Starting a Ryot (The Hounds of Zeus MC Book 3) Page 30

by Faith Gibson

When Lucy wasn’t helping the family by using her computer skills, she was holed up with Lucius’s journals. She wouldn’t tell anyone whether or not she was able to come up with a way to prolong the human mates’ lives. She confided in Ryker she didn’t want to get their hopes up until she was one-hundred-percent sure it would work. Ryker already had his hopes up. He wanted as many years with his Angel as he could get.

Kerrigan, Lucy, and Natalia had taken Rhi and Mac out for a girls’ day of pampering. When Rhi returned home, she looked like a different woman. Her eyebrows had been shaped perfectly, and her long hair had been trimmed and highlights had been added. His mate was simply stunning. Rhi loved getting out of the house. Not to get away from Ryker, but as she explained it, she had been kept away from the real world for far too long, and she had so much to see. Elizabeth invited her back to visit, and Rhi took her up on her invitation. She got another mother’s doting, and she also got to spend time with Manny giving her driving lessons, and after, she and Lawrence spent time in the gardens. His Angel was adapting and growing, and it was beautiful. Another beautiful thing about her was the triple moon goddess she had inked on her arm in honor of her mother. Rhi kept Daisy close with the tattoo in honor of the woman who not only brought her into the world but also taught her some important life lessons that Rhi kept alive in her memory.

When the twins returned to the game room, both were bundled up, ready to ride. “Come on, Rhi Rhi!” Major yelled. When Rhi didn’t immediately move to follow, Ryker took a good look at his mate. She had been quiet the last few days, but he hadn’t thought anything about it. Now, though, he could tell something was on her mind.

  “What’s wrong, Angel?”

Rhi turned to Ryker with tears in her eyes, but her smile let him know they were happy tears. “I was going to wait to tell you, but we might need our own sidecar soon.”

“Why would we…? Rhi, are you…? Are we…?” Ryker couldn’t make the words come. His own eyes were wet as he lifted his beautiful pagan off her feet.

“Yes, we are,” she whispered against his mouth.

Ryker spun Rhi around and shouted, “We’re having a baby!”

Those in the family who weren’t outside getting ready to ride ran into the game room. Hugs and congratulations took a while, but eventually, Ryker was straddling his Harley with Rhi snug against his back. When everyone was ready, he called out, “Hounds, let’s ride.”

As he led the pack, Ryker couldn’t stop smiling. Rhi’s stomach would soon get round, and he couldn’t wait to feel his little one kicking his back as they rolled down the highway. Gryphon or pagan, Ryker didn’t care which the child turned out to be. He couldn’t wait to be part of their life together with their momma. Ryker thanked Zeus for putting Rhi in his path, and he thanked her goddess for the rainstorm that made him take the exit that led to finding her. It had been a long time coming – twenty years long – but Ryker Lazlo was no longer a lonely, bitter Hound.

  The End

  A Note from The Author

This was probably the hardest book for me to write since I started on my journey. Not because of the storyline, but because of all that is happening around the world. I poured a lot of my frustrations and empathy into this book, and I hope the love shined through. I’ve known from day one it would take a special kind of woman to pull Ryker from his mind, and Rhiannon was just the one to do it.

  About the Author

Multi-genre author Faith Gibson began writing in high school, and through the years, penned many stories and poems. As her dreams continued getting crazier than the one before, she decided to keep a dream journal. Many of these nighttime escapades have led to a line, a chapter, or even a complete story.

“Love is love, and there’s not enough love in the world.” This belief she holds strongly, and it's the prevailing theme in her works, all of which come with a happy ending.

Faith believes her purpose in life is to entertain the masses, even if it’s one person at a time. Living just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, with the love of her life and her pit bull pup, when she’s not hard at work writing her next adventure, she can often be found playing trivia while enjoying craft beer, listening to live music, or off on an adventure of her own.
