now this was my idea of fun.

  CHAPTER SEVEN

  Raelynn

I could almost believe they’d forgotten about me. Realistically, I knew that couldn’t be further from the truth, but it gave me some small comfort to think so.

I’d given myself a hoe bath, using a bathroom sink to scrub my body down to the best of my ability. There wasn’t much to be done with gritty paper towels and cheap hand soap.

  That was hours ago.

I’d since forced myself to wolf down something light, not from hunger, but because it would be stupid not to give my body substance other than the water, I kept chugging.

I had moved on since to sitting in a center both that made me feel as if I were equal distance between both the entrance and exit of the diner.

I’d dozed off a few times, slipping into a state of subdued melancholy. I honestly hadn’t the faintest clue on how to get out of this situation. While in retrospect the idea of hopping in my car and driving away seemed easy enough, the domino effect it could trigger wasn’t something I wanted on my plate of karma. There was no way of knowing who else had been dragged into this mess. I’d already involuntarily cost two people their lives.
