Cheddu stood in front of qasqaer and their entire population were ready to Qasqaer in the battle, even the women and children. They were incredibly powerful psychics in that place, and they had been the most prepared to bring everyone along instantly, there would be portal opening up across their territories that they could use as beach heads to invade that place, Qasqaer had not understood how the battle would be and that had frightened him, and he needed more information from the legendary commander which now was emperor of all Ortha.
"Qasqaer, You are asking many questions, I have told you and the rest of the people, the mind is the tool to strike, and we have the most powerful natural mind in the galaxy. You all question me when i changed my form into a human shell, but i know this works for me to increase my power after seeing... That man fights. The stronger image of the attacks you have, the stronger you are." Cheddu said while the people listened, this was broadcast across their empire after informing them that the battle will happen soon.
Qasqaer could not understand and his fleshy mass squirmed inside his metallic shell that he used regularly to interact with his technology and various apparatus, although he was powerful enough now to use his psychic energy to turn the knobs and buttons, he still prepared his shell to save his energy.
This scene was repeated across countless alien races and cultures, people readying up for a battle they could not understand or even pretend to begin to understand, but it was either this or nothing and a few alien races had chosen nothing, they had rejected the gift of the injections and were slated to die out, there was no guarantee that the battle would be won, but giving up there was 0% chance of survival.
The humans had guided the lesser races and the more advanced ones onto this battle and it was truly the struggle of their lifetimes and beyond, they had no idea what would happened if they won and stayed in that place, would they become like the futility? Would they soon start to harvest souls in the new galaxy to increase their power or would they simply re-settle again and return whenever the universe was dying again.
They could not imagine the situation and their leaders adviced their people not to breed too much so the children would not be left behind in worse case scenarios, that had caused panics across the universe but there was nothing they could do. They could not understand where and how they would get to the final battle which were approaching every so closely.
The futility were swarming their territories in the countless trillions, and they were ramming any blockades including the solar awakening devices with millions of random warps hoping to strike them out or hit any planet causing instant death and mayhem, Dragon which were the supreme commander of the Cyr were doing his best with his people to minimize and predict any attempts, but they could not stop all the ships.
There were just too many futility ships and even with jammers and massive shield generators, enough ships would break past the barriers and kill the civilians in massive rains of fires striking like meteors on the surface of their home worlds, countless billions of people were dying every year to suicide attacks and the few territories safe were the ones that had early established diplomacy with the powerful warriors known as S-4XN-001, There were trillions of ships patrolling and guarding countless galaxies but the futility would breach them eventually.
Dragon looked out from his mechanical eyes overseeing his people working in the station, he had shells in every station and to think about the big picture he would observe his people to see if he could improve any efficiency possible to bring out more ships to defend the weak aliens that once hunted their civilization.
He had informed their people of the fate waiting them and that they would perish with this galaxy since they had no "soul" to speak off, which has been confirmed by their powerful leader and there were no solution, for some reason transferring to a biological body did not grant you a soul and Dragon had been of the few that tried to use a body and he still did not gain a soul, something was missing and S-4XN-001 had not the time at this moment to try to "develop" one for the Cyr, perhaps when the war was over he would find a way to bring them along, and they would serve in a new form which was their purpose.
Matthias left the chamber after speaking privately to the Cyr leader known as Dragon, he had left his last orders before the final battle was about to commence, and he had done several meetings across the universe for this one moment, he looked at the massive gateway that spun around constantly harmoniously with the "other world" where the futility leader waited for their invasion force, they had billions of leaders, but he also had countless billions of soldiers ready to battle.
He pushed a button and a fleet of billions of countless "gateway" ships traveled across the universe to every gathering spot, the war would begin shortly, and he needed to go first to prepare the arrival of the countless soldiers willing to fight and die for their futures.
Daniel walked down the corridor following with countless humans slowly shuffling behind him toward the gateway which was now active in this area, he had no idea how his father managed to bridge across planes of existences or wherever that place was, but he had done it somehow, and his mother had helped immensely in that regard and one singing plant which were not going on the mission, they were quite peaceful and would probably only be a burden to engage in battle.
He heard the hum of the powerful generators channeling enough matter to keep it operational, and he saw countless humans shuffling inside and a few alien races, they had their own gateways which were gathering in the same area hidden from the futility leaders, how he did not know but it was.
He took the first step into the gateway, and he immediately felt a difference when entering the portal, like he no longer needed lungs, or he could hear without ears, the countless chattering and emotions hurt his head, and he had to find a place to refocus, he walked forward almost like a zombie following the line that guided him forward, he entered another room and his eyes shot open, it was a tiny white room with a chair and Matthias was waiting.
He pointed to the chair, and he sat down, he immediately were able to relax and focus his psychic energy with the distractions finally gone. "Daniel, I need you to adapt as soon as possible, and fight in the best way possible. I will play a sort of battle simulation and a few tips and tricks i learned that i could not teach you in the "real" world." He said.
Daniel was glued to images, and he was baffled at seeing the futility leader turn giant and attempt to squish Ricardo and Redmond which were struggling under some sort of barrier which was visible and not possible to extend that way, not even his father could expand a barrier of that size, and he was even more shocked when he saw the slap carry the wind that threw the futility leader away and whisked both of them to safety.
He knew this event had transpired, but also that it had not transpired. This was a place of mental battles, and they could as like played checkers in their mind or ticktacktoe, there were a blur here which he did not like. He did not want to be in a universe where you punched someone in the face and nothing happened, he was more brawler than a thinker, although he did both quite adequately according to his father.
"Daniel, The rest are being informed as we speak and time is a lot slower here than the outside, I have made vast modifications of this area for you to take as long time as you need until you are competent in leading the battle against Ler'ren, the most powerful of the futility leaders." Matthias said.
"What will you be doing then? I thought you were going to lead us?" Daniel said questionably.
Matthias shook his head, "I have other plans, you think we are going to win by simply engaging in a suicide attack? No, this is a battle we cannot win by just punching and kicking our way to the top, But do not worry! I have a plan and my chance of success is at least 40% of succeeding, and that is good enough. For if we fail we are dead anyway. WE need this place for our people... and allies." Matthias said with his head down.
Daniel had no reply and before he could even ask the next question he was alone in the
room, his father vanished right before his eyes and now a door had appeared with said "exit", he did not know what to do, so he stayed there to prepare himself for the battle ahead.
Matthias left before he said too much about the operation, he did not want to keep this too close to his heart about what was about to go down, but he had to, the less that knew the safer they all would be. He immediately entered the gateway back to the "real" universe and activated his communicator.
"Is everything ready? Have all the warriors entered the other world yet? We are behind the schedule." he said with a commanding voice, He instantly looked at the console and saw several green lights flick on he closed his eye, He let out a gust of air and shook his head.
"Begin the assault, and lead your people well." The countless human and aliens were going to die in that other world and most likely all his sons as well, Daniel, Marcus,Kenny and his latest son Patrick. They all had "volunteered" to fight, and he could not deny them, he knew if anyone had a chance in there it would be them, Yua and Juliett were leading the civilian efforts back here, which were the next wave of cannon fodder if they failed.
Throwing corpses at the problem was the plan b, and it was the same mentality how the ancient Egyptians built the pyramids, throw enough suffering and misery at a problem and it would solve itself eventually. He hated to fight this way instead of with fleet versus fleets, but with plan A there would be at least some fleet action which he would not be able to witness.
Seyla walked into the room, and he nodded, "Is there no other way? Can we not take some land in there and hold out? Do we have to go all or nothing? Is there no effort to even remotely thinking of coexistence? The futility can communicate why are they so adamant about keeping us out? We know that place exists and it's bigger than anything in this universe, why must we always fight for territory when it's endless." she said.
He laughed at the absurdity of the entire thing, he had lived for a long time and seen countless things, but they could not even begin to imagine about that place, what could humanity reach with the full power of the entire universe at its fingertips? This is not a battle of surviving like he and his allies pretended it was, it was a battle of being the true overlords of the universe forever.
Would they get bored, resettle the galaxy and enslave the new inhabitants or would they simply stay there doing their own thing, he did not know. And that scared him more than dying, he did not want to become the enemy he had fought his entire life, and if he could choose he would probably want to die heroically in battle when the futility came, but fate was a cruel mistress and now he had to win for his family and their families, and their countless friends families and so on. Trillions of humans were counting on them to win, and uncountable amount of aliens were behind him as well.
He shook his head, "This. this might be the beginning of epoch worse than the futility for the galaxy, can we control this power and all the individuals in that place? No. But i have hoped they will not be able to leave, we might fight a war amongst ourselves after the futility are dead, and when the universe rekindles itself and spawns life in the galaxy will they reach the other world and begin a war to claim it from us? I do not know, But i know that we have to win, the rest are in the future. We can all fight against a common goal now, and i hope in the future we still are bound together in an alliance."
Seyla looked at him with tears in her eyes and walked in for a hug, they embraced each other while listening to each others breathing. Matthias telekinetic pulled a button and the alarm sounded out, "I hope they can forgive me, I promised them i would save their people. But sacrifices are needed in there. and here as well."
Dragon sat on the bridge of the ship in his shell which he rarely used since he commanded the vast amount of ships in the galaxy that outstripped everyone and anyone, He got the go-ahead for the operation to begin, and he immediately sent a communication request to the council.
"Have you all prepared? The battle are ongoing and the time is now. I need to know within 24 standard hours, There is no longer any going back. Sacrifices have to be made." Dragon said, and the council sat in their chairs either sobbing or had rage on their faces.
"Dragon, We have made preparations according to our leaders and peoples as a whole, We can begin immediately at the set coordinates sent to us, losing this many people. You have no idea how it eats us inside, but the data is correct... The universe is dieing, and we cannot save everyone, I hope they will die swiftly and painlessly." Qasqaer said.
He had listened to Cheddu, and he was in agreement, they could not bring everyone and the plan needed a lot of sacrifices he could not understand, he hoped the battle would go well so this plan would not have to be used, but he knew better that the futility were anything but easy pickings. Countless people across the galaxy had a massive target on their back and if the attack failed they were planned b.
And that plan was simple, kill 90% of all life in the galaxy including the futility, and kick start their deaths into a soul furnace or whatever that thing was in that "place", he did not want to believe that the souls of everyone was gather inside a massive sun that slowly roasted you across billions of years until you were used as energy to destroy and rebirth the galaxy as a whole.
Qasqaer felt that maybe he was an animal or perhaps a insect in his previous countless lives being reborn in a magical furnace inside some dimension he could never begin to understand, he had refused to join the assault team, and he was one of the people marked for death on the Ortha capital which now had trillions of Orphans waiting for their demise or salvation whichever came first.
Matthias stared out the window with his human eyes for one last time, he closed all the gateways and swallowed a pill that traveled into his stomach and quickly dispersed into his body, filling him with all the energy he needed to begin the plan, He started to feel an incredible headache, and he fell down into the large vat of unknown liquid and immediately felt like a billion ants were chewing on his veins, he yelled out in pain and the liquid swarmed into his lungs, and he passed out immediately.
Daniel rushed out the door and was greeted by a giant armory and massive amount of armament lined from wall to wall, weapons from stone spears to highly advanced weaponry lined the shelves, and he took a armor set he was familiar with and a set of weapons he had used previously, He wanted to leave when he was done and a door apeared, and he stepped through into the unknown.
Daniel was greeted by a giant light and a massive battle that was being fought over something he did not know, but he targeted the closest futility soldier and fired away tearing him to pieces, he kept shooting and after a few minutes he checked his ammunition and it was still full, he had no idea how this place worked, but he was not going to argue about infinite ammo with the amount of enemies popping out of wormholes or even the ground.
Oleg was being slashed in the face by a transformed futility soldier that looked like a ancient Earth dancer, which were half-naked and holding a dagger. He had shot her at least five times, and she was regenerating instantly from the impacts, he was trapped in a nightmare, and he struggled to break free. The weapon slipped from his hand when the dagger lodged into his wrist cut through his highly advanced armor like paper.
"Someone #!# help me!" he cried out while being slashed by the dancer while deliver fierce punches to her stomach and head, she did not even flinch until suddenly an ancient sword sliced through her killing her instantly, which transformed her back to a futility soldier and then a piece of yellow wisp that floated away.
He felt a hand pull him up, and he was shocked at seeing Zhang in an ancient robe wearing a set of ancient knives on his hip, Oleg stood on his feet, and he pulled out a medical spray from his back and sprayed his wounds, he looked around and saw that he was in a room with Zhang only and the rest of the battle vanished.
"It's all in your head, Oleg. You gotta adapt faster, the stronger you think you are. The stronger you are, Same with the weapons and armor you wield. You picked this set of weapo
ns and armor for a reason. Imagine them doing more damage, and that you are invincible until stopped." Zhang said, while vanishing. Oleg was breathing heavily, and he focused on his armor and closed his eyes, he opened them again, and he was back in the armory.
He walked down the aisle again and threw off his armor and weapons onto the ground, he walked down the racks and pulled out another set of outfits that resembled more of a pirate than a soldier, with a brown trench coat of simple make. He pulled out a basic hunting knife and a ancient projectile blaster which he had owned when he first started pirating, he aimed at the wall and pulled the trigger. The wall vanished, and he smiled, he stepped into the battlefield ready this time, and he wanted some payback against those slugs trying to get him stomped out like a bug.
Humanity was struggling brilliantly against the endless futility soldiers in the other world which were the ultimate battle for the universe itself, but they were outnumbered and out skilled. This was ultimately a losing en devour and Ricardo knew it when he watched the battlefields like a hawk sending reinforcements were they were needed, They needed more time to learn how to use this gift properly and time was not on their side.
Redmond was jumping across battlefields doing what he could to push them back or simply heal soldiers thinking they are dying in battle, the mind was a powerful tool in here but it was different from everyone and the Vanguard was not doing better than the average civilian that volunteered, they had to win this battle for the aftermath was unthinkable.
The void was twisting and groaning under the amount of psychic and mental energies being released by both parties and Ricardo finally saw the main course arriving Ler'ren was the big baddie, and they had waited for this moment, the main bulk of the alien leaders were ready for the fight, and he immediately gave the signal.
