Meng Lei didn’t know how powerful the Dark Hell Continent was, either. Therefore, he was dead set on using his alternate incarnation to measure the extent of Dark Hell Continent’s strength.
An alternate incarnation was a price that he could afford to pay!
“This is really a beautiful existential plane!”
The more Meng Lei strolled about leisurely, the more he liked Dark Hell Continent. Rich magic elements, clear and distinct laws of nature, and wide and vast lands...
Meng Lei must admit that he had become tempted. He really wished he could seize Dark Hell Continent and make it his. It was just a shame that... All he could do at the moment was just think about it.
Ice Demon Prefecture moved at a slower speed than what Meng Lei had expected. Meng Lei waited for them for three consecutive days, but the Ice Demon Prefecture troops simply didn’t show up from start to finish. Instead, he surprisingly ended up looting quite a fair bit of riches.
It was only on the fourth day that people finally started to make their way to Pighead Ridge. There were a lot of them, and they numbered approximately over 100,000 people. They formed a big, dark mass that moved with fierce momentum, causing a great commotion.
“The Ice Demon Prefecture Guards!”
“It’s that bunch of detestable bloodsuckers!”
“The Ice Demon Prefecture Guards are here again!”
“That’s a lot of Ice Demon Prefecture Guards. What are they intending to do? Are there Demon Gods rebelling again?”
“Who knows?”
The Ice Demon Prefecture Guards charged over to the sky above Demon Pig Sinkhole in no time. A demonic aura that shot up to the skies spread into the surroundings and swept across all directions. Had those piglets from the Yale clan still been here, they would undoubtedly have mass-peed their pants in fear!
However, they had already left in advance, so all they left for the Ice Demon Prefecture Guards was just an empty den and sinkhole.
The Ice Demon Prefecture Guards also realized what had happened. Their leader was so furious that it couldn’t help but break into an angry rant. “Those damned Demon Pigs! They’ve actually fled! Damn it! Damn it all!”
“Relay my orders—report the situation here to the Prefecture Master at once, and request for permission for a prefecture-wide search! We must find the Demon Pigs!”
“Yes, Lord Great Demon God Grover!”
“I don’t believe that the Demon Pigs are so capable that they can just disappear into thin air, despite their numbers!”
“Lord Great Demon God Grover, what should we do now?”
“Capture them! Capture all the demons in Pighead Ridge. Make sure you interrogate and get the Demon Pigs’ exact whereabouts from them! If anyone dares to hide any information, you’re authorized to kill them!”
“Yes, Lord Great Demon God Grover!”
The 100,000 Ice Demon Prefecture Guards quickly spread into the surroundings and began to investigate the Demon Pigs’ whereabouts. Great Demon God Grover, the one leading the troops, became the only one left in the sky above the sinkhole.
“Bailey Yale! And that bastard that killed Isiah! You’d better not fall into my hands!”
Great Demon God Grover’s eyes gleamed coldly in the light as a sharp chill emanated from all over it.
Isiah, the Demon God that had been killed, was its child. On top of that, Isiah had even been its most outstanding child!
Yet someone had actually killed Isiah, its most outstanding child, seven days ago!
Great Demon God Grover swore to the heavens that it would be no demon if it didn’t take revenge!
“Are you here to look for me?”
A clear and pleasant-sounding voice suddenly rang out next to his ear at this point. A jolt went through Great Demon God Grover, and it hastily looked toward the source of the voice—a black-haired youth floating a short distance away.
“Who are you?” Great Demon God Grover asked coldly.
Meng Lei held his hands behind his back and replied, “Seven days ago, I wiped out a squadron of Ice Demon Prefecture Guards here.”
“You were the one that killed Isiah!”
Great Demon God Grover’s gleaming, furious eyes bore into Meng Lei. A surge of fierce killing intent spread from it and instantly crushed down upon Meng Lei.
“Well done! Well done, indeed!”
Great Demon God Grover gnashed its teeth in a fury, all the hatred in it erupting in this instant.
“Rest assured that I won’t kill you right away. I will erode away your demonic body bit by bit and roast your divine spirit in demonic fire for billions of years. I want you to repent for your sins in endless pain and torment!”
“Is that so? Come get me, then!” Meng Lei shook his head and let out a soft chuckle. “Show me what you’ve got!”
“Die!”
Great Demon God Grover instantly vanished from where it was. As a sharp and short whiz rang out, it charged right up to Meng Lei and raised its arm, instantly throwing out a punch that carried earth-shattering momentum.
“Nice one!”
Meng Lei licked his lips, raised his fist, and met Grover’s fist head-on without any hesitation.
Boom!
As though Mars crashing into Earth, their fists collided with each other. As an explosive crack erupted, the dimension around the duo broke inch by inch like broken glass. A gigantic black hole appeared around them in an instant.
They had broken a mid-end existential plane’s dimension!
Boom!
Meng Lei and Great Demon God Grover flew backward at the same time after the collision. Meng Lei took ten steps back while Great Demon God Grover retreated 100 meters.
The stronger between the two was determined with just one move—Meng Lei’s Abyss Skeletal Dragon alternate incarnation edged out the other party by a notch!
“It seems like you aren’t strong enough to kill me.”
Meng Lei smiled calmly and antagonized his opponent.
“Bastard!”
Grover clenched its fists, flames of fury bursting from its eyes. It swiftly calmed down, however. Meng Lei was stronger than it had expected.
“Since you can’t kill me, then I’ll kill you instead!”
Meng Lei burst into laughter and took the initiative to attack. He was stronger than the other party. Hence he had a very high chance of killing his opponent.
A Great Demon God should know a lot of information about Dark Hell Continent, right?
This information was exactly what Meng Lei eagerly wanted to know at the moment!
Boom, boom, boom!
A shocking clash took place. By virtue of his slightly higher strength, Meng Lei managed to suppress the other party. After all, Grover was indeed much more inferior to him.
“Die!”
Upon seeing that the situation was becoming increasingly perilous, Great Demon God Grover let out a roar and transformed into a gigantic, 5,000,000-feet-tall Ice Demon that looked as if its whole body was made out of ice.
“Again!”
Meng Lei also transformed into his true form.
Chapter 328: The Three Most Powerful Existences, A Master-less Existential Plane
Roar!
Roar!
One was a gigantic, 5,000,000-feet-tall Ice Demon formed fully from ice.
The other was a 6,000,000-feet-long Abyss Skeletal Dragon formed purely with bones.
The two massive monstrosities gave off an immense demonic aura. Two waves of demonic might shot high into the heavens and clashed violently against each other. As though a nuclear bomb had exploded, great impact waves erupted with a boom, implicating the whole area within 1,000,000 kilometers of where they were.
Dust swirled everywhere as trees and branches were broken.
Grass flew about as mountains and rocks shattered and broke.
“T-that’s...”
“It’s Great Demon God Grover!”
“Who’s that Abyss Skeletal Dragon?”
/> “That Abyss Skeletal Dragon is also a Great Demon God!”
“O Ice Demon Grandmaster...”
The demon tribes in Pighead Ridge, as well as the 100,000 Ice Demon Prefecture Guards that had just spread into the surroundings, all watched the two figures in the sky in fear and shock.
Fearsome demonic might weighed down upon their souls wantonly, filling them with fear and trepidation and making them shake like leaves. They couldn’t muster any battle spirit within them at all.
Roar!
As a couple of fearsome, earth-shattering roars rang out, the two massive monsters clashed against each other with a thunderous boom. The dimension around them instantly splintered and broke upon the explosion, forming a terrifying black hole straight away.
The gigantic Ice Demon and the Abyss Skeletal Dragon stayed within the black hole. The fearsome space-time fluxes and dimensional gales blew wantonly at them, yet they were indifferent to it and continued to clash against each other instead.
Boom, boom, boom!
Crack, crack, crack!
Their clashes went from the south to the north, and they battled fiercely with each other from the east to the west.
The dimension around them turned into black holes everywhere they passed through. Impact waves and rushing waves of energy ran rampant, causing a great many unlucky demons to become collateral damage.
They were either smashed into minced meat by the impact waves, jabbed into swiss cheese by the rushing energy waves, or smashed dead by huge rocks thrown into the air by the wind.
Unlucky to the extreme, they died in all sorts of different ways.
“Run! Hurry and run!”
The creatures on the continent scurried about in fear as they fled, wishing they had been born with an extra pair of legs. Little did they know that the seemingly intense battle was already nearing a conclusion.
Boom!
The gigantic Ice Demon was already riddled with wounds all over, and there were innumerable ice holes on its body. Its aura had also become several times weaker than what it had initially been.
The Abyss Skeletal Dragon, on the other hand, was as unscathed as ever. It had a strong momentum going on and was actually becoming more and more valiant as the battle progressed. Its battle spirit had become several times stronger than what it had been in the beginning.
“Die!”
Meng Lei roared, smashing his huge claw down and going straight for the Ice Demon’s head.
“Damn!”
The Ice Demon’s expression changed dramatically, and it hastily raised its right arm in defense.
Crack!
The skeletal claw and ice arm collided against each other. Amidst a great collision so loud that it could deafen spectators, the Ice Demon’s ice arm broke apart with a boom, causing ice chips to spray about.
“Again!”
Meng Lei was unforgiving upon gaining momentum, and he started a new round of bombardment on the Ice Demon. He had higher speed and more violent strength than the Ice Demon, and his attacks rained down endlessly like a fierce, turbulent storm.
Boom, boom, boom!
At last, the huge Ice Demon couldn’t withstand the consecutive series of blows anymore, and it broke apart into pieces with a blast.
The Ice Demon had lost!
Whoosh!
A white crystal shot out of the broken ice chips, instantly hurtling into the distance—it was Great Demon God Grover’s demonic core!
“Fleeing? I was already on guard against that a long time ago!”
Meng Lei let out a derisive scoff and smacked his skeletal claw downward in mid-air. As though he were swatting a mosquito dead, his claw completely covered the white demonic core...
Smack!
The blow dazed and dizzied Great Demon God Grover and Meng Lei easily caught the demonic core with a casual grab. The sound of Grover’s mad and furious bellows could be heard coming from it.
“You damned bastard! How dare you destroy my demonic body! I’ll fight you to the death! The enmity between us knows no bounds! I, Grover, swear I’ll be no demon if I don’t kill you—”
Meng Lei couldn’t help but laugh. He couldn’t be bothered to pay any more heed to the fellow. Instead, he turned to Dodola and asked, “Dodola, do you have any way of reading this guy’s memories?”
Dodola shook its head and answered, “I’m just a divinity projection right now, so my divine spirit is extremely weak at the moment and unable to read its memories. Your alternate incarnation can’t do it either, right?”
Meng Lei nodded lightly. Then, he said, “In that case, we can only return to Light Continent for the time being.”
“Let’s go then!”
Meng Lei and Dodola returned to Light Continent, upon which he then passed the demonic core to his true body. What happened next was obvious—breaking through the divine spirit’s defenses and reading its memories.
A long while later, he was finally done with reading its memories.
“How is it?” asked a concerned Dodola.
Ol’ Amos and Amolin also turned to Meng Lei. As for the rest of the Kroc Holy Sect’s higher management officers, Ol’ Amos had already sent them all away to continue spreading his faith.
As for Bailey Yale, the Ancient Demon Pig, he was already on his way to Gods-Demons Continent with his wives and children.
Although the place was a great distance away, there was no other place more suitable for them as a habitat besides Gods-Demons Continent.
In other words, Meng Lei, Dodola, Ol’ Amos, and Amolin were the only ones left in the sky above the Demon Ravine at the moment.
“Dark Hell Continent is far stronger and far more dangerous than what we had imagined, Dodola.”
Meng Lei said with a sigh, “According to Grover’s memories, the Ice Demon Prefecture alone already houses more than ten Great Demon Gods, among which the strongest—the Ice Demon Prefecture Master—is even a mid-level Great Demon God.”
“A mid-level Great Demon God!”
Dodola gasped. It knew the significance behind a mid-level Great Demon God. Great Demon Gods were also grouped into four classes in accordance to how strong they were—ordinary Great Demon Gods, mid-level Great Demon Gods, high-level Great Demon Gods, and Great Perfection-level Great Demon Gods.
They corresponded respectively to elementary-level, mid-level, high-level, and Great Perfection-level higher deities.
A mid-level Great Demon God = A mid-level higher deity!
Ordinary Great Demon Gods and mid-level Great Demon Gods might seem as though they were only a grade apart, but in truth, one was as lofty as the heavens while the other was as lowly as the earth. There was no comparability between the two at all.
One mustn’t be fooled by how Meng Lei’s Abyss Skeletal Dragon alternate incarnation had killed Grover, an ordinary Great Demon God. Had he been up against a mid-level Great Demon God instead, he... would undoubtedly have suffered complete defeat!
Dodola was aware that Meng Lei’s Abyss Skeletal Dragon alternate incarnation’s standard was, at best, only in between an ordinary Great Demon God and a mid-level Great Demon God and was neither higher nor lower than that.
“How many prefectures are there in total in the Dark Hell Demonic Kingdom?”
Dodola popped the most crucial question.
“108,” replied Meng Lei.
Dodola gasped. “In other words, there are at least another 107 mid-level Great Demon Gods like the Ice Demon Prefecture Master in the Dark Hell Demonic Kingdom?”
“Yes, that’s right!”
Meng Lei nodded lightly. He said, “There’s a certain tradition in the Dark Hell Demonic Kingdom—the strongest person usually undertakes the position of Prefecture Master in the prefecture. Additionally, they must also be prepared for challengers for the position at all times. If a challenger succeeds in beating them, they’ll be able to replace them and become the new Prefecture Master.”
This information didn’t come as a surprise to Dodola
at all. It said, “Competition among demons is usually as simple and direct as that. The weak are eliminated, and the strong are revered.”
Meng Lei nodded and added, “Because of the stiff competition, those who are capable of becoming the Dark Hell Demonic Kingdom’s 108 prefectures’ masters are all extremely powerful people.”
Dodola asked, “Any news about the master of the existential plane?”
“Probably not.”
Meng Lei shook his head and said, “According to Grover’s memories, there are three most powerful Great Demon Gods in Dark Hell Continent. They are the kings of the Dark Hell Demonic Kingdom, the Fallen Kingdom, and the Three-Headed Hell Kingdom. All three of them are high-level Great Demon Gods, and none of them can do anything about the other two.”
Dodola’s eyes lit up slightly, and it asked, “In that case, there isn’t any especially strong and peerless Great Demon God that’s powerful enough to overwhelm the whole existential plane?”
Meng Lei shook his head again and replied, “There’s no one like that in Grover’s memories.”
“That’s wonderful news!”
Dodola snickered and added, “Or at least, it shows that there’s a certain chance that Dark Hell Continent doesn’t have a master!”
“Really?” Meng Lei frowned and asked, “What if Dark Hell Continent actually has a master, but they are just indifferent to fame and fortune, and thus, their name and existence are unknown to the public?”
“The possibility exists, but it’s not very likely.”
A smiling Dodola explained, “You must understand that mid-end existential planes’ masters, regardless of which, are all peerless overlord-like existences. It’s typically impossible for any of them to be nameless existences. They don’t call them ‘Chief Gods of Existential Planes’ for nothing! Besides, it isn’t that easy to become a master of mid-end existential planes.”
Dodola went on. “Mid-end existential planes are more vast in territory, and their Power of Existential Plane contains even stronger force than that of low-end ones. It’s also harder for one to refine the Heart of The Existential Plane, and the process typically requires a long time to complete.
“However, we have three peerless powerhouses that each impose a restraining effect on and interfere with one another on Dark Hell Continent. Therefore, the likelihood of them refining the Heart of The Existential Plane is really not high.”
