“I know, but the girl is still young and new to magic. She will be no match for you.”
She gritted her teeth. Her powers were great. The keeper of the Sun Crystal had been unable to stop her. To an ancient one like herself, the girl was nothing but a baby and untrained. She may be able to kill the keeper of the Heart, but that would be attention she wasn’t ready for. The world could not know her plan, not until she had all the pieces in place. The girl was meant to die while Kadon was still around, so her death could be blamed on him.
With a flick of her wrist, she produced a shadow ball. “Give me one good reason I shouldn’t kill you.”
He grovelled at her feet. “Please, My Queen. My family have been loyal servants for generations. I still have sway with the council and can feed you information on them.”
She snarled, throwing the shadow ball just past him. He threw himself backward, wrapping his arms around himself. Pathetic, but he may still prove useful. A small orange bird glided in through the window. She put her arm out for her to land on. “What news do you bring me, Little Bird?”
Little Bird lowered its head. “My Queen, I bring wonderful news. I have located the Land Stone.”
A wicked grin spread across her face. The Land Stone was the exact opposite of the Heart Crystal. The girl didn’t stand a chance against it, and added to her own power, she would be unstoppable.
