Irish Billionaire's Lost Daughter Page 10

“Hello sweetie, oh your look lovely. “Granny even got your hair done the same way Mommy has it!”

  “You look so pretty, Mommy.”

During the last six months, Zoe had stared speaking clearly.

She was almost three years old now. But Calum liked to believe it was him that had taught Zoe to finally speak. I let him have that.

I chuckled to myself. “I can’t wait to see your daddy.”

  “He’s wearing a tux.”

  “Ooh. Does he look handsome?”

  “Very handsome.”

I gave one last approving look to my reflection. The smooth silk wrapped in angled folds across my full breasts, leaving my shoulders bare. The dress was nipped at the waist and fell in angled waves to my side and back. I had skipped on wearing a veil. Simply because I didn’t want to hide from Calum anymore. I wanted to be there, right before his eyes. We’d been through so much already. I wanted to become his. All of me. No veils.

Minutes later, I walked down the aisle, toward the love of my life. Even from several feet away, I could see the glint in his gorgeous green eyes, his warm smile.

When he took my hand, his fingers wrapped tight around mine. He uttered one worth under his breath. “Finally!”

I took him as my husband, till death did us part.

An hour later, I had removed the wedding dress and put on a gold and white evening gown. It was snug around my waist, snugger than it had been at my last fitting a week ago.

I was brimming with unabashed excitement as I took Calum’s hand. He led me to the middle the dance floor. It was a fun, bustling party. Everyone was dancing to hip tunes.

Calum, with his open beaming smile, calmed all the fears I’d lived with for years.

Zoe ran over and Calum didn’t miss a beat. Still holding me by his side, he lifted Zoe up. She kissed his cheek and lay her head on his shoulder. Tears burned my eyes when Calum seemed to melt in gratitude.

  It was time.

“I have to tell you something, Calum.”

  “What?”

Tears burned my eyes. I couldn’t have picked a better moment to tell him. He was holding Zoe securely, her small arms wrapped tight around her dads’ neck.

“You’re going to become a dad again.”

The smile on his handsome face momentarily faltered. I didn’t miss the imperceptible tightening of his jaw. His arm tightened around my shoulders, and he pulled me into his chest, squeezing me into him. His lips brushed a fierce kiss on my earlobe, dragging along my hair line and pressing tenderly to my eyelid.

“Oh god, I love you. God, I love you like mad, Nina.”

I fought back tears and clung to him. My arms wrapped around my family: Zoe and Calum.

“I’ve always loved you, Calum. Always.”
