“Then that’s all I can ask.” He leaned forward and kissed her on the mouth. He pulled back for a moment, a big smile on his face. “And in case you’re wondering, I love you too.”
She placed a hand on each of his cheeks and pulled him close again, pulled him into another kiss. It was a simple kiss, and yet it said so much more, so much that she’d needed to hear, to feel.
“Actually,” he pulled back, “I do have one more question to ask you.”
“Oh?”
“How do I get you out of that dress? I’ve been thinking about it all day and I still can’t figure it out. I don’t see a zipper anywhere. Did they sew you into it?”
He was definitely a man—her man. “It has a side zip, not something you see a lot of—and to tell you the truth, while I’ve painted a sexy image of you helping me out of it, there is nothing fun about the process. First I unzip it, and then I quiver and shake while I work it up over my hips and then up over my shoulders, praying that I don’t get stuck when it’s wrapped about my head.”
“I have to tell you, the images that puts in my mind are pretty hot. You naked with arms held tight, unable to move, mine to do what I want with. You did say you weren’t wearing panties?”
“Yup, no panties—and I know you don’t have anything on under your pants.”
“Guilty as charged.”
She stood. “I’m still not willing to put on a show for Mrs. Nelson, however.”
He rose beside her. “I don’t have a problem with that.”
She placed a hand on his chest. “I do have my own question for you, Mr. Walsh.”
“Yes?”
“I found it a terrific turn-on listening to you talk about the attention you could place on the puck, how you could turn off the whole world and focus on that one thing.”
“You did?”
“Yes, all I could imagine was what it would be like to have you spend that time on me, focus only on me. Do you think you could manage it?”
He glanced toward the stairs as if trying to gauge how quickly he could get her up them and into the bed. “I don’t know. I’ve spent my life trying to stop goals, but with you I think I just might score one.”
And the race for the bed was on.
