Dexter heard what Xavier was speaking, but his long-held belief kicked in. Handing it over to God should be sufficient. However, moments later, his life occurrences flashed before him, along with the things Xavier said, forcing Pastor Lewis to realize God was with him through it all, answering his prayer and sending Xavier to the church door. And after learning more about Restoration House, Dexter agreed to sign himself into the faith-based treatment center. Repairing himself was heavy on his mind. Restoration House offered Christian counseling services for the whole individual focusing on personal, emotional, and spiritual matters that we deal with daily, and Dexter desperately yearned for help. He didn’t know where else to turn. Although he recognized he would neglect his responsibilities as pastor, husband, and father, he needed this time. And he also understood he was of no use to anyone if he wasn’t good to himself. After adding to the letter he composed for Naomi-Ruth, Dexter had Xavier drive him to Restoration House in New Jersey.
