"Say good bye to your dog Cass, he's too loyal to you and because of that he will have to die" Serafin said as he pull the trigger.
"Stop!!!!" I screamed as I attack Serafin with a knife in my hands but as usual, Rex is too fast that he manage to steal the knife from me and then he pushed me hard that I bumped my back to our car. That same moment, I heard a loud bang from Serafin's rifle and the bullet penetrated Mr Jackson's body.
And because of the impact that I received from being thrown to the car, I felt the pain in my back and arms that I almost crouch my whole body and hold my arms.
I formed a fist in my hands as I see with my own two eyes Mr Jackson's dead body right in front of me, tears started to fall from my eyes as I stare at Serafin. "Crazy bastard, I will make sure that you will not get away with this!!" I screamed as I show him my anger.
"You will pay for this" I added as I endure the pain trying to get closer to Mr Jackson, he was like my father, a father I never had before but here he is dying in front of me and because of me.
Serafin laughed, a loud and devilish laugh that dominated the area "Enough with this dramatic scene Cass and lets cut to the business, now receive your punishment from your King because its what you deserve anyway" He said and pointed his rifle to me, now his next target is me, he will kill me after killing Mr Jackson.
"Kill me and you will receive the Alpha's wrath Serafin. Yes we know that the Cardinal is not the real one but we also know that killing me is waging war not only to Luna Canidae but also to the other Hybrids outside Luna Canidae. Will you be able to defend your freaking empire from them? No" I said as I smirk.
"You know you can't" I said as I mock him showing him my anger.
Serafin answered me with another smirk "But the fact that the mate of Luna Canidae was a Rebel?! They wouldn't want to help Luna Canidae my Queen and your freaking Alpha will have to clean your fucking mess!" He shouted and focused the rifle to me.
"It was nice playing with you Cass but now its your time to say good bye, so long my Queen!" He screamed as he pull the trigger of his rifle.
I left my eyes open as I receive the bullet to show him that I will never be scared in front of him even if its death.
Before the bullet penetrates my body, a skilled and calculated shooter shot the bullet suppressing Serafin's bullet to penetrate my body.
I barely survived because of that bullet who counter attacked Serafin's bullet. After escaping death, I heard the sound of helicopters approaching us and the sound of footsteps rushing towards us.
And then suddenly Yvan showed up together with the Zetas in their wolf form, Yvan attacked Serafin as Rex tries to protect Serafin by fighting Yvan while the other Zetas fought with the other Rebels.
Because of their sudden appearance, I felt safe and saved because I know that Lucas came for me.
Tears started to fall from my eyes as I see Lucas approaching me. He's here to save me from Serafin and I felt a sense of assurance that he will save me.
I tried to stand up but I was too weak to even walk and before my feet could even give up, Lucas hurried to help me stand up properly.
"Careful" He whispered as I hang into his arms.
"You came" I whispered as I show him my gratefulness while my tears are continuosly falling because I can't believe he came to save me.
"Se-serafin, he's here--- C-catch him Lucas" I said trying to converse with him while enduring the pain.
"You're safety is our priority here Cass, don't force yourself, you got your back hurt" He said and before I could even speak, I saw Yvan's wolf form being thrown into a rock.
"Yvan" I whispered.
"My King! We need to retreat!" I heard Rex said as he try to protect Serafin from Yvan and the Zetas.
"N-no, Lucas they're trying to run away!" I said.
Yvan was about to follow Serafin with Rex who are trying to escape but Lucas stopped him.
"Leave them be Yvan, it could be a trap if you follow them. Its enough that the mate is alive. We should go back for now" He said and looked at Mr Jackson "Unfortunately, Mr Jackson had to die" He said as he sigh.
I formed a fist in my hands, he's right, he died because he protected me until his freaking last breath but before his death, he learned the truth that is beyond imagination but he still chose to protect me as he stake his own life for me.
And just as what I promised Serafin, I will make sure he pays for this. He will pay for Mr Jackson's life with his own life.
I looked around us, I felt a sense of relief after seeing that all of the Rebels who ambushed me and Mr Jackson was already apprehended and some are already dead its just unfortunate that Rex and Serafin managed to escape.
I felt comfortable for a while but then suddenly I remembered my granny "Lucas" I said as I look at him.
"My granny, he surely went---" I was not able to finish what I'm about to say because he cut me off.
"Hush, relax Cass. Don't you remember that Eros went to your Granny's house earlier this day" Lucas said as he smile at me. Right there and then, I was relieved for the nth time knowing that Granny is okay as I remember that Eros left us earlier in the library to look for Misty.
I even tried to annoy him by not telling him where she is and it was a very good thing that Yvan told him where she is because if he didn't, Granny would have been in grave danger together with Lara and Misty right now.
I'm just thankful that Eros went there.
I never even thought that my naughtiness almost put my Granny in danger. I held on tight to Lucas "Thank you for coming" I whispered as I gulp and tears fell from my eyes for the nth time.
I tighten my grip to his arms "Even if you knew that I am his Queen, even if you knew that I know Misty is fake" I said as I sob in his chest. "You came even though you knew I lied and I'm sorry, I'm sorry Lucas" I whispered between my sobs.
He pat me on my back as he hug me back. He didn't say a thing nor scolded me because of that, he just stayed quiet as he hug me while patting my back and I liked that, It was comfortable.

I am currently sitting at the passenger's seat of Lucas' car while he is beside me. Yvan was in the other car behind us while the other reinforcements who came are following us.
While we're on our way home, Mr Jackson's dead body was sent to the morgue, its just so unfortunate that Mr Jackson doesn't have any family but I will make sure that he will have a decent funeral.
The other Rebels that Serafin left died in the scene while the others we're apprehended and was sent to the Hybrid prison with maximum security.
They need to be tortured by the Hybrid system before they get themselves killed, that's the Hybrid punishment that gives justice to Mr Jackson's life, my only concern is that I do not know what will happen to Misty and Lara, If they will also face the same punishments that the Rebels receive.
"But Lucas" I said as I call for his attention.
"How did you know that the Rebellion empire will ambush me?" I asked as I look at Lucas.
Lucas smirked "You called me right?" Lucas said as he smile.
"Well yeah I did, but it was a voice mail and I thought you didn't open it" I asked showing him my curiosity "And the time won't be enough if you got the information from my voice mail, you don't even know the location. Don't joke around Lucas, what happened? How did you know?" I asked as I lock my gaze to him.
Lucas sighed "You really ask a lot baby girl" He said as he flash his amused face.
"It was because of Eros, just as I said earlier, Eros came to your granny's house. It was a very good thing that he came to your granny's house at the perfect time. He was able to save your granny and Misty and he was able to inform me about what had happened" Lucas explained as he stare at me.
"At the same time, some survivor from your security team one was able to escape from the rebels when Serafin and his right hand man left them, they we're able to defeat the rebels who are guarding them but unfortunately some of your security team
one, two and three died because some of them are spies planted by Serafin himself" Lucas said in a bitter tone.
"Your security team told me what happened and how they got busted by the rebellion empire that's why I knew that you we're in danger, I last received your voice mail when we we're already on our way for you. Unfortunately, we're a little late that Mr Jackson died on the scene trying to protect you" Lucas explained as he stare at me.
I sighed as I avoid his gaze "I'm sorry" I whispered making Lucas to chuckle.
"What are you sorry about Cass?" Lucas asked as he look at me.
"I'm sorry for everything, sorry that I lied and I'm sorry that I pretended, because of that Mr Jackson died" I said in a very bitter tone as I avoid his gaze.
"You didn't lie to me Cass because I never asked you, afterall, just like what you said from the call. You we're forced to stay beside me and act as a spy because he threatened to kill your family, I'm actually thankful about that because I was able to meet my mate. You know that its hard to meet an Alpha's mate because there's only one person for us. In fact there's a lot of Alphas who failed to meet their mates Cass" He said as he brags that he met me because of Serafin.
But this is not a situation to brag of.
"This is not something to brag about Lucas" I said.
Lucas chuckled "And you didn't disclose any key information about the Hybrid Empire to the Rebellion empire anyway, maybe your only sin is helping the leader of the hunters to escape from us and that is what we need to talk about later on" Lucas said.
"S-speaking of Lara, how about her? Was she also saved? Eros was able to save her too right?" I asked but after saying that he suddenly kept quiet.
"Lucas?" I asked as I wait for his response.
It took him a while before he could even answer me, he sighed "Unfortunately Cass, the Rebellion Empire managed to capture her. Eros only managed to save your Granny and Misty" Lucas said leaving me petrified and speechless.
Lara was caught by the rebels, no way, what should I do?
"We- we need to save her Lucas. Serafin will either kill her or use her against us" I said as I show him my concern.
Lucas smiled and held my hands "Relax Cass and don't stress out yourself. For now, you need to be treated properly and you need to rest. We will talk about the concern of the leader of the hunters ones everything is fixed and settled properly okay" Lucas said as he try to calm me down.
"From your suggestion on the phone, we also need to screen all the ones serving the Hybrid Empire because just like what you said, there's a lot of spies that Serafin planted in the Hybrid Empire that I didn't know that some of them are your security teams" Lucas explained still holding my hands.
I smiled as I lean backwards, as we ride back home, I remembered what happened earlier.
I promise and will swear that Mr Jackson's death will never go to waste, Serafin will have to pay the price of what he did. If Mr Jackson's death is the price of my betrayal to him then his fall will also be the price of Mr Jackson's death.
I sighed as my eye lids start to close and then I was slowly being dragged by the spirit of sleep.

I woke up in a very unfamiliar white room, I tried to look around and all I can see is a table beside me with flowers on top of it, a couch on the side and a hospital apparatus connected to me.
I sat down to see my surroundings properly, am I in a private room of a hospital? Just how many hours did I fall asleep?
"So you're awake" I heard someone's voice from somewhere and then suddenly Misty came out from the comfort room I guess.
"Finally you woke up, so how are you feeling? Much better?" Misty asked as she shows me her smile while she dries her hands with a towel.
I was confused after seeing Misty, yesterday she was full of wounds and bruises because of the tortures she received but why are her wounds gone now? Did she perform any rituals or some kind of magic?
"What happened to your bruises? Why are they easily healed?" I asked making Misty raise her eye brows.
"Well I'm not saying that your bruises shouldn't heal but its just fascinating and mysterious to see it gone in just 48 hours, how did you manage to lose all of your wounds in just a day?" I asked as I show her my confusion.
Misty sighed and sat down beside me "Of course you will wonder, Cass you we're asleep for seven consecutive days so obviously my wounds will heal while you're asleep" Misty said as my eyes grow wide.
"Se-seven what? You mean seven hours? Not days?" I said denying the reality that I slept for seven days.
Misty chuckled because of what I said "Seven days Cass, seven days, you we're asleep for freaking seven days okay" Misty said as she laugh at me.
"Seven consecutive what?!? Are you serious? You're not joke timing me right? How did I end up sleeping for seven freaking days?" I asked raising my voice.
"I don't know, how should I even know. You should ask yourself and why are you getting angry at me" Misty said.
"B-but what about my granny? Where is she? Is she safe and you what about you? What did they do to you? What is the hybrid's decision about you, what did they say? And Lara? What happened to Lara? And oh what about Mr Jackson? How is his funeral? And where's Lucas?" I asked as I organize my thoughts trying to ask her everything that I need to know and everything that I missed in that seven freaking days.
Misty chuckled making me more curious "What the hell, don't laugh Misty and answer me. I need to know everything" I said in a desperate tone.
"Chill Cass, don't be too worked out and how should I answer you when I don't even know where to start? Can you ask me one by one" Misty said as she annoy me.
I rolled my eyes "Okay, where's my Granny? Is she okay?" I asked calming myself.
Misty nod "Yup she is, she even visits you here twice every day and she just visited you earlier, She left an hour after you wake up. The Alpha had him in Hybrid mansion the day when the ambush happened" Misty said as she pause.
"Granny stayed there for 30 hours straight but she insisted that she needs to go back to her house. Since she is the mate's elder, the Alpha needs to agree and just like what you said and ordered, they raised her security level to VIP 1 to make sure that what happened to us there seven days ago will never happen again" Misty explained as she stare at me.
"And to tell you, Granny was so worried about you that she comes here everyday twice even though her house is so far from here. I just don't understand why she insists to stay there even though its dangerous for her. I would really think that she's hiding golds and diamonds there" Misty joked.
I sighed "Yeah, I also wonder and ask her what is the reason why she choose to stay there more than living with me in the Hybrid Mansion even though she knows that her life is at stake there but she doesn't even answer me" I said as I give out my second sigh.
"What about the Hybrids? What is there decision? What did they say about you and what did Lucas do as your punishment. They say that death is the punishment for a betrayal but seeing you here, it seems like you escaped death yourself" I said as I stare at her.
"Or d-don't tell me its postponed. I'm thinking it wrong right Mist?" I asked with an unsure tone.
Misty laughed so hard that I start to wonder if she's still sane or what.
"Lets say that the Beta and most especially the Alpha helped me escape death. They properly explained both my situation and yours to the members and high ranking members of the Hybrid empire. It was really a good thing that you explained to them properly what we're going through so that they can also see not only the bad thing that we've done but also the sacrifices that we need to do" Misty explained.
"Wait, no one opposed? It's too impossible that no one opposed. Even though the Alpha and the Beta is involved here, there will always be someone who will oppose the idea of sparing both you and me" I said.
Again Misty chuckled and I'm starting to get annoyed.
"Of course there are some who opposed, we can never av
oid it anyway but the Alpha and the Beta also tackled our contribution to the Empire. They said that because of us, they manage to remove and eradicate the spies in the Hybrid Empire. I knew all the spies that Serafin planted in the Hybrid Empire and because of that, the Hybrid Empire manage to identify who the spies are and they we're all beheaded yesterday" Misty said as she explains what happened.
"Since you chose to fight with the Hybrid Empire, I also chose to do so. Since you chose not to get scared for your family, I also chose to do so. Unfortunately, my family can't receive thesame protection that your family received because I was removed as the Cardinal and became a mere human civillian" Misty said making my eyes grow big.
"Wait what?!? What the hell? That's unfair, I need to talk to Lucas" I said as I try to jump out of the bed but before I could even leave, Misty held my arms as she smile.
"Chill Cass, I'm not yet done speaking duh" She said as she laugh.
"Misty are you nuts, your family could have been in danger right now, what in the freaking hell are you doing?! Why are you here? You should be with them" I said.

Trust the One Deserves
"Since you chose to fight with the Hybrid Empire, I also chose to do so. Since you chose not to get scared for your family, I also chose to do so. Unfortunately, my family can't receive thesame protection that your family received because I was removed as the Cardinal and became a mere human civillian" Misty said making my eyes grow big.
"Wait what?!? What the hell? That's unfair, I need to talk to Lucas right now!!" I said as I protest trying to jump out of the bed to see Lucas but before I could even leave, Misty held my arms as she smile.
"Chill Cass, I'm not yet done speaking, can't you just let me speak first before you could even react all you want" She said as she laugh.
I chuckled "Misty are you nuts, your family could have been in danger right now, what in the freaking hell are you doing?! Why are you even here when you should be with your family right now" I said.
