My Secret Daddy (Daddy Knows Best Book 1) Page 13

by Kelly Myers

“You’re gonna do great,” Grace said.

Then she slipped out of the room. I followed her into the vestibule and watched her walk down the aisle with Ben, while the audience murmured in appreciation. He really was the cutest baby.

I already knew I wanted another one. Maybe not right away; I wanted to keep working in some capacity for the farm, maybe help Bridget with the business side of things as it expanded. But eventually. Ben deserved a sibling. Maybe a little sister. I nearly cried at the thought of giving William a little daughter to spoil.

Then the organ picked up, and it was time. My stomach exploded into a flurry of butterflies, and my hands started sweating.

I took a step toward the door and immediately regretted my choice to wear heels. They were low and comfortable, but still. I’m going to fall flat on my face.

No. I had to pull it together. I couldn’t very well run away. A small giggle escaped my lips as I imagined William’s reaction. He would sprint after me in his tux. I wouldn’t even make it out of the small parking lot before he caught up to me.

I stepped out into the aisle, and as soon as I saw him, waiting for me at the altar, all my fears evaporated.

He gazed at me with all the intensity in the world, and as I walked closer, his eyes glimmered with repressed tears, and a smile spread across his face.

  I beamed back.

This was exactly where I was meant to be. This was exactly what I was meant to be doing. For the first time in my life, I felt totally certain about everything.

I looked into William’s eyes, and I got ready to marry the love of my life.
