The Rise and Fall of the Barnes Brothers Box Set 1 Page 12

by Nikki Brown

“Oh you think you smart, huh?” Roger rushed me and I had never seen him like this before. He was usually easy going but something in his eyes was different. “Ya nigga ain’t here to save yo’ ass, now is he?” He gritted in my ear. I tried to push him off but he had my wrist really tight, and like a bitch his nails were piercing my skin.

“Muthafucka you better get the fuck off her.” Zemia yelled and ran over to jump on his back. He knocked her off with one hand and I hauled back and slapped the shit out of him. He grabbed my arms so hard it felt like he could break something at any moment. I noticed a car riding by very slowly, I was hoping that it was the Uber or someone that could help but before I could cry he spoke again.

“Just so you know, be happy as long as you can because if I can’t have you no one will.” He whispered in my ear and pressed his lips against mine really hard and then slammed me against the car and walked in the restaurant like he didn’t just assault me. I could have called the police but I had something better for his ass. I was gone let my nigga know, let’s see what happens when he comes in front of Kayson Barnes.

I helped Zemia up off the ground, because she was having a lot of trouble getting up. I didn’t realize that we had gotten that drunk. Lesson learned. Right as we were getting ourselves together the Uber pulled up and I had him take me to the trap where I knew they were, that was the only time that Kayson didn’t answer the phone for me.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Kayson

We had gotten a call that some shit had went down at the trap and Denari was of course nowhere to be found. I was pissed beyond measures. The whole time that we were running the fucking trap together it had never gotten robbed, but as soon as his little bitch ass take over shit go fucking haywire. I had yet to call Uncle Ray because I wanted to check shit out on my own.

“What the fuck happened?” I barked looking around the house at his workers. No one said anything so I pulled out my pistol from my waist band. “Aight cool, I’ll start shooting a muthafucka every time I gotta repeat myself, until either I find out what the fuck I wanna know or all y’all muthafuckas dead. Your choice.”

Denari’s friend Jizzy spoke up. “We were in here chilling and counting up and niggas just busted through with gats telling us to give up everything.” He shrugged his shoulders like that shit didn’t matter to him and that shit pissed me off.

“And what the fuck did you do?” Jaako interjected it. His ass was so mad that he had turned red as a muthafucka. I wanted to laugh at his ass but now wasn’t the fucking time.

“They came in here with guns and shit,” he smacked his lips. “They could have killed us.” He yelled like we were supposed to understand where he was coming from.

“Then muthafucka you should’ve taken that chance.” Jaako said pulling out his damn gun so fucking fast and shooting Jizzy right between the eyes. Everybody fucking jumped including myself because Jaako was usually the calm one. It was me and Omari that was trigger happy.

“Damn nigga a little fucking warning next time.” Omari complained because he was standing in the area that the blood spattered. “I just bought this fucking shirt nigga.”

“Well buy a fucking nother one.” Jaako barked. I didn’t know what the fuck was wrong with him, but his hostile ass had been on one the last few weeks. I needed to talk to him about that shit.

“Where the fuck is Denari.” I asked the three remaining dudes that were sitting there scared out of their minds but no one said anything. Jaako chambered another bullet and they all tried to tell us where he was at the same time. “Man, shut the fuck up.” I told them then pointed at the one sitting next to Jizzy slumped body. “You, where the fuck that nigga at?”

“He said he had some shit to do that he would be back tomorrow.”

Suddenly, we heard whimpering coming from the kitchen. “Who the fuck in here?” I yelled heading to the kitchen. There sat three half naked bitches. “You gotta be shitting me. Get the fuck in the living room,” I ordered the bitches. I swear the one girl looked vaguely familiar to me. I wanted to ask her who the fuck she was but I wasn’t in the mood to worry about it. When I got back in the living room they all looked like they had been busted. “Y’all some half assed dealers.” I shook my head.

“What the fuck we gonna do with them?” Omari asked.

“Let me get everybody’s fucking ID and if you don’t have a fucking ID then yo’ ass gone be slumped just like this muthafucka.” They all pulled out identification and took a picture of every last one of them and then emailed them to my uncle so we would have them if any one of them tried to run their fucking mouths. “If I hear about what happened today from anybody, I’m coming to look for you. Don’t think if you move it will make it hard to find you either, all I need is a fucking name and picture and I got both.” I threw the ID’s back on the table. “Y’all get the fuck out of here.”

They all got their shit and ran out. “Oh, and don’t come back either.” Jaako added. “Your services are no longer needed.”

“Man, come on, please this is how I feed my family.” One guy begged.

“That’s on you my nigga, we can’t afford fuck ups like this.” Omari shrugged and went to the back of the house to lock up. We were gonna have to shut this house down asap.

The guy looked at us begging for another chance, I wanted to feel sorry for the little nigga but O was right we couldn’t afford fuck ups like that. We had just lost out on a quarter mil, in cash and drugs. Shit wasn’t right, why now? I needed to holla at Unc so I could fill him in and see what we needed to do about Denari. He was starting to get in the way of the business. Brother or not, his ass just wasn’t built for this.

“We gotta tell Unc.” Omari said out of the blue.

“I was just thinking that.” I said.

“Denari fucking up big time.” Jaako said shocking the shit out of me, he’s the one that likes to baby that nigga.

  “Y’all don’t start this shit.”

“O, do you not see this shit? This is his fucking fault now we all gotta take the shit for it. I’m tired of his shit man.” I yelled.

  “I know but—”

“No fucking buts” Jaako said before I could. “He bringing us down O. His reckless bullshit is gone land us in jail or dead.”

What he said made Omari think about shit. He knew he was telling the truth. Denari’s ass needed a wake up call. He didn’t take shit serious. I was over him and apparently Jaako was too. I already know when Unc get a hold of this information it’s a wrap for him.

“We need to talk to him first.” Omari said.

“That nigga ain’t gonna listen.” I shook my head.

I sighed deeply and then leaned up against the wall. Unc had a cleanup crew but as soon as we called them we knew for a fact that Unc would be calling soon after. Jaako looked at me and I looked at him and nodded my head for him to make the call. I sat there and looked at my phone and waited of Unc to ring in and like clockwork, there he was.

  “Clean up at the Ford?”

“Nigga’s threw a party and shit got fucked up.”

  “Anything taken?”

  “Everything of value.”

“Got damn it.” He yelled. “I’ll see y’all in about three hours at the house. I got some shit to handle right now.”

“We one short.” I threw out there.

“Good.” He said and then hung up the phone.

“Three hours at Unc’s house.” I told the other two.

“I just got a text that cleanup was outside.”

We walked outside to let them muthafuckas do their thing. The block was hot and the fact that there were gun shots was normal. It didn’t even phase the neighbors. I walked out and hopped in my truck I was gonna call Jenacia back because I see that she called me.

“Aye did sis call you?” Omari asked with a mug on his face.

Before I could answer my phone alerted me that I had a text message. I saw that it was Brayla texting and that it was a picture. My
curiosity got the best of me and I opened it up. When I saw the picture my blood boiled, my breathing picked up and chest tightened. All I saw was red, there was the woman that I had changed for kissing all up on her ex-boyfriend. At that moment, I wanted to kill the both of them.

“Bruh the fuck wrong with you? You over there swelling up like the hulk or some shit.” Omari looked concerned. “Z called me but she ain’t answering her phone now, I ain’t feeling that shit.” He said looking down at his phone. “Oh shit, there they go right there.”

I jumped out of the truck and rushed over to that car so fast. Jenacia was crying and making her way to me so fast and I didn’t know why. I guess she didn’t know about her little rendezvous with that bitch ass nigga that was cheating on her dumb ass.

  “Oh my God bae he—”

I jacked her little ass up and brought her to my eye level. I had never put my hands on a woman but I swear seeing that shit had my heart in a thousand pieces, I could barely breathe. I couldn’t even look her in the eye thinking of her betrayal.

“So you think you gonna make a fucking fool out of me Jenacia? Huh bitch? All the shit I’ve done for you, I let you live in my fucking house, do whatever you needed me to do and you still fucking with the nigga that had babies on you. You think that shit cool bitch.” I threw her down and she hit the ground hard, landing on her wrist and she cried out and grabbed it.

“You muthafucka.” Zemia swung her pocketbook at me and I went toward her and Omari stepped in.

“I don’t know what the fuck yo’ problem is, but you bugging bruh. You need to fucking chill.” He pointed at me and I wanted to punch his ass in the fucking face.

“Bitch you go get yo’ shit and get it the fuck out of my house. I thought yo’ hoe ass was different.” I barked and Jenacia just sat there on the ground with tears flowing down her beautiful face.

She never said a word. I looked at her wrist that she was holding and it was bruised, I all of a sudden felt bad as hell. Then I looked at the other one and it was bruised as well, I traced her body with my eyes looking for more visible marks and saw an ugly bruise peeking out from under her shirt and I knew for a fact that I didn’t do that.

“He attacked her you fucking dumb ass. Look at her fucking arms do you think she was with his ass willingly.” Zemia yelled. “He walked up on us at the restaurant when she called yo’ dumb ass for a fucking ride because we were drunk and—”

“Stop Zemia.” Jen cried, I reached out for her and she slapped my hand away. I knew right then I had fucked up, but seeing that shit hurt me to my core. I guess that’s how she felt all those years ago, when I did it to her. “O can you take me to get my things please?” she sniffled.

“Yeah sis come on,” Omari said and I mugged the hell out of him and he mugged me even harder, I knew I was wrong but shit what was I supposed to do?

“Jenacia listen, I’m sorry somebody sent me a picture and I just lost it baby I’m sorry.” I walked up on her and she cocked back and punched the shit out of me. I was a big nigga but I must admit that shit hurt. I had to grab my jaw.

“So, I guess the bitch was telling me the truth when she was feeding me all that bullshit.” She laughed through her tears. “Something has got to be going on if you will take what she says and run with it, without even asking me.” She finally looked into my eyes and the hurt I saw was enough to make me tear up a second. “And all that shit you did for me, I’ll be sure to pay you back although I never asked for any of it.” She started to walk off and then turned around. “You don’t have to worry about me anymore, I never thought you were that man.”

She jumped in my brother’s back seat and him and Zemia got in the front. If looks could kill I swear Mama would be burying my black ass right now because the look Zemia was giving me was a killer. I watched as they zoomed off.

“What the fuck was that about?” Jaako asked walking over, he was still in the house so I guess he only caught the end.

“I just fucked up with Jenacia and I don’t know if I will be able to fix it.” I said walking to my truck.

  “Where the fuck you going?”

“I gotta go pay somebody a visit.” Was all I said before I jumped in and sped off.

I pulled in the drive way and parked right behind his black Impala. I jumped out leaving my car running, I knocked on the door and he swung it open immediately, so soon as I seen his face I hit him with a three piece that laid his ass out. I didn’t even give him a chance to fight back and just fucked his ass up.

“ I hear you like to beat women huh?”

“Fuck you.” He got out between me punching his ass in the mouth. “It’s a storm coming muthafucka and you Barnes bitches are in the center of it.” He laughed and that pissed me off.

“Bring that shit on muthafucka they call me the fucking Rain man bitch.” I cocked back and punched him in the mouth so hard that his teeth went flying across the room. I kicked and stomped that muthafucka until he passed the fuck out. “Y’all must not know who the fuck we are, talking about a fucking storm. Let’s go then bitch.” I said out loud.

I got in my truck and headed to the house to try and stop Jenacia from leaving.

  Chapter Twenty

  Omari

“I can’t believe he did this to me.” I could hear Jenacia crying from the backseat.

“I’m sorry sis I don’t know what my brother on, but he loves you and he was just acting out of jealousy.” I tried to reason.

“That don’t give him the right to put his hands on her.” Zemia yelled at me. I had to bite my lip because I wanted to cuss her ass out for talking to me like that but I knew they were both running off emotions.

“I didn’t say that, I was just saying that I had never seen him act like that over anybody. That nigga loves Jen with all his heart and to think of her—”

“What, doing the same shit that he’s done to me? What, making a fool of his ass?” Jenacia got out through sniffles. “I would never do anything to hurt Kayson, I love him more than anybody. I would do anything for him and he knows it. So why come at me like that, why not just ask?”

“How the fuck did he know anyway?” Zemia asked and I shrugged my shoulders.

“It had to be that Brayla bitch because he said that he had a picture and when Roger was attacking me I saw a car slow down but I didn’t think anything of it I thought it was the Uber driver.”

“I’m beating that bitch’s ass.” Zemia yelled.

“Nah y’all chill, Kayson gone handle that.” I told them both and they smacked their lips.

“I no longer trust your brother to protect me.” Jenacia said before she broke down again.

really needed to have a conversation with my brother. He can’t be out here wilding like that because some bitch told him something. He knows better than that and he better believe I’m snitching like a muthafucka too. I can’t wait to tell Ann Barnes that he put his hands on a female and one that she genuinely likes too.

I got to Kayson and Jenacia’s crib, her and Zemia jumped out and went into the house to get her things. I stayed out because I was sure that Kayson was on his way very soon. I needed to talk to him before he did anything else to make this situation worse. My phone rang and it was Jaako.

“Bruh.” He yelled through the phone.

“Man, what the fuck is wrong with your fucking brothers today?”

“Nigga don’t put them on me. I have no idea but they both fucking bugging.” He said. “Where the fuck you at?”

“At Kayson crib, Jenacia wanted me to bring her to get her shit.”

  “I’m around the corner.”

“Good ‘cause you know this nigga is on theway, I’m surprised his ass ain’t here yet.”

“Nah he said he had to go handle some shit.” Jaako said nonchalantly.

“Ah fuck nigga you didn’t follow his ass?”

“Fuck no he was on that bullshit and you know how he get and I ain’t trying to beat his ass today so I let his ass go, shit.”

I hung up on him. Them niggas was scared of Kayson’s big ass but I wasn’t. We would go at it and I didn’t give a fuck if he whooped my ass or not. I’ll pick up something and knock the hell out of him. I hated when Kayson did that Hulk shit, get all puffed up and start doing dumb shit. His ass better be calm when he gets here. I reached in my car and grabbed a blunt that I was smoking on earlier from the ash tray, I lit that shit and prepared myself for the fucking storm to come.

Zemia walked out of the house carrying some bags, I popped the trunk to let her put them in. Once she had the bags down I went to grab her and she snatched away. I grabbed her again and this time turned her near me.

“This ain’t our fight.” I told her and she looked away from me. “What the hell Z?”

“Are you like that too? Huh? You hit on women? Tell me now ‘cause I ain’t built for it. I’ll stab you in yo’ sleep and live happily ever after.”

I was taken aback by her bluntness and for some reason I believed every word she said and to be honest that shit turned me on to the max. I loved a woman that could take up for herself.

“Look shawty, none of us hit women. In all honesty that was the first time I have ever seen Kayson act like that at all. He was hurt, I know that don’t make it right but that nigga heart broke in two when he saw whatever picture he received. I could see that shit in his eyes. Kayson been through some shit too, again I know that ain’t an excuse but it’s gotta mean something, right?”

Zemia looked deep in my eyes and her expression softened a little, her feisty ass was still mad but she kinda understood and that’s all I asked of her. Next thing we heard were tires screeching and we saw Kayson’s truck whip in followed by Jaako’s Escalade. Kayson hopped out of the car on a mission. I noticed the blood on his shirt and I ran up to stop him. I jumped in front of him and he pushed me hard as hell. I almost lost my footing but I regained my composure and pushed his big ass back.
