Bayou Devils MC: The Complete Series Page 128

by A. M. Myers

“God, yes,” she whispers, holding her hand out to me and I slip the ring on her finger before standing and pulling her into a kiss so powerful it could keep these lights blazing all night long. Laughter and clapping greet us from Alice and Brooklyn and Quinn laughs as she pulls back, meeting my eyes. “I love you, you sweet, beautiful man.”

“No more than I love you.”

She’s about to protest when I see Alice hand my second surprise off to Brooklyn and I press my finger to her lips.

  “There’s one more thing.”

She quirks a brow. “Yeah? What’s that?”

I turn her around and point to Brooklyn as she tottles over to us with the envelope in her hands and Quinn peeks over her shoulder at me with a questioning expression.

“Is that for me, baby girl?” she asks, crouching down in front of Brooklyn, who squeals and hands her mama her second surprise. Quinn’s gaze flicks from the envelope to me and back again as she peels it open and pulls the papers out, gasping.

  “What?”

Holding my hand out, I wait until Brooklyn grabs it before lifting her into my arms. “If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right. Biologically, she may not be mine but in my heart, this little girl belongs to me. I love her almost as much as you do and I would be honored to adopt her as my own.”

“Lucas,” she gasps, crying as she covers her mouth with her hand. “Are you sure? You can’t take this back. This is forever.”

“Baby,” I breathe, shaking my head. “When are you ever gonna learn…”

She smiles and pulls me closer. “You never say things you don’t mean.”

“So believe me when I say that this is what I want. Forever. And on my death bed, when I look back at my life and all the memories and love the three of us will share, I’ll smile and tell anyone who’ll listen that I lived a damn good life.”

“Okay,” she muses, smiling at her daughter before her gaze flicks back to me. Heat dances in her eyes and my heart kicks in my chest. “Do you know what I’m going to say next, then?”

Grinning, I hook my arm around her waist and pull her into my body until my lips brush against hers. “Kiss you?”

“Get to it then, handsome. Now and for the rest of forever.”

“Shit. You don’t have to tell me twice, woman.” I seal my lips over hers and she melts into me as she grips the lapels on my jacket and moans.

  Fuck.

Yeah, if I get to spend the next seventy years doing this right here, I’ll have absolutely no regrets.

  Prologue

  Kady

  May 2011

“Kady, baby,” he whispers, his voice dripping over me like honey as I slowly fade into consciousness. A feeling of comfort washes over me as he drags his hand across my belly and pulls me closer. I let out a soft moan as he presses his lips to my naked shoulder. His warmth surrounds me and I snuggle into it, wondering how the hell I’m supposed to get up and go into work when I could just spend all day doing this. “Come on, darlin’. It’s time to get up.”

  “No.”

He laughs as he slips a hand between my thighs. “Do I need to make waking up more appealing for you?”

“Maybe,” I breathe, lifting my hips off the bed and he laughs again.

“Don’t go getting shy on me now, gorgeous.” His voice is husky as he drags his fingertips up the inside of my thigh and my muscles tighten, anticipating his touch but it never comes. Goose bumps race across my skin as he leans down, his lips brushing over the shell of my ear. “Use your words… or I could just spank your perfect ass until you’re so goddamn wet that there’s no question what you want.”

Heat floods my body and I bite back a smile as I remain silent, taunting him. The urge to peek up at his face is overpowering but I hold strong, waiting for him to figure it out. Finally, he scoffs and yanks his hand from between my legs. Before I can even object, he flips me onto my stomach and yanks the covers back. His hand lands on my ass with a smack and I suck in a breath as my belly does a little flip and my pussy clenches with need.

“Shit,” he whispers, gently rubbing his hand over the spot he just slapped. “You’ve always gotta challenge me, huh?”

Grinning, I open my eyes and glance over my shoulder, meeting his green gaze as I hold up my left hand. “You didn’t seem to mind when you asked me to marry you.”

“Yeah, you’re right,” he responds, his gaze flicking to the engagement ring he slipped on my finger just last week. Memories from the night he proposed pop into my mind and I bite back another smile. He surprised me with a new dress and took me out to this fancy restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge before taking me back to the place where it all started. Out in the grass in front of the middle school where we met, he dropped down on one knee and pulled out a diamond ring. With a smile, I glance down at the rock on my left hand and my heart flutters. “Still doesn’t mean that I’m letting you get away with shit.”

“Happy wife, happy life, baby. You should learn that now and you’ll be just fine.”

He smirks and flips me over before pulling my legs apart and settling between my thighs. “Sounds like some bullshit.”

“Oh, I see how it is,” I murmur, arching a brow as I reach for the ring. The happy expression on his face turns to anger in a minute and he catches my hand before I can even touch the ring.

“Don’t even joke about that. That ring is never coming off your finger, you hear me?”

I glare up at him. “Maybe I don’t want to be your wife if you don’t care if I’m happy.”

“Goddamn it, woman,” he growls, leaning down and gripping my face in his hand. “You’re my fucking world and you know it so knock it off.” He shakes his head. “Fucking difficult for no damn reason.”

“Haven’t you ever heard that all the good ones are difficult? If you want easy, go find a basic bitch,” I say, smirking up at him and he shakes his head.

“Woman, you are the only girl I’ve had eyes for since the moment I met you. I don’t want anyone else even if you are going to make me pull my fucking hair out.”

I shake my head to get him to release my face and when he does, I reach up and tussle his brown hair. It falls into his eyes and I laugh. “Speaking of which, you need a haircut.”

“I don’t know. You seemed to like pulling it when I was inside you last night.” His lips stretch into a salacious grin and my heart thumps a little harder. Oh, I know that look all too well. Cocking my head to the side, I study him.

  “Did you like it?”

“Maybe,” he answers, his grin growing wider. “Why don’t we try it again to make sure?”

“I’m going to be late for work.”

“No, you won’t,” he answers, his hand slipping back between my thighs as he lowers his head and kisses my neck. I lean my head back, letting out a sigh. He wastes no time this time around and presses his thumb against my clit before circling it in slow circles. My entire body sags into the bed as a low moan slips past my lips and my eyes close.

  “Oh. Just like that.”

“Don’t tell me what to do,” he growls in my ear and I shiver.

“Faster,” I urge, smiling at the thrill that rushes through me, zapping every nerve ending to life when he growls again. God, I don’t know why but something about getting him all fired up does crazy things for my libido and most of the time, I can’t help myself. Hell, just last night, I started shit with him over a hair dryer just to piss him off.

  Over a hair dryer…

  Who the hell does that?

But, goddamn, the way he threw me on the bed and worked me over until I was apologizing so loudly that my throat is a little sore this morning makes me want to do it again.

“I swear to God, I’m going to gag you.”

  I snort. “Just try.”

He pulls back and grabs my face again. My eyes snap open but before I can say anything, he sl
ams his lips to mine, shutting me up the way he does best. My heart hammers in my chest as I wrap my arms around his waist, open my legs wider, and pull him closer. Reaching between us, I wrap my fingers around his thick cock and give it a few tugs before he rips his lips from mine with a groan.

“Just remember, you asked for this,” he whispers, his eyes on fire as they lock with mine and he lines the head of his cock up at my entrance before surging forward. My eyes widen as he fills me and I gasp, my fingers digging into his back.

“Noah,” I moan, wrapping my legs around his waist.

“That’s right, baby doll,” he growls, gripping my hip in one hand as he develops a punishing rhythm. It’s fast and rough - just the way he knows I love it and I struggle to catch my breath through the barrage. “Don’t forget who owns you.”

I would object to his comment but one, it’s true. Ever since the day we met, Noah Thomas LeBlanc has owned me - mind, body, heart, and soul. And two, I can’t seem to form words right now with his cock driving into me repeatedly. Pressure builds in my belly and my heart thunders in my ears as I let out moan after moan, unable to quiet them with the onslaught of pleasure he’s inflicting on me.

  Damn, he’s good.

Hence, why I like pissing him off so damn much.

  Can you blame me though?

“Noah,” I cry since apparently that’s the only thing I can say right now and I swear, I can feel his chest swell with pride. Noah LeBlanc does a lot of things well but the one thing he takes the most pride in is loving me better than anyone else ever could - both emotionally and physically.

  “That feel good?”

“Yes,” I whisper as I drag my fingernails down his back. He groans, his lips finding mine again as his hand slips behind my head. I remember his comment about pulling his hair and I reach up, running my hand through the soft strands before I grip some of it and pull.

“Fuck!” he roars against my lips, his voice ragged as he presses his forehead to mine. He’s breathing heavily, on the verge of release, and I revel in it. Just like Noah does for me, no one can take care of my man like I can. “You ready to come for me, darlin’?”

I nod, my body tensing and my back arching off the bed, as I hover on the brink of release.

“Get to it, then,” he orders, pulling his hand from behind my head to reach down and slap the side of my ass. The sharp sting is exactly what I need and I topple over the edge as colors explode behind my eyes as I scream his name. He thrusts one more time before his cock jerks inside me and he lets out a groan that damn near rattles the walls.

“Shit,” he breathes, dropping his sweaty forehead to mine as we both drift down and, after a moment, he rolls to my side, pulling me back into his arms. I try to wiggle out of his hold and he grunts.

“Don’t get comfy. I still have to go to work.”

He shakes his head. “You can’t get up yet.”

  “Why?”

“Because,” he answers, pulling back to meet my gaze as he places a hand on my stomach. “It’ll help you get pregnant if you lie down for a few minutes.”

I grin, shaking my head as I relax back into the bed and stare up at the ceiling. We were engaged for all of twenty minutes when he brought up babies and we both didn’t want to wait. After growing up in foster care, I’ve been dreaming of having a family of my own since I was a little girl. Noah has always wanted a big family, too, and after his parents abandoned him, it became even more important. Some people are going to look down on us because we’re so young, I know that, but I don’t care. I have Noah and we’ll have our babies. What more could we possibly need?

  “How do you know that?”

  He shrugs. “Internet.”

“Man,” I say, turning to look at him with a grin. “If anyone could see you now… big, bad biker, looking up tips to help his fiancée get pregnant online.”

“Kady, I don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks. We both want this and we’re adults so fuck ‘em all.”

  “I love you.”

He grins. “I love you. Now, how long you gonna make me wait before you marry me?”

“I don’t know,” I answer, looking down at the ring on my hand. “Why don’t we talk about it tonight?”

  “Why not now?”

“Because,” I say, detangling myself from his arms and slipping out of the bed before he can stop me. A deep frown contorts his handsome face and I laugh. It’s adorable. “Right now, I have to get ready for work.”

  “Fine.”

I laugh again. “Don’t pout. It’s not a good look on you, baby.”

“Whatever,” he grumbles, rolling his eyes before flashing me the same cocky grin that I fell in love with when I was only eleven years old. “I always look good.”

“Yeah, all right, hot shot,” I call over my shoulder as I step into the bathroom to get in the shower.

“Is Hannah going to be there tonight?”

I step back into the bedroom and nod. “Yes, why?”

He shoots me an annoyed look as he sits up and leans back against the headboard. “You know why. What I do is dangerous, baby, and I need you to always have your guard up. I wouldn’t be able to stand it if something happened to you.”

“Okay,” I whisper, nodding. I turn back to the bathroom but stop and turn around before sighing. “Noah, do you ever think about stopping? I mean, now that we’re planning our future and a family?”

  “Yeah, I do.”

I take a step toward him. “So, you’re getting out? No more drugs? No more club?”

“Look, I’ve got a ton of money saved up and we just need a little bit more and we’ll be set for our future. I’ll stop then, okay?”

  “Noah…”

“I hear you, baby,” he growls. “I’m doing this for us, for you. I’m going to give you everything you’ve ever wanted but to do that, I need you to hang in there for a bit longer.”

  I sigh and nod. “Okay.”

“Hey, don’t forget that I’m picking you up after your shift tonight.”

“Yeah, yeah. Just don’t be late again this time.”

“I’ll do my best,” he replies with a grin and I roll my eyes, hiding my smile as I turn toward the bathroom to get ready for work. All of my life, all I wanted was a family and this is the first time that I feel like I have one. Yeah, it’s small with just Noah and I, but we’re working on that and I am so damn excited to see what the future has in store for us.

  Chapter One

  Noah

The cot beneath me creaks, echoing through the cell block as I roll to my back and sigh, my gaze falling onto the photo taped to the underside of the bed above me, the same place it’s been for the last seven years. Not that I need it. In my mind, I still see her as clearly as I do in the photo staring back at me now. Her long blonde hair blowing in the breeze as she laughs and her hazel eyes bright and full of life. That’s the image of her that I’ve clung to all this time, the one thing that’s gotten me through the hell that is being held in a cage like an animal. The fact that I’m so close to seeing her again makes every second that passes pure hell.

  Tick.

  Tick.

  Tick.

Closing my eyes, I picture her face on the last day I saw her, her smile bright and her eyes full of fire as she challenged me in the way that made me fall in love with her all those years ago.

  Tick.

  Tick.

  Tick.

  Damn it.

I wish it wasn’t getting so hard to remember what her voice sounds like.

  Tick.

  Tick.

  Tick.

“Time to go, LeBlanc,” Shep, one of the guards calls, stopping in front of my cell and my muscles relax as I slowly release my breath and my eyes snap open.

  Finally.

I stand up and survey the eight by ten room I’ve called home for the last six years before ripping the photo off the bed. There’s nothing else I want from my time here, nothing else that matters.

“Admit it, Shep,” I say, stepping up to the bars and slipping my hands through the gap. “You’re going to miss me.”

In my time here, I wouldn’t say that I’ve gotten close to anyone, especially any of the guards, because I knew my time here was short lived but Shep is different. He’s not like the other guards and I’m convinced talking to him is one of the only things that has kept me sane while I’ve been in here. He hooks the handcuffs around my wrists as he scoffs.

“Yeah, I’ve spent the last week agonizing over how I’m going to make it without you.”

  I grin. “I knew it.”

Grabbing the radio at his shoulder, he calls to the command room as he rolls his eyes and my cell door slides open. “Got any big plans for your first night out?”

“Naw, probably not. Sleep in a real bed, I guess.”

“What?” he asks as he grabs my elbow and begins leading me down the hallway. “You’re not a fan of the accommodations here? I’m offended, LeBlanc.”

“Maybe you should hire someone. Give this place a little Fun Shui.”

“Yeah, I’ll get right on that,” he says with a chuckle before looking down at the photo in my hands. “You got any news on her yet?”

Glancing down, I suck in a breath. “No.”

We stop in front of a metal door and Shep knocks on it twice before a buzzing sound fills the air. As he opens it, he slaps my shoulder.

“Good luck, man. I know how much you’ve missed her.”

“Yeah, well,” I force out before tucking the photo in my pocket and clearing my throat. “I’ll be seeing her soon enough.”

“You are one determined son of a bitch, I’ll give you that. Just don’t end up back in here for doing stupid shit to win her back.”

My shoulders tighten and I grit my teeth. “She didn’t leave me.”

“Whatever you say, man. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve heard of a chick bailing the second her man is locked up.”

  “Kady’s not like that.”

He nods in a half hearted agreement as we stop in an office near the front of the prison. A woman looks up from behind the desk and meets my eyes. She’s got this sexy librarian thing going on with her tweed pencil skirt and her brown hair pulled back into a tight bun. Most of the guys in here, hell just any guy in general, would probably lose their shit over her but not me. She doesn’t hold a candle to my Kady. Not even close.
