It was now that reports began to trickle back to him about the many setbacks met by his invading forces, finally he heard about the destruction of the three clone ships and the damage to the Constellation. Mortise almost danced with joy, but instead he sat down and lamented the loss of his friend Doctor Baris, and all the other innocent lives lost in the incident. He pushed this aside and immediately ordered the starships in orbit around Uranus to head for the new planet, named by him Salvation. He informed them that although the new planet was 130 light years away from the planet Uranus, it was a sister planet to Magenta and that it was uninhabited, they would be met there by the three space Arks and an armada of freighters carrying everything a new colony world would need.
Many of the people aboard the starships in orbit around Uranus were happy about this, following the many setbacks in the war against Earth. It was also the day when two Magentan space cruisers arrived, one day after the space battle above the Moon had occurred. The Nebula and the newly launched Super Nova, for Admiral Tennant, at Mortise`s request, had already despatched them to replace the Constellation, as he had feared that the officers aboard it would soon fall under the spell of Consul Phairlis. Not wanting to risk the wrath of the president, or the captains of the two space cruisers, the waiting starships had begun the long journey back across the galaxy towards the planet Salvation. A freighter, carrying essential supplies, would meet them halfway.
Admiral Tennant now sent an order to the space cruiser Nebula, he told them to pick up all the clones in the Sol solar system, to collect the Magentans on Mars and the Moon, and take them to the new home world. The clones would receive newly Magentan cloned bodies, as soon as the necessary equipment and medical expertise could be assembled. He also ordered that all the captive humans were to be returned to Earth, unfortunately, of course, there were not any to be found. One minute later and they heard about the battle of the Moon, and everything changed.
Phairlis and council of the Chosen Ones had moved to the starship Future prior to the battle above the Moon, because it offered them more comfort than that found aboard the Constellation. After the battle of the Moon, and with the arrival of the president`s forces, Phairlis knew that this phase of the invasion was essentially over, he now put into operation plans that did not include the Magentan people.

It was only then that Madr heard what was happening; it was via his communications system on his stolen spacecraft, it had relayed it to his small personal computer. He had set this up before finally leaving Nellis with Will, unfortunately due to the virus that he had put into the Constellation`s computers, it was only now, with the arrival of the space cruiser Nebula, that he heard what was happening. However, now the Nebula had arrived Madr sent a message, via the Nebula`s communications system, to President Mortise, and he gave him a full update.
Mortise was not surprised by what he learned from Madr, and he ordered the space cruiser Nebula to provide him with a full list of any craft still under Phairlis command. The list was very short; it consisted of the cryo-storage starship the Future. He then instructed Admiral Tennant to order the space cruisers Nebula and the Super Nova to find and board the starship Future, and once secured they were to await further orders, however, the starship Future was not to be found.
The Nebula approached Earth, but only after Captain Revere called ahead and told of their peaceful intentions. The Nebula had collected all of the aliens based on the planet Mars and Revere told President Chambers that the planet could now been returned to the people of Earth. Revere now asked if he could travel down to Earth to talk peace. Chambers agreed to meet him at the White House, with him were representatives from China, Russia and Europe, as well as the secretary general of the United Nations.
Revere was told to land his spacecraft at Washington Dulles International airport; however, he parked his space cruiser in space and travelled to Earth in a small shuttlecraft. Revere was accompanied by two of his officers and they were met there by the American secretary of state, a helicopter transported the party to the White House Lawn.
Madr was not at the meeting; however, he was at the White House. Before the meeting began, he had warned his new friends that some of the clones might still be roaming about free on Earth, although their life expectancy would not be long due to the work carried out by Doctor Baris. However, a more important item on their agenda would be to find out the whereabouts of Phairlis and the council of the Chosen Ones. They were thought to have taken the cryo-storage starship Future and brought it down to Earth during the battle for the Moon. A search for them had so far found no sign of them.
As soon as the meeting began, Captain Revere requested that the alien clones captured in the raids, both on the Moon and on Earth, along with any Magentans, be released; they would be picked up and transported to their new home world by the starship Nebula. He regretted the loss of life of the humans, particularly Phairlis`s senseless murderous act against the ones who had been replaced by clones, for he had been under orders to keep them alive and transport them to Magenta, there to live out their lives.
In the interests of inter-galactic harmony, the leaders agreed to this request, although they demanded reparations to be paid to the families of those who had died. Captain Revere had no choice other to agree, and he thought it a cheap price to pay for inter-galactic harmony. And so the invasion of Earth was over, and the space industry on Earth took a great leap forward, for part of the price for peace was space technology.

Phairlis and some of his followers had indeed been forced to flee to Earth in the starship Future, even while the battle of the Moon was still happening, Phairlis could see that the cavemen had beaten him and there was no other option open to him. The spacecraft flew in over the South American Continent and found sanctuary beneath the large, and deep, Lake Titicaca in the Andes mountain range, here they planned their own future, living inside one of remaining empty clones that Phairlis had kept hidden aboard the starship Future; the clones were amongst the last created by Doctor Baris. They hid here safely concealed from both worlds, ready to re-appear when all was quiet, they planned to live a good life, for with their alien knowledge they would be able to prosper. They would be aided by the clones still hiding away on Earth, and who were already making their way to them, ones who preferred to stay on Earth rather than return to Magenta, where they would be born in new Magentan clones. Phairlis saw the cities and infrastructure on Earth as a better bet for a comfortable future, he planned to take over the government of one of the smaller countries and from there, build his new life. For the council of the Chosen Ones could not return home, Mortise would immediately have them arrested for their use of the virus against the Chinese people.

Petras Furling and his team asked to be allowed to live out their lives on Earth, for their reception back on Magenta, or even Sanctuary could be unpleasant, as many of their people would consider them traitors. President Chambers was very happy to agree to this, and decided that they should live in Texas. However, Redh Madr went home aboard the Nebula, for life, as a small grey alien on Earth did not appeal to him. Sally Jameson went back to work at NASA, where many new staff were taken on to replace those who had been murdered. The lives of all those touched by the invasion was changed forever, and Sally`s colleagues no longer thought of her as a little weird.
