There was no way she’d been released. Just yesterday she’d had a cardiac MRI, and no changes were noted in her condition. Nothing was better, but nothing was worse. Sage pulled herself into a tight little ball and buried her face against her knees. She released a wail that sounded foreign but vibrated deep within her soul.
