I knew how Emma felt for me, or at least what she told me she felt for me. She said I wasn’t like anyone else she had ever been with, but did she say that to all of her other girlfriends? Was she really in love with me, or was this all a ruse to keep me enchanted with her while she got what she wanted from me?
The terrible questions flowed through my brain like a spigot on full blast, no matter how hard I tried to suppress them.
Emma kept asking me if everything was okay all throughout dinner, and it only reminded me to plaster the fake smile back on my face and reply that everything was fine. I said I was just tired, and she seemed to buy it even though she asked a few more times before the meal was done.
As soon as the plates were cleared from dessert, I excused myself while everyone else planned to go in the hot tub before bed. We were going on an excursion to a waterfall on the island in the morning, so I said I wanted to rest as to not be tired for our hike tomorrow.
Emma followed me to our room, thankfully. I didn’t know how long I could wait to have this conversation with her.
When the door was closed behind us, I plopped onto the bed, and I couldn’t control myself any longer. I started bawling my eyes out.
“What the hell is going on with you, Mia Why are you crying? You were fine all day, and just before dinner, you got all weird. Was it something I did in the shower?” Emma asked, completely confused.
I wiped away my tears. “Why are you with me? I mean, why are you really with me? Honestly.”
“What? Where is this coming from, Mia?”
Her nonresponse ignited an anger in me I didn’t expect, and I yelled at her with fury in my voice, “Just answer the fucking question!”
Emma stared at me blankly for a few moments before answering. “I’m in love with you, Mia. That’s why I’m with you. You’re good for me, and I hope I can be good enough for you and Todd.”
“But me, Emma? Why Me? I’m not special. You’ve dated models and beautiful socialites. I’m just a single thirty-something mom with average looks at best,” I cried.
“Mia... you’re more than beautiful. You’re exquisitely intriguing and more captivating than you could ever understand. I never dated those women. I simply fucked them. I never cared about them. I never gave a shit about their hopes, dreams, or aspirations. I only wanted sex from them, and they only wanted that from me. I thought that was all I was capable of until I met you. Life like that with all of those women was easy and uncomplicated. I know we’ve been through some rough shit together, but you and Todd... what I have with you, makes everything worth it. You make me care. You make me give a shit about everything. I love you, Mia. Can’t you see that?”
I stood there in front of Emma in all of her extravagant, beautiful splendor, and I felt small. She told me how she felt, and that I was beautiful, but I didn’t feel that way. I never did.
“But why? Why do you think I’m beautiful? I mean look at me. I have a kangaroo pouch I can’t get rid of. I have stretch marks. I’m too short...”
“Mia, stop it.” Emma came close, grasping my hands in hers, putting her forehead to mine. “Those are the things about you that I love the most. Your pouch and your stretch marks are from you carrying your son. You gave life to another human being, and that kid is the best damn young man I have ever met. He would give a total stranger the shirt off his back if he could help them. You did that, you raised him to be respectful and kind. And you’re not short, you’re just shorter than me, but so are a lot of people. And it gives me better access to do this...” Emma reached up and grabbed my face in her hands. She pulled my chin up to meet her face, and she kissed me gently. Her soft lips touching mine sent shivers down my body.
With that one kiss, all of my insecurities seemed to melt away, and I crumpled into her embrace.
“This is a beautiful dress, Miss. Mia Blackburn, but it would look much more wonderful on the floor,” Emma said, casually flirting with me as I wiped my eyes.
“Look at me. I’m a mess, and you still want to play.”
“You need to be punished for cumming too quickly earlier, my pet.”
Emma’s hands landed on my shoulders, deftly dropping the spaghetti straps of my dress down my arms making me quiver with lust again. I had forgotten all of my previous anxieties, thanks to Emma and her compassionate touch.
We made direct eye contact as Emma pulled the remainder of my dress down, and then she took her own off. We stood in front of one another, completely bare and vulnerable. Emma said nothing but gave me her approval with her glistening gaze, and she ran her fingers down the center of my chest to my belly button.
“Enough playing nice. On the bed on all fours, my pet. Let me see that perfectly round ass I love so much in the air for me to punish,” Emma demanded.
I did as instructed and was rewarded for my obedience with kisses along my backside. Emma’s lips were soft like the petals of a flower gliding over my body, and I wanted more. I felt the lush touch of the comforter underneath me as Emma positioned herself beside my hips. She rubbed my thighs and my back, purposefully avoiding my center where I wanted to be touched the most before I felt the pleasant sting of her palm quickly across both cheeks just over my core.
“Did you like that, my pet?” Emma asked in a breathy luscious tone.
“Yes, ma’am,” I moaned as I squirmed in anticipation.
“Do you want another?”
“Yes,” I begged.
“Yes, what?” Emma teased.
“Yes, please.”
“That’s my girl,” Emma replied as she spanked me again and again.
I cried out in pleasure as she punished my backside just hard enough to make me want more, but not too hard to cause any actual pain. Emma always knew the perfect amount of pressure to enforce, providing me with the exact amount of endorphins to work me up into a lather.
“You are so wet for me, my pet. Are you ready for me to fill you up?”
“Oh, yes, please. I want you to fuck me,” I pleaded.
“Good. I brought your new favorite toy,” Emma said, smiling as she reached under her pillow producing the light pink double-headed dildo.
I smiled and sat up from my original position to sit with my legs wide open for Emma in the center of the bed.
She sucked one end of the toy into her mouth and gave me the other. I licked it as I batted my eyelashes at Emma as seductively as I could. Emma had a way of making me feel sexy the way no one else could. If I was doing this with anyone else, I’d feel so stupid sucking on the end of a latex toy. But Emma made me feel alive and like a sensual goddess.
Emma stuck her tongue inside of me and licked her way up before pressing the pink tip inside of me. She sat up, slowly pushing the toy further inside as she positioned herself in front of me. I grabbed the middle of the toy and rubbed it up and down over her clit. Emma reached up and grabbed one of my nipples between her fingertips, pinching gently while I slipped the head inside of her.
She pushed her hips forward as our legs locked, intertwining with each other, and our clits touched in the most exhilarating kiss. I ground my body into hers, and Emma did the same. With both of our pussies filled entirely to the limit with the toy, our clits rubbing against one another and our breasts pressing together, we kissed passionately as we made love to each other.
“I’m going to cum,” I blurted out.
“Yes, baby. Cum for me,” Emma replied into my lips.
Our fingers twisted in each other’s hair as we pulled together tighter. I felt my orgasm roll through my body like a storm battering the coast before the floodgates opened, and I released, tossing my head back and moaning.
Emma curled into my body, groaning into my neck, “Oh, fuck, yes!” as her own explosive release took hold of her.
The rush lasted longer than ever before and was of cataclysmic proportions. Everything about this encounter, the slight rocking of the boat, the fullness of the toy inside of us, the closeness of our bodies... it was concurrently
explosive and slow burning. In short, it was phenomenal.
Chapter 10
The next morning, we were up bright and early for our hike through the Philippine jungle to a majestic waterfall. Before we walked out the door, Emma stopped me and looked at me questioningly.
“Can I ask you something that’s been eating at me?”
“Sure, anything.”
“What happened before dinner last night that made you break down like that? One minute you were fine, and the next, you were all crazy with self-doubt like I’ve never seen you before.”
“Oh, that,” I replied sheepishly. “I meant to say something, but we kind of got busy with other things,” I smiled and tugged on Emma’s shorts.
“Don’t try to change the subject. What happened?”
“There’s a burner phone in the nightstand, and someone called it right as we were leaving for dinner last night.”
“What? Where is it? Let me see it,” Emma demanded, moving past me to rip open the drawers.
She pulled out the little black phone and opened it. She must have been looking at the pictures because her face became dark and angry. “Who called? Who was on the other end, Mia?”
“I don’t know. They had some kind of software masking their voice. It sounded like a computer.”
“What did they say?”
“They told me that you weren’t honest with me, that I wasn’t special, and that you’d leave me as soon as you were done with me because I was just another one of the bitches you fucked and dumped,” I replied flatly with no emotion.
“Oh God, and then they sent you these pictures?”
“Yep.”
“Mia, I can’t believe you didn’t say anything as soon as this happened. We’re not supposed to keep secrets from each other. You know better than this,” Emma chided me.
“I know, but whoever it was, did a great job fucking with my head. I didn’t want to believe them, but they played on every insecurity I’ve ever had about us, and I let it get the better of me. I’m not perfect, Emma. I’m sorry.” I dropped my head in shame for letting whoever was trying to break us up put any kind of wedge between the two of us. Even if it was only for a short period of time.
“You know I love you, Mia. There’s no one else. There will never be anyone else, and that’s it. You and Todd are my forever family. I love you guys, and I could never live without you.” Emma grabbed me in a tight embrace as she kissed my head.
“I know. I just... I lost it there for a bit.”
“Oh, sweetie. Let’s get this to Matt to see what he can get from it. Maybe he can find out who sent the pictures or where the call came from.”
Emma and I got the phone to Matt and told him the whole story. Matt went to work on the burner plugging in all sorts of computer devices. His room looked like a surveillance van by the time he was done setting up.
“You guys go on the hike. I’ll stay back and see what I can get out of the phone. I’ll call or text if I find anything.”
When we took the tender to the island, I noticed one of the stewardesses was missing. I asked the crew about her, and they said she wasn’t feeling well, so they sent her to the mainland to see a doctor early this morning.
I didn’t think much of it. Being on a ship of this size had to be stressful, and getting sick eventually was just par for the course, right?
The hike to the waterfall was strenuous but gorgeous. There was so much exotic plant and wildlife around us at all times it was like we were in a whole other world. Todd took pictures of absolutely everything. He was our official photographer, and Emma made sure he had the right gear for the job.
Before we left, she surprised him with a Sony A7R camera with all of the lenses and attachments that went with it. Todd had mentioned photography class was one of his favorites in school, and Emma took his love for it to a whole new level. She said she was nurturing his gifted photographic eye, but I knew she’d just found something else to spoil him with.
Henrietta and Dave were hitting it off nicely, and they went off together for some ‘alone time’ when we made it to the waterfall. I was happy for them. They made a cute couple. Emma, Todd, and I swam in the lake the waterfall fed into, and it was beautiful. The water was pristine, and there were colorful fish everywhere.
Todd said he was going off to take more pictures of the butterflies and birds. I told him to stay where I could see him, but he never listened. Emma scolded me for being a helicopter parent, making me laugh. I didn’t think she understood the true meaning of the phrase because I definitely did not fit that mold.
The crew told us it was time to pack up and head back so we could make it to the beach in time for lunch. We yelled for everyone, David and Henry came running, still putting their clothes back on. Emma made some funny, crude comment about it that I didn’t hear, but they all laughed. I was still looking for Todd.
“Todd, come on! We have to get back for lunch!” I yelled with my hands cupped around my mouth to amplify the sound.
There was no response, and the forest was silent.
I turned to Emma. “Where the hell is he? I told him to stay close.”
“He’s got to be around here somewhere. He’s probably chasing a bird or something to get a good picture and wandered too far away. Let’s spread out and yell for him,” Emma replied, not seeming worried in the least.
I, however, had a terrible feeling that something had happened to him.
We all called out to him for a while and still no response. I ventured out along the path we came in on and found his camera on the trail.
“Emma!” I screamed. “Something’s happened! Todd dropped his camera. He wouldn’t go anywhere without it.”
Emma came running over. She grabbed the camera from me and began flipping through the last few pictures he took. There was a colorful bird in the last one, but there was also a man in all black reaching out towards the camera at Todd.
“They took him,” Emma snarled.
“Who? Who took him?” I asked as tears filled my eyes, and my chest tightened.
“The Company. They have Todd, and they have a head start so they could be anywhere by now. We have to get back to the boat and tell Matt. We have to get Innocence Inc. involved right away. The more time they have, the further away The Company will get with him. I will not let them take our son,” Emma growled furiously through gritted teeth.
Chapter 11
We got back to the boat, and Emma notified the captain that we were cutting the trip short, but that we were waiting for instructions on where they needed to drop us off. I was a complete mess. I zoned out the entire trip back to the boat, but now that we were back, I just sat in Todd’s room and cried, hugging his dirty clothes to be close to him.
Matt and Emma worked together on what the next steps were to be in finding Todd, but I knew I would be of no use to them, so I just stayed out of the way.
Emma said Innocence Inc. was already on standby in the Philippines in case something happened with the raid tonight, and they needed to get us out of the country quickly. They assured us that they’d be able to find Todd and his captor quickly.
It wasn’t long before Emma rushed into Todd’s room, telling me that we were on our way to a port in a small town where Innocence Inc. thinks The Company would be shipping Todd out from. Without thinking, I ran past her and up to the Captain’s deck, demanding that he move the boat as fast as he possibly could. My fierce momma bear persona kicked in now that there was a possibility of getting my son back, and I wasn’t going to let anything get in my way.
There was no slip open that was big enough for the yacht, so we had to take the tender to the dock. Matt didn’t want me to go with him, but I didn’t give him a choice, and he wasn’t going to fight with me. He saw the destructive rage in my eyes and knew better.
The sun was just beginning to set as we pulled in, and Matt pointed out an empty boat slip. “That’s the space a shell company we know The Company uses reserved for tonight. They e
xpect a boat called The Emerald, to dock here in about an hour.”
“I’m not waiting an hour. That asshole has to be somewhere close with my son, and I’m going to find him right now,” I grumbled.
“Mia, wait,” Matt called out as I jumped the last few feet from our boat to the dock and ran for the entrance to the pier.
There was a dark boathouse at the corner that looked like an excellent place to start looking. It wasn’t very big, and it was a good vantage point to see the slip The Company had rented. I walked around the back entrance, and the door was locked, but the window was open. I looked around, and there was no one around. I pushed the window open all the way and climbed inside as quietly as possible.
It smelled rancid inside, like decomposing fish guts and rotting wood. I closed my eyes and listened hard for any noises, and I heard metal scraping sounds. I followed my ears to a door that was cracked open slightly. There was a low light on inside where Todd was tied to a chair and blindfolded with a gag in his mouth. The man dressed all in black was sitting in the corner with his back to me. It looked like he was peeling an apple and dropping the peel to the floor. I had to keep in mind that he at least had a knife with him.
I scanned the room I was in for anything I could use as a weapon and found a long broom handle looking thing that had a large hook on the end of it. I assumed it was for grabbing fish from the water and pulling them on a boat. It was going to have to serve my needs for now. I certainly wasn’t going to throw a net over this guy and hope he surrendered.
I grabbed my hook stick weapon and crept into the room silently. I raised the handle above my head, ready to bring it down on this guy’s skull when he cocked his head to the side and seeing my shadow on the floor, he crouched and rolled away. He quickly recovered, knife in hand ready to strike at me.
I jutted the stick out, hitting him in the gut, and it surprised him. He wasn’t expecting little old me to strike first. He groaned in pain but recovered quickly, fisting the end of the handle and pulling me towards him and his knife. I let go of my makeshift weapon throwing him off balance. I rushed for Todd in the middle of the room, pulling Todd and his chair to the floor in one swift motion. I grasped the blindfold and tore it away from his face. Todd’s eyes popped open wide, blinking away the dull light in the room, and the dark clothed man was on us in seconds.
