He stopped walking for a second before he squeezed her ass again.
“No.”
“Ugh!” She feigned annoyance.
“You know my name.”
Kerena blinked. “Yes.”
“Did I tell it to you?”
“I’m not sure.”
Fuck. She only remembered, somehow, from that time that she’d been snooping on him while in the shower.
“Does it matter?”
“Yes,” he said, and her fingers brushed against some flowers.
She didn’t realize they’d made it back so quickly.
“It matters because now I know,” he said.
“Now you know what?” she asked as he set her down on the bed.
“Now I know you cared enough about me to go snooping into my records.”
Kerena licked her lips. “Do you mind?”
“No, but I should still punish you.”
“Oh.” There was a mischievous look in his eyes and she bit her lips this time. “How?”
“I know just the thing.”
Slipping his hands down her thighs, Ajos grabbed the sides of her dress and pulled it up over her lips.
This time, he licked his lips as he looked down at her and the hunger in his eyes made her heart begin to flutter in her chest.
Ajos settled between her legs as he buried his face into her inner lips, inhaling deep.
It was so carnal, so dirty, but it made her instantly wet.
As he took his first taste of her, his tongue swiping out to lick her, a groan rumbled through his chest.
“This,” Kerena panted, her palms fisting the bedding in anticipation of what was to come, “this doesn’t feel like punishment at all.”
“I’ve changed my mind, Keh-reh-nah,” he growled, and she had to chuckle. “I could never punish you.”
“Why?”
“I’ve decided to pleasure you instead.”
“Why?” Oh, why didn’t she just shut up and take it?
“Because.” Ajos met her gaze and something visibly changed within him.
He climbed up her till he was face to face with her, his gaze boring into hers.
“For many moons, I walked a dark path alone, haunted by my past,” he said. “You’ve changed that for me. You’ve given me purpose to live.”
His words made tears form in her eyes and she reached a hand to caress his cheek.
“My, Keh-reh-nah,” he said, bending so his face was buried in the soft flesh of her neck. “You're everything I want but everything I don't deserve.”
Everything he didn’t deserve…
As Ajos wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close, Kerena knew one thing with clarity.
He was wrong.
In the small amount of time, he’d become her world as much as she’d become his. He was strong, loyal, and he had a good heart. If that wasn’t deserving of her love…she didn’t know what was.
Destiny couldn’t have given her a more suitable mate.
