“Wait…you love me?” Marissa hadn’t expected to ever hear those words from Aaron. He just didn’t seem like the type to say them.
Aaron nodded. “I do love you. I’ve loved you from the first weekend we were married. I think when you started liking the Oregon Trail, I knew I was lost. So many girls were trying to get my attention by pretending an interest, but you were already married to me. I knew it wasn’t pretense from you.”
“It never was pretense. Oh, Aaron, I love you too! I’ve loved you from the beginning, even when I thought you were a dopey absent-minded professor who only cared about the past.” She threw herself at him, almost knocking him off the couch.
He grinned, wrapping his arms around her. “So, I’m married, in love, and having a baby. Who would have thought this is where I would end up six months ago? You make me very happy, Marissa. Everything about you is absolutely perfect to me.”
“So, you don’t think I need to go back to school to better myself?”
He shook his head. “Not at all. You’re perfect just the way you are.”
Epilogue
Marissa couldn’t stop smiling as they got out of the Uber that took them from the airport to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. A bellhop was right there to take their things, and she walked into the main lobby, smiling at the person who said, “Welcome Home.”
“I need to check in,” Marissa said, and she was guided to the right line, where she stood for just a minute. She knew exactly what they would do while they were there down to the last meal. Though she was no longer planning other people’s Disney Vacations, she was definitely going to keep planning theirs.
After checking in, they walked two buildings over to their room, a one bedroom with kitchen and two baths. She showed Aaron all the features of their room while they waited for their luggage which arrived promptly.
“Are you tired?” Marissa asked. “We have dinner reservations in Disney Springs in two hours, but we could nap before if you wanted.”
He nodded. “Flights exhaust me.”
“Then we’ll sleep for an hour, and then catch a boat to Disney Springs.”
“A boat?” he asked. He’d assumed they’d take buses everywhere.
She nodded. “Yes, there’s a boat between our resort and Disney Springs. We’ll take buses to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, but on some nights, I have us taking the Monorail to dinner. You’ll find there’s a good variety of ways to get around. We’re doing Epcot tomorrow, and I can’t wait to introduce you to Food and Wine. I just know you’re going to love Disney almost as much as I do.” She hadn’t yet mentioned the Minnie Van, but she’d make sure they took it. It would make her so happy.
He shrugged. “It doesn’t matter if I love it or not. We’ll come back every year.”
She frowned. “Why do you say that?”
“Because it’s worth it to come here just to see you get as excited as you are right now. Your smile…well, it could light up the whole of Disney World, and I think we should come again and again.”
“Oh, good, because if we have a girl, we’re doing the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.”
“The what?” Aaron wasn’t even sure what that tongue twister was all about.
“You’ll see.”
