“Hop up, beautiful. I need to take care of this condom before it leaks all over their couch.”

Oh, right. They’d had sex on someone else’s couch while the owners were away having a baby. She felt a little regretful about that, not the act itself, but its location. She certainly wouldn’t want anyone having sex on her couch. She wasn’t sure why her mind went there or why she couldn’t just enjoy the moment, but it was one of the pitfalls of being her.

She stood up and started to search out her clothing. She was bent over picking up her underwear when he came up behind her and ran his hand over her ass. She was instantly horny again.

Her clothing forgotten, she stood up and turned around in his arms. He pulled her closer and her arms went around his neck. Their kiss started out soft and sweet but turned heated in seconds. He gripped her ass, lifted her up, and her legs went around his waist. His cock was already erect again and she moaned as she felt it millimeters away from her entrance teasing her with another round of the best sex of her life. He started to walk out of the room with her in his arms.

She pulled back a fraction. “Where are we going?”

“Upstairs. To a real bed. We need another condom, and I want more room this time to do as many things to you as possible before we pass out from exhaustion.”

She smiled against his lips. “Better hurry. Round One was pretty exhausting already.”

He started sprinting up the stairs with her, and she laughed at his antics.

He turned into her room, probably because it was the closest one to the stairs and threw her on the bed. She laughed as she bounced on the mattress.

She was laying on her back and he climbed on top of her. She squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head. “Uh uh. No. Can’t.”

He backed up immediately, and she sat up, sad that she’d ruined the moment.

“So, is it just when I’m on top of you?” She looked up at him and she saw concern in his eyes. She didn’t want to see that. She wanted to see lust and happiness, but he had to understand.

She dropped her eyes to the ground and nodded her head. He took her hands and stood her up. He lifted her chin, wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her. His hands moved down and cupped her bare ass like he had so many times that evening.

He broke the kiss as he held on to her ass. “Okay, beautiful. I can work with that.” He kissed her once, and lightly smacked her left ass cheek. “Turn around and get on your hands and knees on the bed with your knees at the edge.”

She did as she was told, and her excitement was not only back but went up a notch. He ran his fingers from her shoulder blades, down her back, over her ass and down her thighs. He came back up the inside of her thighs and swiped at her slit before leaning over her and whispering in her ear.

“Perfect, beautiful. Now, wait right there.”

She looked over and watched him walk out of the room. It only took her a second to realize he was going to get a condom.

He returned and threw the string of foil packets on the bed next to her.

  “Someone is ambitious.”

  He chuckled. “Just prepared, beautiful.”

  “A regular boy scout.”

“I think we can agree that I’m not a ‘boy’ anything.” He punctuated “boy” by ramming into her in one motion to the hilt and she let out a low, satisfied moan. She hadn’t even seen him put on a condom, but she trusted that he did.

“You like that, beautiful?” He started to move in and out of her in a steady, punishing pace.

“Mmmm hmmm.” She nodded and hummed.

He chuckled. “Good. Your greedy pussy was just in the air open and ready for me. I couldn’t resist taking what it was offering.”

She groaned at his dirty words and started to rock back on to him as he rocked forward, arching her back and opening herself more with each thrust. Her body was already so primed from their sex on the couch that she was halfway to an orgasm from the very first thrust.

He reached around and only had to touch her clit for her orgasm to start. Her body pulsed and spasmed as he continued to thrust into her. As she felt her orgasm fade away, his movements became jerky as his orgasm began. She loved feeling his cock grow and pulse inside of her, and wondered what he felt like bare, but pushed those thoughts aside knowing it wasn’t something she would ever feel.

He pulled out of her and disappeared into the bathroom for a second as she collapsed onto the bed. He came back with a washcloth and she felt the warmth on her tender, overused pussy. He returned the washcloth to the bathroom, came back to the bed and pulled her up to lay her head on the pillow and get under the covers. He snuggled in behind her, and even though they left their clothes downstairs and the television on, she couldn’t make herself care enough to leave the warmth and security of his arms to take care of those things. They could wait until morning, and most televisions had auto-off features anyway.

She closed her eyes, and everything faded to black within seconds. She was exhausted beyond anything she’d felt in ages, and she fell asleep completely cocooned by Blake.

  Chapter Eleven

  Blake

He was going to kill his brother. He’d considered it half-jokingly over the last few years as Mark spiraled down further and further, but whatever he’d done to Theresa was the final straw. He didn’t know if she was traumatized because Mark was generally abusive or if he’d actually forced himself on her. Just the thought brought bile up into his mouth.

As if she could sense his feelings in her sleep, Theresa cuddled closer into his chest and he held her tighter. One thing was for sure, after the night they’d had and the new information he’d learned about her triggers, she was his. His to hold. They were good at cuddling. His to protect. Though she would resist that notion as independent as she was. His to love. Love? Not love. It was too soon for that. Wasn’t it?

He held her as he drifted off to sleep. She was an early riser, so he would have to get up even earlier, before dawn, to make a much-needed call to Terry. Things were going to be changing for Mark, and he had no idea what was in store for him.

The next morning, he opened his eyes to a dark room and looked over at the clock on the bedside table. It was just after 4 A.M. He wanted to turn over and snuggle the beautiful girl in his arms a little longer, but he had a phone call to make. He shimmied out of bed, careful not to jostle Theresa too much and padded next door to his room. Their clothes were still downstairs, so he stepped right in the shower and regretfully washed off Theresa’s scent. After he dressed, he went downstairs and smiled when he saw the mess of clothes all over the living room floor. He’d leave that glorious sight for a little bit longer while he started the coffee machine.

He had just poured himself a cup of freshly brewed coffee when his phone rang.

“Hey, Terry. I was just about to call you. How’d you know I’d be up this early?”

“I didn’t.” Terry laughed. “If you were just about to call me, how’d you know that I’d be up this early.”

  “I didn’t.” They both laughed.

“You’re always up early and I knew you’d want to know what I just found out.”

  “What’s going on?”

“Did you know your brother was an informant?”

  “What?!”

“Yep. Well, at least he was before he messed up. I taped a conversation he had with a detective yesterday. The detective was not happy about the trouble Mark had gotten himself into, but your brother insisted that his ‘girl’ was going to give him the money to pay off his debts.”

“Why does he still think that? He doesn’t even know where we are.”

“I don’t know, man, but he seemed very sure of himself.” That worried Blake, but he couldn’t do anything about it until Mark made a move.

“Damn. Well, I found out some new, or I should say ‘expanded’, information about Mark, and I wanted you to get some real dirt on him to get him arrested. He deserves to be behind bars if my suspicions are correct, but I
can’t prove anything. If he’s an informant though, then the police are most likely already aware of the majority of his transgressions.”

“I’ll see what I can dig up anyway. It might come in handy later.”

“You’re a good man, Terry. What would I do without you?”

“Your own dirty work.” Terry chuckled, and Blake smiled. “In fact, you could be down here, doing this, and I could be up there with the girl.”

“Not gonna happen.” He forced himself to chuckle. He knew Terry was joking, but his stomach recoiled at the thought.

He hung up with Terry and finished his first cup of coffee. Then he went to the living room to gather their clothes, and as he picked up each item, he relived every detail of the night before. He took the clothes upstairs to put them in his hamper and checked on Theresa before he went back downstairs for another cup of coffee.

As he sipped his coffee at the kitchen table his cell phone rang.

“Hey, Bryan. Are congratulations in order?”

“Yes, sir, they are! Bryce Hatfield entered this world at 4:23 this morning. Seven pounds, seven ounces and twenty inches long.”

“That’s wonderful, man. And how’s Rebecca?”

“Amazing. She’s amazing. He’s amazing. It’s all fucking amazing. Childbirth is a beautiful, disgusting, but fucking amazing thing!”

Blake laughed. He’d never heard Bryan so, well, amazed for lack of a better word. “Yeah, it is. I can’t say I’ve witnessed it for myself, but I envy you. Congratulations, and give Rebecca and Bryce a kiss from me.”

“Thanks, man. Will do. They’ll be discharged sometime Friday morning most likely, so we’ll be back at the ranch by lunch. This probably should have been my first concern, but has everything been all right since we left?”

Blake chuckled. More than all right. But that’s not what Bryan was asking. “Yep. Nothing to report. Quit worrying and go enjoy your new family.”

“Thanks, again. Whatever brought you to us, you could not have come at a better time.”

“Glad I could be here for you. We’ll see you Friday.”

Just as he was hanging up his phone, Theresa padded into the kitchen wearing a short silky robe and looking like she wasn’t fully awake yet. Thankfully, his conversation with Bryan was over because he nearly swallowed his tongue at the sight of her.

He got up from the table, met her by the coffee maker, and took her in his arms. As she put her arms around his neck and kissed him, the hem of her robe raised up and his hands lowered to her ass. He loved her ass and he couldn’t keep his hands off of it. He groaned when his fingers touched bare flesh and he realized she wasn’t wearing anything under the robe.

“Damn, beautiful. You’re going to be the death of me.”

“What do you mean?” She looked and sounded innocent; she even fluttered her eyelashes for extra effect, but he was not fooled.

He groaned again and let go of her ass. “Coffee. You need coffee. Go sit at the table while I get that for you.” While I get my mind off your bare ass.

She smirked at him but went to the table without a word which was unexpected. Maybe he needed to fuck her silly more often. But as amazing as that sounded, he liked her feisty.

He set her coffee mug in front of her and sat down with his own cup of coffee. His third. Not that anyone but him would know that.

“Any requests for breakfast this morning? Looks like they have anything you could possibly desire.”

She gave him a pointed look.

“Hey now. I’m talking about ‘to eat’.”

She dropped her eyes to his crotch as if she had x-ray vision to see it through the table.

  “Woman!”

She giggled. “Kidding. I’m going to finish my coffee first.” She winked at him and it was his turn to roll his eyes.

He sat at the table watching her sip her coffee as he sipped his. It was mesmerizing. He’d never been so turned on over his morning coffee before.

  “Do they have any cereal?”

  “Huh? What?”

She smirked at him. She knew exactly what she did to him. “Cereal. Do Bryan and Rebecca have any cereal in the pantry?”

“Uh. Yeah. I think I saw some Honey Bunches of Oats when I was looking for lunch yesterday.”

  “With Almonds?”

  “I don’t know. I’ll go check.”

He came back to the kitchen table with the cereal she asked for, two bowls, two spoons and a jug of milk.

He poured the cereal and milk for both of them. “So, what do you want to do today, beautiful?” He knew what she was going to suggest. “Besides that!”

She laughed. “Okay. Okay. Why don’t we go into town? We’re going to be moving into the trailer in a couple of days, so I’d like to see what you already have stocked there and what we need to add.”

“That’s a great idea, beautiful. And I just realized you distracted me from telling you the news this morning. Rebecca had the baby this morning.”

“I distracted you, huh?” She winked at him. “I’m happy for them though!”

“Yeah. Me too. His name is Bryce and he was seven pounds, seven ounces and twenty inches long.”

“Awe! Good sized baby. I can’t wait to meet him!”

“He’s definitely going to rule this roost for a while.”

She laughed. “Yes. He is, and we’re going to retreat to the trailer and miss all the fun.” He knew she was being sarcastic, but her tone held a bit of truth, and he wondered if she was feeling a little nostalgic about the baby stage.

They finished their breakfast, put away their bowls and went upstairs to get ready to go to town.

They stopped at the trailer on the way down the driveway, so Theresa could see what Blake had already stocked it with. She looked around and muttered under her breath about “boy food” and they were on their way in less than five minutes.

Brennan Lake was a one-stoplight town where everything happened on Main Street. Blake parked at the only grocery store in town but knew the minute he spotted the coffee shop down the block where Theresa would want to go first.

He got out of the truck, but before he could get around to her side, she was already out of the truck too. “Are you ever going to wait so I can get the door for you?”

  “Maybe.” She chuckled.

He took her hand. She looked down at their joined hands and raised her eyebrows at him. He just gave her a wide grin and led her towards the coffee shop.

“How did you know I wanted to check out the coffee shop?”

“I would think our mutual love of coffee would answer that question.”

She smiled at him. He loved putting that smile on her face. “I guess it does.”

He opened the door to Brennan’s Beans and held it for her to walk in first.

“Welcome to Brennan’s Beans. I’m Brennan. What can I get you?”

Theresa looked up from the pastry display at the shop keeper who’d greeted them. “Your name is actually ‘Brennan’?”

“Yep! I’m named after the town and the shop is named after me. And you are Blake and Theresa. I’m so glad to finally meet you.”

Blake could only guess that Theresa had the same shocked expression that he had because Brennan just laughed.

“Don’t be alarmed. Word travels fast in a small town Everyone knows you’re watching over the Hatfield Ranch while Bryan and Rebecca are away. Have you heard anything? I can’t wait to meet the new baby!”

Theresa recovered before he did. “Yeah. Blake got a call from Bryan this morning. Rebecca had the baby and they named him ‘Bryce’.”

“Oh, how exciting! Do you know when they’ll be home? I’d like to send some pastries and maybe a meal or two.”

“Bryan thought they would be discharged Friday morning.” Blake answered that question since he wasn’t sure if he’d told Theresa the specifics of their return yet.

“Great. Have you two decided what you want?”

For a second, Blake thought she
could read his thoughts. His mind had wondered to moving into the trailer with Theresa after Bryan and Rebecca came home. They would be in closer quarters which wasn’t a problem for him when he was just attracted to her. But after spending time with her and being with her, it was more than just attraction, and he had to decide what he wanted out of it and find out where her head was as well.

Theresa hadn’t had the same problem though. She ordered her coffee and both ladies were looking at him expectantly before he realized Brennan was asking what he wanted from the menu, not out of life in general. “I’ll take one of your blueberry strudel muffins.”

  “No coffee?” Theresa looked alarmed.

He chuckled. “No. I had enough this morning. I’m good with just a muffin.”

“If you say so.” He saw she had her card out to pay, but he swiped his card in the machine before she could.

He grinned at her in satisfaction, but the satisfaction was short lived.

“You have to insert the chip.”

Confused, he turned to Brennan as Theresa pushed her way between him and the card reader. “Huh?”

It was Theresa’s turn to grin in satisfaction. “They have a chip reader. You have to insert the card into the machine, not swipe it.” She gave him an exaggerated wink.

He looked down to see Theresa’s card sticking out of the machine and the transaction approved on her card, not his.

“Woman. Just once, could you let me do something for you?”

She pushed up on her tiptoes, placed her hands on his shoulders, pressed her body to his and whispered in his ear. “I let you do plenty of things for me last night.”

His body responded to her words and before he could think twice about where they were, he took her mouth in the kiss he’d been dreaming about since he woke up that morning.

Their tongues twirled in sync, and they exchanged breaths until her exhale was his inhale, and back and forth, and back and forth.

He broke the kiss and just stared into her eyes for a moment overwhelmed by a feeling he still wasn’t ready to identify.
