Surprise, Surprise Page 13

“What’s”—Jon belched loud enough to wake the dead—“that?”

“For one thing, we’re both drunk. Making decisions in this state is damn stupid.” Matt paused a minute, took a sip of coffee, and sighed as the caffeine jolted through his system. “For another, there’s Reenie. We don’t even know if she’ll agree to see or talk to us. And even if she does, what are the chances of her agreeing to have sex with the two of us?”

“She already has had sex with both of us.”

“I know that, you moron, but she didn’t realize it at the time. She obviously thought we were the same person.”

Jon slammed his cup on the table. “So after all the years of you trying to convince me to have a threesome, you’re telling me you’re not interested?”

Was his brother nuts? Of course, he was interested. His pulsing cock was proof of that, but he wasn’t about to stand up and show it off to Jon. “What the hell do you think? Who wouldn’t be interested in being with Reenie? I’m simply trying to be realistic. You and I may want to have a ménage with her, but unless she agrees, we’re shit out of luck.”

“I know. I know,” Jon said, raking his fingers through his hair. He rubbed the back of his neck.

Matt grinned. For someone who’d run away from their first experience, Jon sure was anxious for a threesome now. But then, they were talking about Reenie, a woman they both wanted. “I propose we sleep on it tonight”—he looked at the stove clock—“or what’s left of it and talk about it in the morning. If a threesome is still something you want, because lord knows I do, we’ll figure out what to do.”

Matt staggered down the hallway with Jon weaving behind him. Once in his room, he fell face first on the bed. Before he passed out, dreams of Jon and him, loving Reenie, filled his head. He pressed his erection into the mattress.

  Could it really be possible?

  Chapter Sixteen

“Ashley, how could you?” Reenie wanted to both smack and hug her friend at the same time. Smack her for giving the brothers her phone number and hug her for making it easier for them to contact her. But would they after she had stormed out of the bar?

She glanced at Ashley, sitting at the other end of the couch in her small studio apartment. She emptied her glass of red wine in one gulp. At this rate, she’d be drunk in no time. Not such a bad idea when her nerves had been wound up tight all week. She tried to ignore Ashley’s smug grin and shining eyes.

“So, they’ve called you?” Ashley asked.

“Yes. Both have called or texted several times a day since last weekend.”

Ashley popped a piece of chocolate in her mouth. “Did you respond?”

A shudder went through Reenie. All she thought about during the week was how embarrassed she was, knowing she’d slept with the brothers. Albeit at separate times, but still… “No.”

Ashley set her wine glass on the side table and grabbed a handful of chips. “Why the hell not? Two hot guys interested in you? Hell, I’d be on that faster than you can say, ‘hubba, hubba.’ ”

Reenie buried her face in her hands. “I can’t imagine what they think of me. I slept with them both—and within hours of meeting them.”

“Give yourself some slack.” Ashley tossed a chip at Reenie. “When you were in Chicago, you thought it was the same guy you’d had sex with in your mother’s office. So in your mind, you had sex with the same guy right after you met him twice.”

“I’m not sure that made sense, but I get what you’re saying.”

“Besides, two hot guys—and you have to admit they are hot—are interested in you, and you ignore them? Have you thought that they may be mad at each other? You having had sex with each of them may have set them against each other.”

Reenie flopped into the back of the couch and closed her eyes. She tried to relax her fingers around the stem of her glass. “Shit. I hadn’t thought of that. I think one of them, I’m not sure which, told me he lived with his brother. Hell, I don’t even know who is Jon and who is Matt. Their voices sound the same on the phone.”

Ashley leaned across the couch and pushed Reenie’s knee. “Are they really identical?”

She opened her eyes and stared at her friend. “You saw them last weekend. Except for a small scar at the corner of Chicago Bart’s lip, yes, they’re identical.”

“That’s not what I meant, and you know it.”

Reenie recalled their buff and sexy bodies. Their broad shoulders and slim hips. Their hairy chests and sculpted abs. Mentally, she ran her hands down their backs as they made love. “One of them, I think Office Bart, has a mole on his back while the other guy doesn’t.”

“Oh, shit, Reenie,” Ashley said, her voice filled with irritation. “That’s not what I meant, and you know it. What about”—she pointed to her crotch—“you know. Their junk?”

Thinking about the identical, impressive size of their cocks sliding in and out of her made her pussy muscles clench. A flutter deep in her core began to quicken. Did they taste the same, too?

“Never mind,” Ashley said, laughing. “That dreamy ‘I want more’ look on your face says it all.”

“Yeah, they were both pretty incredible. I’m not sure what it was about them that made me have sex so fast. You know I’m not that type of person.”

“Sometimes, my dear friend, there is no explanation for why things happen.” Ashley stood and took a bottle of wine from a bag on the counter. “I’ve met several guys who have instantly turned me on and have given me incredible sex.”

“But I’m not like you. I don’t sleep around.” As the words left her mouth, Reenie regretted them. She’d made her friend sound like a slut. “I’m so sorry, Ashley. I didn’t mean that the way it sounded.”

Ashley laughed as she twisted the corkscrew into the wine bottle. “That’s all right. I know I make it seem as if I’ve slept with tons of guys, but I really haven’t. I’m more selective than I act.” She pulled out the cork and brought the bottle back to the coffee table. “It’s just that when I do meet someone who turns me on, I don’t see why I shouldn’t act on it. Until the right man comes along, the one I want to spend my life with, why not enjoy it? I’m not hurting anyone, am I?”

“I guess not.” Reenie accepted another full glass.

“Have you thought about the two of them?”

Reenie frowned. That’s all she’d thought about since last week. “That’s the problem, isn’t it? There’s two of them.”

“Not just the two of them, but the two of them together, having sex with you.”

Reenie wasn’t about to admit she had thought about it in the darkness of her room, during the night when sleep eluded her. Images of both men kissing her, sucking on her nipples, and licking her pussy had nearly driven her crazy until she’d had to take matters into her own hands to relieve the throbbing tension. She wasn’t about to admit that to anyone. Not even her best friend.

“Have you ever done it with two guys?” Reenie asked, trying to tamp down the spikes of desire attacking her core. Hopefully, her feelings didn’t show on her face.

“You have thought about it,” Ashley said, her eyes sparkling with laughter. “Your face is as red as our wine.”

Shit. Reenie covered her face with her hands. What must Ashley think of her? But wait, Ashley had brought up the subject of a ménage. “You didn’t answer my question. Have you ever done it with two guys?”

Ashley wiped her hands down her legs. “Once.”

Reenie sat up and peered at her friend. Ashley’s eyes were closed, her small smile speaking volumes.

  “So how was it?”

“You can’t believe how incredible it is,” she said, opening eyes filled with wonder. “The first time, I was too busy thinking about how I was having sex with two hunky men to appreciate what they were doing to me. But after that, all I could say was ‘yowza.’ One guy can only suck on one nipple at a time, but two guys…”

A shiver started at Reenie’s hair roots and traveled down to her
toes as she imagined Jon and Matt doing that to her.

“And you can’t even imagine what it’s like having them both inside you at the same time.”

“You mean…” Reenie pointed to her front and back.

“Yep. It’s so intense, so powerful. I thought I was going to explode.”

Sweat pebbled Reenie’s face and rolled down her back. She picked up a magazine, fanned herself.

Ashley slapped her on the knee once more. “I know. Hot stuff, isn’t it?”

Reenie dropped the magazine. “Any hotter and I’d melt right here on the couch, and you’d have to wipe me up with a towel.” Gulping down her wine wasn’t cooling her off, either.

Ashley refilled their glasses. “Are you going to do it?”

  “Do what?”

“Have sex with both those guys.”

The energy flowing through her veins was enough to make her blood boil. Her skin itched, aching for their touch. “For one thing, I’ve never done that before.”

“There’s a first time for everything.”

“For another, I doubt whether they’d agree to having sex together with me. It’s probably not a common thing.”

Ashley laughed. “I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I imagine it happens more often than you think. People just don’t talk about it.”

“What happened with the two guys you were with?” Ashley’s look of pain came and went so fast, Reenie wasn’t sure she’d seen it. “You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”

“That’s all right. Remember when I went on that trip to Colorado in between semesters?”

Reenie nodded. “I believe you said you needed to find yourself.” She smiled at her friend’s grimace.

“I know. Stupid statement.” Ashley brushed her bangs from her forehead. “I sat with two guys on the plane. We hit it off, and when they had found out we were staying at the same hotel, they’d offered to let me ride with them. A snowstorm hit, and we barely made it to the resort. Shortly after arriving, the roads were closed. We were the only ones to make it. The snowstorm was so heavy that the resort closed the slopes, so skiing was out of the question.”

  “What did you do?”

“We played cards, joked around. The owner went home to be with his family, leaving the three of us alone at the lodge. After supper, we sat by the lobby fireplace, had a few drinks, and talked.”

“They got you drunk?” Ashley was an intelligent woman, so Reenie couldn’t imagine her friend being stupid enough to drink so much she’d fall into bed with two men.

Ashley’s eyebrows formed a vee. “No, they didn’t get me drunk. None of us did. But you can’t imagine how intoxicating it is having two hot, testosterone-filled men sitting on either side of you, paying attention to every word you say.”

If Ashley only knew how Reenie could imagine the scenario. Jon on one side of her with Matt on the other, each ready to fulfill her every fantasy.

“As the evening wore on the power went out. Before I knew it, Clint was kissing me. Then Jason. At first, I was shocked, but I was so turned on I thought my body would combust. When they invited me to their room, I could hardly believe it.”

“Did you spend the weekend with them?”

Ashley closed her eyes and sighed. “Did I ever. The snow kept on for two days, so there wasn’t much else to do but…”

“Have sex with two hot, testosterone-filled men?”

“That would be about it. It was the most amazing weekend I’d ever had. The most amazing sex I’d ever had. I lost count of the number of the best orgasms—”

“Okay, I get the idea.” Reenie held up a hand and laughed. Even though Ashley and she were good friends, Reenie didn’t need to hear about her orgasms. “What happened to them?”

Ashley’s tear-filled eyes broke Reenie’s heart. If she ever met them, she’d give them a piece of her mind for hurting one of the sweetest persons she’d ever known. “I woke up late Monday morning, and they were gone. We’d switched to my room, so I thought maybe they went back to theirs to change clothes. I got dressed and checked their room. After they didn’t answer, I looked in the lobby, restaurant, and gift shop, but I couldn’t find them anywhere.”

Had Chicago Bart done the same when she’d disappeared? She cringed. Had she hurt him? “Did you ask at the desk?”

Ashley nodded. “Yep. They’d both checked out that morning. The storm had finally stopped. The clerk said they needed to catch a late-morning flight.”

“I knew you seemed a little depressed when you got back, but I chalked it to not finding yourself.”

“I was depressed because those two bastards just up and disappeared. I never heard another word from them.”

“You mean those two bastards who gave you all those fantastic orgasms?”

Ashley grinned. “Those would be the ones. We hadn’t exchanged personal information, so I had no way of getting in touch with them.”

“Kinda sounds like Jon and Matt and me.” At Ashley’s shocked look, Reenie waved her hand in the air. “The not being able to contact each other part, not the sex part.”

“Well, you had a good reason to leave Chicago without contacting him. I can’t imagine what excuse those two had for pulling the disappearing act except they didn’t enjoy the weekend as much as I had.” Ashley hiccoughed. “Or they got what they wanted from a gullible woman and didn’t need me anymore.”

Reenie patted Ashley’s hand. “You don’t know that. It could have been any number of reasons.”

  “Like what?”

For a moment, Reenie couldn’t think of anything, but then, her imagination kicked into gear. “Well, maybe they were spies and someone recognized them. So they had to leave before they were caught or before someone harmed you for knowing them.” Her ideas picked up steam. “Or maybe they were both brain surgeons and had to rush off to perform surgery on a famous actor.”

  “Both of them?”

Reenie laughed. “Well, one could have been the anesthesiologist.”

As time wore on and another bottle of wine was consumed, their reasons became crazier. Reenie was happy that Ashley’s vibrant personality had returned. She held her sides from laughing. Plus, she hadn’t thought about her situation for a while.

“Enough about me. Let’s discuss your men,” Ashley said.

Reenie took a deep breath. Heat rose from Reenie’s chest to her face. Keep calm. “They aren’t my men. And there’s nothing to discuss.”

Ashley raised her eyebrows and licked her lips before giving her a small smile. “Well…in that case, I guess I’m free to pursue them.”

Okay, she knew Ashley was playing her, but still, her heart pounded in her ears, and a red haze crossed her eyes. “You’ll do no such thing.”

“Why not? You don’t want them.” Ashley traced a finger down her throat toward her breasts. “I’m sure I could talk them into a ménage. It’s been a while, and I rather fancy being with two men again.”

Reenie relaxed her fisted fingers. Her jaw cracked from clenching her teeth. “You can’t. They’re…”

  “Your men?”

Hating someone for being right was not good for a friendship, even if that person’s being right was for her own good.

Reenie glared at Ashley. “You win. Yes, I’ve thought about both of them together with me. Yes, the idea turns me on. Yes, I’ll answer their phone calls this week. But no, I won’t pursue them for a ménage. I can’t imagine two brothers sharing a woman without thinking she’s a slut, a whore. Even if that woman is me.”

Ashley tapped her wine glass against hers. “Tell me about it, girl. Tell me about it.”

  Chapter Seventeen

Jon wiped his sweaty palms down his slacks and glanced at the restaurant’s reception desk one more time. In his peripheral vision, he caught Matt doing the same. Both of them had nearly given up on Reenie answering their phone calls, but when she finally had on Sunday night, nerves had attacked him like a shark on chum. Even though it was now mid-
week and he and Matt had tons of work to do, they had agreed meeting with Reenie sooner rather than later was the better option.

“Did you get registered for the trip?” Jon asked Matt, shifting his attention to his brother.

Matt bounced his knee hard enough to make the silverware on their table rattle and water in the glasses tilt and swirl. Matt picked up his glass and took a sip, looking at him over the rim. Since the night they’d gotten so drunk, they’d agreed no drinking alcohol until the matter with Reenie was settled. “Yeah. The professor wasn’t in, but her secretary got me taken care of. I signed all the paperwork and paid my fee.”

“Probably a good thing that Zelda wasn’t there. She’d might wonder why I was registering a second time and ask you all sorts of questions.”

After seeing Reenie at the bar and realizing both he and Matt were interested in the same woman, the idea of a threesome with him, his brother, and Reenie wouldn’t go away. It was time to admit what Matt had been telling him for years—he was like his parents and grandparents and wanted to be part of a ménage. And the only person he could think of to do it with was Reenie and Matt.

“She’s here,” Matt said, standing and swiping his hands down his tan pants.

With his napkin, Jon wiped at the sweat beading on his forehead. His heart flipped. The sight of Reenie sent spikes of desire to his groin. Instead of being in a braid, her long, dark hair flowed around her face and shoulders like a veil. Her simple, blue sundress hugged her breasts and waist before flaring out into a skirt. Her strappy heels accentuated her calves. He recalled how her legs had felt wrapped around his waist. His balls tightened. Tamping down on what was becoming an embarrassing erection, he rose. He pulled out her chair as she neared, and sniffed in her clean, exotic scent.

“Hi, Reenie,” Matt and he said at the same time as they returned to their seats, he on her right and Matt on her left.

Reenie looked first at him, then Matt. “Who is who?” she asked, raising one delicate eyebrow. “I know your names are not Bart, but Jon and Matt. Could you please tell me which is Jon and which is Matt?”
