She was biting her lips repeatedly and letting her tongue flop wildly as she tried to control herself under the extreme pressure of this moment. I wrapped her in my arms and held her tightly against me to comfort her, as I continued to buck my hips and enter her quivering body. She was so tight that it was hard to get back in as her inner working clamped down on me, but I persevered.
And when we finally collapsed on top of each other totally unhinged and totally raw, exposed, I knew that I’d found the woman that I wanted to spend my life with. There was just nothing else in the world that ever could have made me this happy or this fulfilled. I was totally at peace for the first time in my life. Lying there with this sweet angel, this woman that I had already fallen for, I knew my life would never be the same. I’d read things, I’d heard things about what it was really like to meet that one person who would forever be your soulmate, what a defining moment in your life that would end up being, and how all-encompassing that would actually be, but it couldn’t have prepared me for this. Nothing could have. No amount of talking, no amount of hearing the right words ever would have shown me what was actually in store for me when this moment did happen.
And I couldn’t wait for the next step. What was going to happen next?
Chapter Twelve
Alexa
“Wow, that sounds amazing!”
I smiled as I threw a sloppy kick at the heavy bag in front of me. I’d gotten up early and decided to head to the dojo. Kip had already left for his day and he was nice enough to leave me a note telling me that he had enjoyed the night we’d had and he couldn’t wait to see me again. I wished he’d woken me up though. I would have liked to see him again that morning and maybe even made love again. I knew he was in a hurry, but I was sure I could have persuaded him to stay for a bit longer…
I smiled at the thought. What had happened between us had been purely instinctual. It was like something out of a dream. It wasn’t real. Something that felt that good couldn’t have been real. I’d gone over to Kip’s place just to talk and before I knew it we were making sweet love in his bed. And I was feeling things that I’d never felt before. I couldn’t stop thinking about it and reliving it, even as I was trying to get some freestyle work in on the bag.
Megan, a good friend of mine from the dojo, was there working out with me that morning. I was literally bursting at the seams to tell someone about my night, and I’d been talking to her lately a bit about my issues with Billy and this guy I was kind of interested in named Kip. She was fun and easy to talk to about things. In some ways, I felt I could open up to Megan in ways that I couldn’t open up to Lilly or Kiley.
I repositioned myself and threw a few solid kicks to the bag to improve upon the last few. “Good,” Megan said.
“Yeah, I just don’t know how it happened so fast, but I’m starting to have real feelings for this guy. It’s too soon, right?”
“Well, it depends,” Megan said. “Sometimes you just meet that right person. That’s what happened with me and Rick. We got together and then we were inseparable from the moment we met. It’s been five years and we are on the cusp of marriage. So, life is funny like that. You always get what you need when you least expect it. And a lot of times you don’t know you need this thing until you do. So, don’t dismiss it. You have to be open and receptive. Don’t turn your back on something great because you aren’t sure. You have to allow time to develop before you can really know.”
Her words hit home with me and actually made a good bit of sense. I was glad that I had Megan as a friend. “I agree. That’s a good way to look at it. But there is a problem here. Billy is not going to let this go. That Neanderthal is just going to keep causing problems until Kip beats his brains in.”
“Well, maybe that is what he needs. Billy is something you can deal with. He will not learn until it is painful for him to keep doing things the way he does. He is one of those people that can only be beaten with force.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of. If Billy does cause that type of trouble for Kip, it might mean that they’d both be kicked off the football team. That might ruin Kip’s chances of playing pro ball, and he is so good. I’d hate to see that happen. I… I’m not sure what I’d do if his chances were ruined because of me.”
“It wouldn’t be because of you. It’s that jerk, Billy. I’m surprised your parents even put up with him.”
“Well, that’s a different story. They keep him around for some reason and they try to give him the benefit of the doubt. But there is only so much that they can put up with. I see it happening one day. My dad will eventually put his foot down and kick him to the curb. And then I can get that jerk out of my life.”
“Right. But do you think Billy is stupid enough to hurt himself in the process of trying to control your life? I mean, if he gets kicked off the team then it doesn’t hurt you; it hurts himself, right?”
“Yeah, but he is such a psycho that he isn’t going to think about that. Hell, he already had a fight with Kip in the locker room. Luckily the coach is giving them second chances.”
“Who won?” Megan asked with a grin.
“Billy’s nose was all messed up, so I’d say Kip showed him a thing or two. But Kip isn’t the type of guy to brag about a fight.”
“Isn’t he supposed to be conceited or really cocky?” Megan asked.
I looked at her shocked. “Hey! That’s not fair.”
She smiled. “I’m just asking a question. I’ve heard a few of the rumors, too.”
“Well, I’m not sure what you’ve been hearing, but Kip is actually a very nice guy. He can be cocky at times, but I’ve not seen him be truly arrogant. I think he puts some of that on to keep people at bay.”
“Really? Why?”
“Well, growing up in the spotlight as he did because of his father, he kind of developed a cynical way of looking at the world. He has some trust issues and he really hates celebrity and fame.”
“But he wants to be an NFL football player.”
“Yeah, so that is something that he is going to have to deal with eventually.” I laughed. “It isn’t something we’ve really spoken about yet.”
“So, do you feel different since you’ve essentially made it with a rich, famous guy?” Megan asked.
“No. Kip isn’t famous. His dad is. Don’t forget that. And I don’t care about his money.”
“I know you would never go with a guy because of his money, but it has to feel nice to that a guy has money, right? You are still going to reap some of the benefits. You will probably go to nice restaurants, you will ride around with him in a nice car, and you will possibly be invited to some Hollywood party at some point, right?”
I rolled my eyes. “I doubt that Kip would ever attend such a party. As for the other things, maybe… yes… oh, hell I don’t know. I haven’t given it that much thought. I care about Kip for who he is. And I realize we barely know each other, which is what makes it so bizarre. And I have to admit that I’m a bit scared. I’m not sure that I can deal with these crazy emotions that I’m having. I mean, there is no way that he is feeling this way, right?”
Megan took a few jabs on the heavy bag and followed it up with an elbow and knee combo. “Well, how do you know that? Have you talked to him about your feelings?”
“No,” I said. “I don’t want to freak him out. If he isn’t feeling the same way or if he is and thinks it’s too soon then I sure as hell don’t want to screw things up. I just got out of a relationship that I screwed up and I don’t want to ruin this one before it even gets started.”
Megan stared at me with wide eyes. “What the hell are you saying? You had nothing to do with what Jeremy did. That was his fault. You do not really blame yourself do you? That is preposterous.”
I stared at her and realized that she was right. What was I saying? “Um… I don’t. At least, I didn’t think that I did. What in the world am I thinking? That just kind of slipped out. Why would I feel that way?”
“It happens
sometimes. We want to believe the good in other people, so that gives other people the license they need to make us think their faults are our own.”
“Wow, that’s deep. How did you learn all of this?”
She laughed. “I’ve been through a lot of stuff in my time. You live and you learn. You are a young one. You will get there.”
Megan was twenty-five, but wise beyond her years. I was surprised that we had as much in common and were such good friends despite our age difference, but she was one of those people that was always there for me when I really had something I was trying to get a handle on. I liked the fact that she was not friends with my other friends. It was something that was kind of, just mine. It was a wonderful friendship.
“Thanks,” I said. “So, what should I do about Kip? Should I just play it cool and act like I don’t care what happens with us? Or should I go all hands on deck with this one?”
“Well, it’s not high school, so games are not to be played. That stuff is so silly. If you like someone then it’s acceptable to let them know how you feel. If they don’t feel the same then you can stop wasting each other’s time. In real life people know quickly how they feel about someone. They can’t make someone like them and slowly create this image in someone’s mind until they eventually have some type of epiphany and they realize that you are the one they want. No. It doesn’t work. You need to just go for what you want and keep trying.”
“Ok,” I said. “Then I’ll do my best to just let Kip know that so far this thing between us is wonderful.”
“Good,” she said.
We continued to work out for a bit. After I was done, I went to my car and got ready to drive home. I noticed that I had a text from Kip. I almost flipped out when I saw the picture. He was standing there completely nude with nothing but a sock over his package. Wow… he was so hot. And the fact that he covered up his member but the rest of his body was naked was so much hotter and funnier than if he’d sent a vulgar dick pic.
“You are so fine!” I texted back. I figured when I got home I might have to put together a picture that was equally as hot and send it to him.
I drove home and went to my room. I was just getting into some of the work I was behind on when Billy burst through my door. He was as angry as I’d ever seen him. I ignored him for a few moments while he stood there huffing and puffing like some moron. What was his problem, really?
I continued working on editing a video I’d shot over the weekend to get it ready to be uploaded. “Can I help you with something?” I asked.
“Where the hell were you last night?” Billy demanded.
“None of your business,” I said.
“You had mom and dad worried sick. You didn’t come home until just now. You don’t think that is my business?”
I laughed. “No, it’s not. Now piss off.”
“I demand to know where you were,” Billy said. “You will not disrespect my parents’ home that way.”
“Are you kidding me? You know how much you disrespect them and everybody else? Please. Let me alone. You are being a total ass.”
“You were with Kip, weren’t you? You were fucking him, weren’t you? What kind of a whore are you?”
I stood up and glared at him. “You’d better watch what you say to me. Dad will kick you out this time. You are skating on thin ice. You remember that, you arrogant, psychotic prick. You are dead to me. I want you out of my life. Stay as far away from me as you can. We are done.”
Billy seemed a bit put off by what I’d said, as if the words had actually struck home. But this only lasted for a second. Then he was right back to his normal self.
“I’m going to kill that bastard,” Billy said. “This bullshit stops now!”
Then he left my room slamming my door behind him. I sat there for a few moments wondering what I’d have to do to get this idiot out of my life for good. How could he continue to have such an impact on my life? Why wouldn’t my parents just kick him out already. They knew how he treated me. And he treated them badly at times as well.
I listened as Billy got in his car and drove away. He was going to do something stupid. I had to let Kip know.
I called Kip. He answered on the third ring. “Hey, sexy. How’s it going?”
“Listen, Billy is on his way to find you. He is enraged. He knows about last night… and he is flipping out. I’m not sure what he is going to do, but I thought I’d give you a heads up about it.”
Kip laughed. “Ok. No problem. Let the little bitch find me. I hate to do I since he is your brother, but you might not recognize his face when I’m done with him. He’s had ample warning.”
“Go for it,” I said. “But try to keep it out of the locker room. You can’t let that moron get you into trouble.”
“Yeah, I won’t. I’ll be fine, sweetie,” He said. “So, about last night… that was amazing. I can’t wait to see you again. Want to come over tonight? I might make us a nice, romantic meal.”
“Oh, you cook?” I asked. I was impressed.
“I dabble. I have a few dishes I can surprise you with.”
“Well, that would be fantastic,” I replied.
“Great. Can you be here at six?”
“Sure,” I said.
As I ended the call, I had to wonder if Kip would be able to make it. I knew that he could handle himself against Billy, but would he be able to take on several of Billy’s goons that he hung around with? There was no way that Billy would allow a fair fight to happen. He was too chicken.
I tried to concentrate on work but I couldn’t help being utterly distracted. I wished that Billy could just leave me alone and let me live my own life. What in the hell was it to him who I dated? The man was an idiot. He had a definite problem or two and probably needed to speak to a professional therapist.
Chapter Thirteen
Kip
I arrived at practice with my eyes peeled for Billy and his cronies. I knew the jerk well enough to know what to expect. I wasn’t sure if he was going to start something at practice again or if he’d wait until we were somewhere else where he might have more leverage and a lesser chance of being in trouble. The guy was as yellow as the sun. What a joke.
It felt good to talk to Alexa again. When I woke up that morning with that beautiful, naked woman in my bed, I instantly thought about waking her up for another round, but she looked so peaceful that I was not going to bother her the way she was. I stood and watched her beauty for several minutes, just admiring the piece and how lucky I was to have this woman in my life now. I had never felt more alive.
I sat down and wrote her a brief note, which I left on the pillow beside her. Then I headed off to class. I had a busy day ahead of me. After a morning full of classes where I couldn’t concentrate, I grabbed a quick bite for lunch, and now I was going to head to the gym before practice.
I expected to see Billy already there lying in wait for me, but all I saw was the coaching staff and a few of the other guys arriving to get a workout in. Alexa had sounded so concerned, so scared on the phone when she’d called. I hated to hear her sound that way. I really cared for her and I wasn’t about to let her worry herself about me and my safety. If Billy really had it in for me because I was now with his sister, then I was going to give him the surprise of all time. I would squash him into a billion pieces until his own mother wouldn’t recognize him. I was tired of his bullshit.
I’d just finished getting dressed and was sauntering over to the weight room when I saw Billy walking towards me with a few of his friends. None of my friends were really there yet, but there were a few other guys who would probably break things up if they got serious. Billy was too stupid to try to take care of this somewhere else. Part of his issue was he loved to have an audience for things like this. It perpetuated his image as legit tough guy who ruled the roost. It was idiotic. The guy was pathetic. And he was about to get hurt.
“You son of a bitch!” Billy growled at me.
“Billy, how’s it going?”
I said good-naturedly.
“You think it’s funny to dog out my sister? Is that funny?”
“I’m not dogging anyone out. Your sister and I have a good thing going and it has nothing to do with you. This is your last warning. Step off.”
Billy laughed. He looked shocked as if I’d slapped him. “Oh, you are giving me a warning? That’s rich… wow… the nerve of this guy…”
I saw what was about to happen next. I knew it was coming and I braced myself to get ready for it. This moron was going to try to swing on me again. Apparently, he did not get the message last time. No, this time I was going to go all out on him and bust him up. If that stupid coach tried to mess with me, I’d have him out on his ass within minutes. He knew better.
Billy was as obvious and predictable as they came. His shoulder dropped, telegraphing his move and his weight shifted ready to hurl himself into the punch. By the time he was swinging forward, I was already stepped off to the side of him where I quickly delivered a hard jab to his nose while simultaneously throwing a hard front kick into the solar plexus of Dane Gould, one of his friends who was there to watch and to get involved when needed. He never saw it coming. His body collapsed and he fell to the ground gasping for his breath.
Meanwhile, Billy was holding his nose and trying to recover from the blood that was already spewing from it as I kicked him hard in the inner thigh. Most people are never expecting to get kicked in the leg and they have no idea how badly it hurts until it happens. It feels like your muscles are being torn off the bone and your whole sense of stability is now completely gone.
Billy wailed as he staggered backwards.
I saw Ronnie Bowman coming from the other side to assist his friends. The second my foot came down to the ground from kicking Billy’s thigh, that momentum was bouncing the leg back up in the air and turning into a side kick right as he opened himself up to throw his own right handed haymaker. My side kick caught him right under the ribs where they met his core and his body quickly fell to the ground.
