Revival: A Rockstar Romance (The Rock Legend Series Book 3) Page 22

by L. V. Lewis

“Okay,” Dylan and I both say, and the Dr. gives me the side-eye.

“When a woman answers for you in much the same way you would answer for yourself, you’ve got to put a ring on it.” He winks and leaves us on that note. Dr. Naples certainly has a quirky bedside manner, but I’ll be a fan as long as he keeps my man healthy.

“Thanks for not letting me shirk on coming here,” Dylan says. “I was afraid the NHL had come back and ignoring symptoms like that isn’t a good thing per Dr. Naples—and you, baby. Mostly you.” I am struck dumb by his words. Jacob was right. Dylan had been afraid. But now, we’re both so ecstatic that he’s okay, I’m not even happy I was right to guilt him into coming here. I love this man so fucking much, I would give him my healthy lymphatic system if I could.

Dylan and I meet in the middle of the room, our lips clashing in a celebratory kiss, and we don’t stop until the nurse comes back into the room and speaks.

“Um, Mr. Castle? Ms. Lawrence?” We open our eyes, but Dylan only releases my lips when he finishes that all-consuming kiss he is famous for. “I have that medical release you two need to sign.”

We part and happily sign the release. She gives Dylan some prescriptions and we’re off.

As we step out of the doctor’s office, we’re chatting ninety miles a minute about the close call and how happy we are that NHL isn’t stealing him away right now at the happiest time of our lives as a couple, right before The Savages’ Revival Tour concert debut. We hear several car doors opening, and familiar faces stepping out of said cars.

There’s Sky and Brody, getting out of their Maybach flanked by Malik and one of his security guys. Jacob is here stepping out of his Subaru. Finn and Dani step out of Finn’s Tesla, and George unfolds himself from his Porsche. The members of Sky’s and my first band are here as well, and they all congregate in the parking lot in front of Dr. Naples’ clinic, waiting with bated breath to find out if Dylan is still cancer free.

“What the fuck?” Dylan says, his inter-laced fingers going to his forehead.

“Our tribe is here,” I say simply.

He kisses me quickly on the lips, takes my hand. “Then, let’s go tell our tribe the good news,” Dylan says.

We walk toward our friends who couldn’t wait to hear if one of their own was okay. They had to see for themselves.

  AUTHOR BIO

Growing up, L.V. Lewis wanted to be an internationally known rock star, but she unfortunately lived in the wrong part of the country to pursue that career (and neither American Idol nor The Voice were available at that time) An early love for the written word gave her the “Plan B” she needed. Now, she pens romance novels that let her live vicariously through rock stars and other fascinating archetypes.
