“Don’t worry, my sun.”
He could always tell what she was thinking. Idalia opened her eyes and met her husband’s beseeching gaze.
“Once Guy sends those mercenaries back to France, which I’m sure he’ll manage, John will be in a much weakened position. We nearly have the support we need to confront him. Before long, we’ll be at Tuleen Castle, missing these adventures.”
She traced his lower lip with her thumb. “Sending an army of mercenaries hired by the king back to France,” she said. “Seems quite a mission for just one man.”
He took her thumb in his mouth, as she’d hoped he would do.
“Thankfully, Guy is more of a man than any I know. He will not fail.”
When he nipped her thumb and then licked the “wound,” Idalia resigned herself to no more sleep that morn. If there was one thing she enjoyed more, however, it was this.
“I hope you are right,” she said, putting Guy from her mind.
“I am.” Lance captured her hand and pinned it behind her head. “Now, if you will, can we stop talking about the order? I prefer you to think of just one man when we are in bed.”
“Oh? And which one would that be?”
He didn’t answer. At least, not with words.
Idalia chuckled. “Thankfully, there is just one man for me.”
