by Elle Rush

Between juggling extra hours at work and a never-ending Christmas to-do list, Eve LeBlanc doesn’t have time for a new man in her life. But ever since she picked Nick up on the side of the road, she’s been running into him everywhere.

His flirtations started innocently enough but when his grandmother invites “his girlfriend” to the family’s Christmas dinner, Nick realizes if he wants to stop pretending about Eve, he must come clean. Once Eve learns of his deception, he’ll need Santa’s help to turn their fake relationship into the real thing.

  Rudy & Kris (Book 4)

Baker Kris Singleton has her hands full caring for her convalescing aunt and running the Totally Iced bakery during the busiest time of the year. She has no time for a romance with a former beau who has decided it’s time to make up for a missed opportunity in their past.

Unfortunately, she can’t avoid him. They’re both volunteers on the local children’s Christmas party committee and the big date is quickly approaching.

Rudy Gillespie knows if he can get Kris fully involved in the community center with him, she’ll realize how good they are together. But as her work gets busier and his plans for the holiday event of the season fall apart, he needs her help for to save them all from utter disaster.

Can two mismatched elves and a mysterious man in red save Christmas?

  Only Santa knows.

BONUS RECIPE- No-Bake Coconut Christmas Trees

  ½ cup butter or margarine*

  2 cups icing (confectioner’s) sugar

  3 tbsp milk

3 cups shredded coconut (medium or long strand)

½ tsp vanilla or mint flavoring**

  Green food coloring* **

4 oz white chocolate for melting (chopped up baking squares or wafers) * **

Melt butter or margarine in a large saucepan or microwave. Remove from heat if using stovetop. Add icing sugar and milk.

Mix in coconut and flavoring. Add enough food colouring to tint mixture green.

Roll into 1” balls. Pinch tops to make into cones.

Place in refrigerator, uncovered, for at least 4 hours – preferably overnight – to dry and firm.

Melt chocolate in saucepan or microwave. Dip tops of “trees” to give make them “snow covered”.

  Makes 3 dozen treats.

  Elle’s Notes from experience

  * You can get fancy and make “white” trees, however the more yellow the butter or margarine, the less white your trees will be (I recommend a very pale butter if you want to try this.) They look great with brown chocolate topping (melted chocolate chips work fine.)

** If you want to go retro to the 80’s, you can make pink Christmas trees (remember those?) Tint the coconut mixture pink with red food coloring, add cherry flavoring instead of mint, and dip in white or brown chocolate.
