CHAPTER 14

  THE GANG OF FIVE

The “gang of five” is secretly meeting with Cardinal Rossini. Cardinal Doyen asked the group. “How can we continue with the plans? There is security everywhere and we’re bound to be discovered.” Cardinal Rossini expresses, ‘Yes it is very dangerous, but I am certain that it can be done. We have to have the Pope travel out of the city under some pretext so that he will be in a more vulnerable environment to an attack. I’ll personally take it upon myself, to escort him on his trip.’ “But will you not also be in danger?” ‘There is some risk, Cardinal Lyon, but I’ll take extra precautions. Quickly you must all return to your own suites from different directions in order to maintain our secrecy.’

Cardinal Rossini calls to the Papal apartment. “Your Holiness, it is such a beautiful day, why don’t we take a ride into the countryside to get some fresh air. The heat here in Rome is somewhat oppressive.” ‘Well that sounds like a good plan, however give me about an hour to clear my itinerary and I’ll be ready to join you Cardinal Rossini. I’ll get my chauffer to prepare the car for us.’

Cardinal Rossini enters his suite to prepare for his trip and puts on a bulletproof vest. This is great; it will give me time to call Giovanni regarding my plans. “Giovanni this is Cardinal Rossini, I’ve made plans for the Pope and me to take a drive to the country in order to give your men the opportunity to do as you plan. But remember to tell your men, I’ll also be in the car, and not to shoot at me.” ‘I hear you, Cardinal; I’ll let them know.’

“Ah it is very refreshing to be out in the countryside, Cardinal Rossini, thank you for suggesting it. My schedule has been so busy; I have not had the time for a break.”

Suddenly a black vehicle approaches the Pope’s vehicle from behind after having pushed the Papal Swiss Guard security vehicle off the road, and nudges quickly alongside, then cuts in front as they come to a screeching halt. Two men rush out of the vehicle and approach the Pope, knocking on the vehicle doors with their automatic weapons, telling the Pope to get out. The Pope in the back seat looks out the window with amazement. “But I’m sorry, my security people tell me never to get out unless they are the ones to open the door.” The assailants keep knocking and then suddenly open fire on the vehicle.

“Oh look at this Cardinal Rossini, isn’t this fascinating! I have just received this new armored vehicle from the US Government, and they tell me that this is as secure as the President of the USA own’ vehicle. It is made to withstand any type of weapon or surface to air missiles. I didn’t believe that I would need such a vehicle, but the President himself called and asked that I accept it.” The gunmen after ten minutes of firing on the vehicle go and get a “surface to air missile”. After firing the missile to no avail, they finally hunch their shoulders and decide to leave. “Oh my, Cardinal Rossini, hasn’t this been an adventure like those special effects movies.” ‘“Yes, yes, but I’m perspiring and sweating so that I’m all wet and need to go to the bathroom right away.” “Oh, by all means Cardinal Rossini.” ‘Percy, please drive us back quickly!’ “This has been the most excitement I’ve had in quite some time, Cardinal.” “Oh, Cardinal, it is odorous in here! Please, OOOopen the windows!!!”

No sooner had the Pope’s vehicle turned back for the Vatican, another menacing looking military type vehicle approaches and starts bumping the Pope’s car. Cardinal Rossini starts yelling to the driver to drive faster. They are now both speeding faster and faster and weaving back and forth between other vehicles. Cars are being forced off the road into ditches and into other parked cars. As the vehicles now head into a straight stretch of road, the military van speeds up next to the Pope’s vehicle. The van’s side door opens with a volley of automatic gunfire hitting the Pope’s car and ricocheting in all directions. But none of the bullets are piercing through the armor. Next the terrorist attacks the Pope’s vehicle by extending a metal pole out with a bomb with a magnet that attaches itself to the Pope’s car. The terrorists suddenly veer off and quickly break to allow distance between both vehicles. The Illuminati member in the military van then presses a trigger to explode the bomb. There’s a huge explosion but the Pope’s car keeps on going with no penetration into the vehicle. The Pope calls out to Cardinal Rossini, “Are you OK Cardinal?” The Cardinal starts to look and feels his arms and legs, not believing what just happened. ‘Yes, yes I am ok, but a bit shook up. This can’t be happening. How are we still alive?’ Suddenly, a military helicopter appears in front of the Pope’s car and launches a missile at the military van and blows it up. The helicopter pilot then comes over the Pope’s radio speaker system, advising the Pope that the threat has been eliminated and they will escort him back to the Vatican.

The Pope then quietly prays a prayer of thanksgiving, and exclaims to Cardinal Rossini that this is probably enough of a venture for one day.
