Finding His Eden Page 4

by Mandy Greenwood

“What they imply, Eden, is that I’ve waited twenty-five years to be able to shower you with gifts.” He raised a hand, brushing away the strands of hair that had fallen over Eden’s face. Caught the shudder of want that passed through Eden, startling him, unable to understand where it was coming from. The bond that had formed between them the moment Eden was born into the world reacting to Alric’s presence; solidifying with each passing minute they spent together. And if he could, Alric would cancel the rest of the days appointments just to spend it with Eden and strengthen their bond further.

“And stop saying that! It isn’t possible, you’d have been all of ten when I was born and if you’re older... well that’s just...” Eden’s voice trailed off as Alric let his eyes shift and his fangs descend.

“Eden, I’ve told you before – and you know I speak the truth even if you don’t want to accept it – I’m over two-thousand years old. I knew the moment you were born into the world... forced to wait until now to do anything about it.”

“No...” Eden’s eyes widened, his voice trembled. Disbelief. Wonder. He raised his hand reaching out to touch Alric’s fangs before snatching his hand back. “...you can’t be. They aren’t real.”

“Who isn’t real Eden?” he grabbed Eden’s hand, guided it back to his mouth and forcing him to see the truth he was so desperate to deny. Resisted the urge to nip Eden’s finger and taste the sweetness of his blood.

“Vampires,” uttered with a breathless exhale. Eden brushed his fingers over Alric’s skin, drawing a ragged moan from him as he leant into the touch. “Vampire’s aren’t real... myths... fairy tales... a thing of nightmares.” Eden’s hand stilled, trembled as his blood pounded erratically in his veins. “But this... you... it’s all real.”

Alric chuckled softly, stepping in closer as he dipped his head and nuzzled at Eden’s neck, tracing along the vein running up his neck that just begged to have Alric’s fangs sink into it. “We are very real.” And maybe tonight he might get that chance; to indulge in the maddening heady flavour that was Eden’s blood. He pressed his lips to the sweet spot at the juncture of Eden’s jaw, suckling at the skin with only merest scrape of his fangs, but it was enough to draw the most delightful whimper from Eden. And the way he angled his head... so. damn. tempting.

But right now, wasn’t the time.

Alric didn’t want to be hurried when he finally drank from Eden. He wanted to take his time and savour each drop; every noise Eden made.

He kissed along Eden’s jaw, grinning as Eden’s hands grabbed a hold of his hips, fingers digging in hard. Tasted his skin. Devoured his lips. Swallowed down the needy whimpers, the begging tumbling from Eden. Alric stepped in closer, nudging Eden’s legs apart and groaned at the feel of the hard cock pressed against his thigh. Wanted the clothes separating them gone, but maybe not here in the lounge. Eden deserved more than the quick fumble that staying here would imply. They needed a bed: comfier and more room to move. Though Alric couldn’t deny that the idea of pushing Eden up against the wall sounded just as good.

“You smell sooo delicious,” he groaned, scraping his fangs down Eden’s neck. “Tempting-” stepping back from Eden and resting his hands, on Eden’s hips. “-dangerously so. But not here. Bedroom.” He let go of Eden long enough to grab a hold of his hand and lead him through the apartment to his bedroom hoping he could keep his urge to bite Eden in check.

Eden stumbled along behind him, hesitant and yet not resisting either as the bond between them slid into place. He needed to know that what was happening Eden wanted, pausing in the doorway of his bedroom and looked back at Eden. Hunger blazed in Eden’s shell-shocked gaze as though he still didn’t quite believe what was happening. Yet the next step had to be taken by Eden, willingly. The last thing he wanted was to spend the rest of his life wondering how much of Eden’s attraction to him was because of the bond, forcing him into a situation he didn’t want. Alric knew it was slim, Eden already proving that he could move independently of the bond’s pull, but he still didn’t want there to be any regrets souring their relationship later.

Alric dropped Eden’s hand and stepped further into the large bedroom. It would have had beautiful views over the city if it had been possible to draw back the heavy curtains covering the windows, he didn’t dare, and it wasn’t as though he couldn’t stare at it from the large specially treated window in his office. This room was meant to be his refuge from the harshness of the midday sun, often sleeping; his nights spent at the suite of rooms he had at the mansion on the outskirts of Silverdale. Maybe he’d take Eden there tonight and show him the lavish quarters filled with trinkets from the past eras Alric had lived through.

He shucked his pants, kicking them to the side as he watched Eden peer into the softly lit room. “It’s your choice, Eden. If you want this... then you only need to step over the threshold.”

Eden’s confusion abated, not disappearing entirely but it wasn’t enough to stop him sucking in a deep breath and striding into the room toward Alric. He wanted to crow with joy as Eden slipped into his arms, seeking out a kiss that was more desperate than the last one. Alric picked Eden up, and threw him on the bed and on clambered after him. He cursed at the tightness of Eden’s jeans, desperate to remove ever last stitch of clothing the man wore. Frustrated, Alric’s body trembled with excitement wanting to be inside Eden, now.

  Chapter Eight

Eden still didn’t believe this was all real. Still struggled to believe that Mr Dray- Alric was a vampire despite having run his fingers over the very real fangs in Alric’s mouth. It could just as easily be a dream. More than likely it was. It wasn’t as though he hadn’t fantasised about what it would be like to meet a vampire... to be bitten by one. Would it happen during or outside of sex? Thoughts that had made studying difficult as he disappeared into them and away from the Folklore he was supposed to be memorising; essays that needed to be written. So, this all being a dream sounded completely plausible.

Except, Eden remembered heading for the offices of the Silverdale Corporation with the intention of returning the gifts Alric sent. Determined to figure out what the deal with Alric was one way or another. And this was definitely... another as Alric loomed over him, pinning Eden to the bed with only a heated gaze that blazed red. Lithe, muscular and oh so very naked. He swept his gaze over him, loving the smattering of hair on Alric’s chest that thickened as travelled south and none of it showing any signs of the man’s real age – supposed age. Yet the way Alric stared at him had Eden’s breath hitched, realising the man might be telling the truth and all that experience would soon be used to turn him inside out.

A low guttural growl was all the warning he got before Alric’s mouth descended on him. Teeth scraped up their way up his throat leaving sparks of electricity dancing over his skin in their wake while fire burned beneath it. He gasped, arching his neck desperate for Alric to bite him; to let Eden finally experience the bliss it would bring. A needy whimper broke free of his lips when Alric merely grinned against his skin and took that tantalising scrape further down his body. He wanted... didn’t realise just how much he did until the moment Alric deprived Eden of it.

He clawed at Alric’s shoulders. Grasped his head. Tried everything he could to bring that mouth back to the throbbing pulse point that ached to have Alric’s fangs sink into it. The only part more desperate to experience Alric’s touch was his hard cock. No longer satisfied with the ghosting touch of Alric’s fingers; his skin, Eden’s hips bucked up desperate for more. He wanted to grind against the hard planes of Alric’s abdomen as his cock slid alongside the ma- vampire’s equally hard arousal. Eden knew Alric was holding back. Showed an extraordinary level of restraint that he couldn’t fathom, and Eden wasn’t above begging to get what he wanted.

“Please...” he begged as Alric moved back up his body. He slid his hands into Alric’s hair and tried to press his mouth harder against his neck.

Alric shuddered, propping himself up on shaking arms, a pained
expression on his face. “Don’t. Please don’t ask me to do that-” Alric paused, brushing a strand of hair plastered to Eden’s face.

But Eden couldn’t understand Alric’s reluctance. Alric’s desperate need to sate a hunger that sex couldn’t achieve on its own hung heavy in the vampire’s burgundy eyes. It was taking all the strength Alric could muster to not sink his fangs into Eden’s throat and take everything... and Eden wanted to give Alric everything he had: his body, his life. A thought that scared him but instead of the panicked fear that it should invoke, Eden only felt calm as though it was only right he offered up his life to Alric.

  “Why... not?”

Alric’s fingers caressed his face. “Because there isn’t enough time. I have a meeting in a two- no in ninety minutes,” he rectified after glancing at the clock on the nearby table. “One I can’t cancel easily. And when I do this-” Alric’s hand shifted, sliding down his jaw and tapping on the pulse point at the juncture; slid further down his neck tapping on the pulse points as he went. “-I want to take my time; spend hours lavishing your body with attention, supping from each pulse point until your whole body is branded with my marks.” Eden moaned at the image being conjured up. He wanted that now. “But I won’t start with your neck, instead here-” pressing against the pulse point in his groin as the colour of his eyes deepened, his restraint weakening and yet Eden knew it wouldn’t break. “-because I want to finish at your neck... listen to you scream my name as I fuck deep inside you while tasting the ecstasy I send surging through you.”

Energy thrummed through Eden, body lighting up with a heat that threatened to consume him. Eden certain he could come by Alric’s words alone. “Fuck... please...soon. Tell me you’ll do that soon.”

Alric chuckled, a rich heavy sound that made Eden shudder. “Don’t worry, I have no intention of waiting long. Tonight, once my meeting is over... all you need to do is stay here in the apartment and wait for me to return.

“But we are going to fuck now?”

“More than once even.” The lecherous grin Alric gave him made all the worse- better by the flash of fang before lowering his head and kissing Eden again.

Passionate. Rough. Lip bruising. And made all the more arousing by the sharp nip of fang that threatened but never quite pierced his skin. Devouring each other’s moans, the needy whimpers that slipped from lips. Erratic breaths that came in ragged panting gasps. And those fangs, Eden couldn’t get enough of them, swiping his tongue over their sharpened points and wishing they’d sink into his flesh. Wanted the hours until Alric’s meeting finished to pass faster so that Alric could do exactly as he promised.

Eden whined as Alric shifted, hissing at the cold air sweeping over his sweat-slick arousal-heated skin. Whimpered as the vampire slid lower down his body pressing kisses into all the places he’d promised to sink his fangs into later. His whole body aflame, and more aroused than he’d ever been before. Air a precious commodity as he struggled to draw it into his lungs. his mouth open-wide in silent screams that left him wondering if he could suffocate just like this as he stared at Alric and watched him swallow his cock down, smirking as he did it.

  Intense.

That’s what made this so different compared to any other man Eden had been with. Alric made everything more intense.

  Each sensation.

  Each movement.

Each emotion rolling through him so much larger than before.

  Exhilarating.

  Addicting.

And it was only the beginning.

“God. Fuck. So...close.” The words tumbled out of his mouth and as Alric pulled back with a snigger, Eden wished he could take it all back. It didn’t matter that Alric reached over to grab a bottle of lube Eden hadn’t noticed sitting on the bedside table – too much else to stare at – but he didn’t fail to miss the lack of a familiar crinkling of foil.

Jolted out of his lust blown haze Eden propped himself up on his elbows and glared at Alric. “Condom, or you can forget it.”

Alric paused, bemused at his statement before chuckling. And it wasn’t something Eden had ever thought of a vampire doing, laughing, they’d always been portrayed as blood-thirsty, angry and sombre, not... a creature that could find joy in the small things in life. And while it wasn’t the first time he’d heard Alric laugh in his presence, Eden didn’t think his asking Alric to use a condom was one that merited such mirth.

“I’m not human. Don’t suffer from the same... inflictions that you do. So, condoms aren’t strictly necessary.”

Eden huffed, fell back on the bed and covered his face with his hands as he thought. Abandoning condoms wasn’t in his nature; drummed into him from the moment he came out as gay, even before that really, his mother reiterating that she didn’t want to be a grandmother to early. His being gay just turned the reminders into one of sexual health. But Alric wasn’t human. Those concerns were irrelevant. Yet Eden still felt uneasy about going bare so recklessly.

“Is... is it important to you? I don’t want to make you uncomfortable, so if it is I will source some for later... it’s not like we can’t do other things for now,” Alric said, hands caressing Eden’s thighs, thumbs deliberately dipping inwards so they brushed against his balls making it hard for Eden to think. “Whatever you want, Eden. It’s your choice.”

He sucked in a harsh breath; exhaled it slowly. “No, it’s okay, we don’t need them. It’s not like I can get pregnant.” Alric’s chuckled softly at his joke, almost strained and Eden stared at him curiously.

He didn’t have to time to ponder over it further as the arousal that had waned while they talked roared back into life. A bonfire blazed in the core of his being consuming the last remnants of his hesitation while the fireworks exploding in his mind drowned at the small voice questioning his decision as Alric slowly worked him open. He clawed at the sheets. Pleaded for Alric to fuck him. Now. Voice stretched thin, devolving into a garbled mess that no longer resembled words as Alric pushed inside of him. The sharp points of fangs pricked at his skin as Alric sucked gently on his neck while thrusting harder, faster, deeper... until the rest of the world faded away and all that mattered was the place where their bodies joined and the guttural groan that ripped from Alric’s throat as he came, spilling his seed inside Eden.

  Chapter Nine

Alric slipped on boxers and pulled his suit pants over his still damp skin while staring at Eden’s fucked out body. He wished he could climb back into bed next to him. But work couldn’t be forgotten or simply put off just because he wanted to curl up in bed with the one he’d waited twenty-five years to become a man. He grabbed a shirt from his closet and buttoned it as he walked out of the bedroom. His bare feet slapped on the hard wood floors as Alric headed for the living area, not at all surprised to find Albie sprawled on the couch, feet propped up on the coffee table and a glass of fortified red wine in his hand.

“So... I’m guessing if I wandered into your bedroom I might find a certain human in your bed-” His eyes twinkled with mirth, and the quirk of his lips told Alric he could forget about this being a short conversation. “-a rather blissfully fucked out human.”

Alric didn’t reply, didn’t need to his grin said it all. He stepped into the kitchen, grabbed a wine glass off the rack, picked up the bottle of wine and tipped the last of it into his glass. Leaning back against the counter, legs crossed in front of him, he dared Albie to comment further, pretty sure nothing that had happened in the apartment would escape his friend’s attention, or his nose.

And Albie didn’t disappoint. “You fucked him... but didn’t drink from him?” surprised etched Albie’s voice, eyes furrowing slightly as his nose flared and he scented the apartment. Alric knew exactly the moment his friend had worked it out as Albie placed his glass on the coffee table a little too heavily, stood up and strode toward him.

  “Does he know?”

“Eden... accepts that I’m a vampire.”

“That is not what I’m asking, and you know it. T
he smell of sex permeating the apartment lacks the undertones of latex which means you didn’t use condoms. So, does Eden know what that means? Does he know that it is one way of turning him into one of us – or at least a dhampyre – that he’ll begin to crave you...desire-”

Alric snarled, “It’s not like he can get pregnant.”

Albie gripped the counter, fingers blanching as he dropped his head and released a heavy sigh. “Not yet... but he’s going to think it strange once you’ve turned him and you all of a sudden start demanding they be used.”

He averted his gaze and shrugged his shoulders; downed the last of the wine in his glass before turning to place it in the sink and headed for the bedroom. Alric needed to finish getting dressed, but Albie stepped in front of him with a fierce glare, placed a hand on his chest in a rare display of strength and pushed Alric back.

“You have to tell him. Explain everything.” Albie sucked in a breath, steadying the fury Alric could see building inside him. “You’ve waited twenty-five years for this, don’t fuck it up by failing to tell Eden something important... something he should have a choice over. Don’t put yourself through the agony of his rejecting you when he learns the truth from someone else later.”

“Is that a threat?” he growled, eyes changing and fangs lowering as Alric pulled back his lips to reveal them. Albie snatched his hand away and stumbled back, head lowering in submission. Alric cursed and tried to drag his emotions back under control. It had been a long time since anger raged through him to the point where even Albie feared him.

“Not threatening, Alric, just pointing out that others within the coven will assume you’ve told Eden and will speak carelessly, casually about our world in front of him.”

Alric exhaled heavily and shoved his hands through his damp hair. Albie was right. It was better Eden learned of it from him rather than stumbling upon the information himself. Eden needed to know that his humorous remark regarding pregnancy wasn’t far from the truth; that once he became a dhampyre – and Alric refused to entertain the possibility that Eden wouldn’t – he could bear Alric children. And the thought of Eden’s abdomen swelling with their child thrilled Alric and he wanted it to happen sooner rather than later.
