“I will tell you after I walk you to your door,” he said to her.

Floating on air from the previous two kisses, she wanted the next one. To her surprise, it was nothing like the last two. This one was nothing more than a brief pressing together of their lips, then a kiss on her cheek, but he used his body to seal to deal. He was ready for her.

Roger was as hard as a Chinese arithmetic taught in Korean as he pressed his desire against her thigh. His hands were hot as fingers indented the skin on her back pulling her body in to feel him. His blue eyes searched her face for the answer as Shanice’s shaking hands reached for her door handle, fumbling with the keys to get the door opened.

“I never do this Roger,” she said to him cracking open the door. “Before I let you inside my home, what is in the backpack?”

Man unzipped the bag to show her the contents. It held a toothbrush, a pair of underpants, and two pairs of socks. “I was a boy scout. My mother always insisted that I never leave the house without backup. Over the years, it has stuck with me,” he said with a lopsided grin.

“I am nuts for doing this...I never do this...I am not sure why I am doing this,” she said as she unlocked the door.

“If it is any consolation to you, I never do this either. EVER,” he told her truthfully as he stepped inside the dark two-bedroom apartment. “All I know Shanice is that I want you so bad that I can’t keep a straight train of thought in my head. We do this as consenting adults with no regrets in the morning, okay?”

“If you say so,” she said to him. Her hands were still unsteady as well as her legs. “I am kind of regretting this already.”

“Say the word and I will leave. I will have no hard feelings,” he said to her.

She stepped closer to him and touched the excitement in his pants. In her hands, it felt like she’d found a bag full of money. Strong fingers closed over the prize as she squeezed it, stroked, and imagined the feel of him on top of her, inside of her, bringing her pleasure.

“It feels pretty hard to me,” she said aloud. Where did that come from?

His embraced was strong as he held her body close. The kiss that followed erased her common sense, doubts, and any other rational judgments she had about her own safety. All she knew was that she wanted him worse than a junkie needed a fix. A straight shot or Roger, directly into the veins is what she wanted.

“Don’t worry. I am going to make sure that each time you think about this night, you’ll smile,” he promised her. “I know I will.”

  Chapter 6- Oh My Damn!

Smiling wasn’t the only thing she was doing. Saying that man was good was an understatement of seismic proportions. He made love to her like a convict fresh out of the pen. The man was forceful, demanding, and relentless. In the end, he was so tender that she cried all over him like an escaped nun from a convent sent to do work in the village but ended up in bed with the village elder’s teenage son. Shanice liked him even more after three rounds of the best sex she’d ever had in her entire life.

“You are good,” she moaned after he managed to kiss, undress her and himself without disconnecting their mouths.

He’d also succeeded in getting her hot, ready and on the bed without saying a single word to her. The weight of his body covered her as she heard the tear of the wrapper, his mouth still working small miracles, sending her mind into overdrive. Disconnecting their mouths for a moment, he looked down at her body in the soft light of bedside lamp, “Beautiful. You are simply beautiful.”

“I was thinking...” she said to him.

“Stop it. Stop thinking. I just want you to feel. Feel me. Enjoy us. Connect with me. Use your body to talk to me, tell me that I am pleasing you,” he pleaded. His ardent kisses pulled at her pent up sexual frustrations and clouded her judgment.

“Roger, it’s been a while for me. I am concerned...” she started to say.

“I will take care of you. I will take great care with you. My body will react and respond to you. We can go as slow as you need or as fast as you want. Command me,” he whispered huskily. His fingers played with her girly parts as if they were the guests in his piano concerto.

I am going to embarrass myself. I am going to embarrass myself. The moment he gets inside of me...I’m so close already. I am going to embarrass myself.

His eyes peered deep into hers as he moved, positioned himself, and eased his way into her between the slick folds. The thickness of him stretched her and filled her with pain, pleasure, and the sheer joy of a man being inside of her after so long. Shanice moved rapidly trying to hold off, but the delightfulness of the feel of his hardness lodged inside of her made her moan like a five-dollar whore. She came hard like one too.

Her legs wrapped around his back as her body convulsed against him, yet he didn’t scold her like she was a child for ruining the moment. Instead, he pumped hard, right along with her, and continued to move inside of her until he was harder than the first time. His calloused hands rubbed against her thigh as his mouth found hers. Man growled into her mouth, panting hard as he let go while moaning loudly in the satisfaction of a new-found freedom.

“Shanice, you feel so good I am ready again,” he whispered into her ear then commenced round two and pounded into her like she owed him a debt.

Twenty minutes later, limp, sweat soaked, and exhausted, Man extricated himself to go to the bathroom. She listened as he relieved himself before he washed his hands and returned to join her again on the bed. Warm, rough fingertips rubbed her backside as he slid under the sheet next to her.

“I got at least two more in me if you are game,” he told her with a hoarse voice.

  “Seriously. You have more?”

“If you are tired, I understand,” he told her, snuggling up next to her, inhaling the scent from their passionate encounter. It didn’t feel like a mistake, but he also had a job to do. A job he’d temporarily pretended didn’t exist. He knew she’d done the same allowing him into her home. He asked, “Should I leave?”

“No. If you have more, I want it. I want everything you’ve got to give me,” she told him, turning to face him in the bed. Cool fingertips ran down his cheek. The soft light from the lamp casting a slight shadow, but she could see his eyes. “You make me feel things...I never do this...but you...I can’t get enough.”

“Same here,” he said into the side of her neck as she felt the turgid flesh pressing into her belly. Long, powerful arms reached for the night stand to grab the second packet. The sound of the package tearing excited her all over again as he pushed her face down onto the bed, taking her from behind. His long stroke game was on point as she cried out twice, gripping the sheets, and he pounded into her over and over again until she came so hard, she soaked the bed and him as well.

Their last time together that evening, he took it slow as if he were savoring the moments with her and etching them into his memory. His hands roamed her body as if his fingertips were remembering every inch of her flesh. His tongue tasted each part of her before he finally released her one last time from the sweet torture.

“Shanice, may I stay and spend the rest of the night in your arms?” He asked in a soft voice. If she said no, Man would be deeply hurt. He needed this night not just to be with her but for his own sanity. Shanice made him feel sane.

It was the post coital fugue that generated the answer. “You can spend the rest of your life in my arms if you want Roger,” she answered back, snuggling up to him. Her face nestled into his neck as her fingers toyed with the dense hairs on his chest.

The answer she gave was also the answer which may have saved her life.

Man rolled over, his bladder screaming for release, but he was trapped by Shanice, whose legs were intertwined with his. The real Roger’s phone buzzed announcing that a message had arrived. He gently pushed her legs away to stand slowly, grimacing at the onset of the built up lactic acid in his muscles. The lit phone was the only source of light in the darkened bedroom. He swiped the phone from the night stand
, took it to the bathroom with him as he read the message from Janie. She wanted to know how the date went.

He almost responded with a winky face, instead, again, he told the truth. “Terribly sick. Didn’t make it. I will make it up to her.”

Relieving himself, he washed his hands to hear his beeper vibrate in his pants which lay upon the floor in the living room. He knew the sound. He also knew it was corporate checking to see if the job was done.

The apartment was barely big enough for him to change his mind inside the tiny space. He was amazed it actually had two bedrooms. Just as he went to check the second room, the beeper buzzed again. This meant the client was anxious.

  But why?

He wasn’t anxious at all, well not for that anyway. Getting back to that bed for one more round before he had to leave and to figure his way out of this mess was more pressing. There were only three condoms in the back pack. He’d used all three. Yet, he had to have her one last time. In his mind, he thought of Rosie, the African American Bond Girl from Live and Let Die. The irony of the situation brought a sardonic smile to his face.

He loved that movie. Rosie asked one of the greatest questions in cinematic history in his opinion. She wanted to know if James Bond was still going to kill her after they had made love. Bond, in his sarcastic manner, assured her that it would have been a waste to kill her before they made love.

  Shanice was his Rosie.

After the woman had trusted and given herself so freely to him, killing her wasn’t going to be easy. Stupid walked up and slapped him in the head, because the idea which came next was so preposterous that it actually bordered on senseless. He wanted her for more than just one night.

  She knew he was dangerous.

In her heart, she probably knew he wasn’t Roger, but those were moot points. She invited me to stay in her arms for the rest of my life. That is what was so stupid to him. He actually craved that. The man could see himself coming home from a tough day at work of killing someone to have her tuna surprise for dinner with a green salad picked from the garden in his back yard. A vision of her with a swollen belly that housed their son hit him like a karate kick to the chest.

  What are you doing?

  What are you doing?

  What are you doing?

He asked himself the question three times as he made his way back to the bed. Shanice’s nude form bordered on perfection as he clicked on the lamp. The light was required for his next question. She needed to be fully awake to answer him. The man needed her to be lucid.

“Baby,” he whispered, touching her cheek. He slid in the bed beside her. His need jutted upwards, ready for her. “Shanice, sweetheart, wake up?”

“Whaaaaa? What time is it?” She asked, rubbing her eyes.

“It is a little before six,” he told her. His lips touching her face making contact with her jaw line. “I am awake and need to get going, but I can’t seem to make myself leave you. Every time I close my eyes, I can still feel you around me and it is driving me insane. May I ask a very personal question?”

Shanice blinked several times trying to get her bearings. She was sore. Her right butt cheek hurt, and her toes were cramped. “Yes, what do you want to know?”

  He sighed deeply.

  He didn’t date.

He didn’t know how to ask these things.

“I used the last of my...hhmm, supply. Are you on anything?” He asked her biting his bottom lip.

“On what? Like Oxy? Xanax?” She said squinting trying to understand his question.

He laughed. For the third time in less than 24 hours, he laughed. That was a record for him in a ten-year period.

“No Baby, are you on like a contraceptive?” He asked, dipping his fingers low, touching her, sparking her fire again.

“I don’t date Roger. I have not been with a man in five years. I told you, I don’t do this,” she told him, her eyes searched his face.

His head lowered as he watched his finger go in and out of the sweetest spot he’d ever had the pleasure to visit. Either way, he was going to be held accountable for his actions. If he moved forward with his stupid idea or if he made a move toward the second dumb ass idea that was poking her in the belly. Regardless of the choice he made next, he knew his life was going to change. A man couldn’t spend the night with a woman like her and not be impacted.

“I am impacted,” he said aloud.

“How? We went four rounds last night. You have a backup in your balls still?” She asked with her eyes wide.

Man threw his head back, nearly falling off the bed in laughter. “No. You have impacted me. The way you respond when I touch you, your body commands me, our movements together, Shanice, are poetic. I am not talking about sex. There is something pulling me to you and ...ah fuck it,” he exclaimed.

The only thing he knew was that he was going to make love to her again, and he did. Just that quick, they were in sync. He took her so thoroughly and completely, that afterwards he found himself purring from the sheer satisfaction of their simultaneous release. “Shanice,” he called her name as he held her close, her head rested on his chest as they basked in the afterglow of their love making. “I could stay in your arms for the rest of my life.”

“I will try to keep them opened for you,” she told him as she drifted back to sleep.

Damn the consequences. He would work it all out in the next 24 hours, and they would have to go from there. He just needed a couple of hours to figure some things out. He had to get out of her bed first.

If he stayed another hour, he was going to become the father of her children. At the rate he was going, there would at least be a set of twins. Or triplets. Maybe quintuplets. Laugher touched him again as he quickly showered then got dressed. He needed to get the real Roger’s car back, his ID’s, keys, and phone. After all, the man bought them dinner, a great bottle of wine, and loaned him his car.

Another stupid thought crossed his mind, and he almost giggled.

He kicked himself sixteen ways to Sunday as he kissed her goodbye. A powerful force stronger than curiosity pushed him to peer in the second bedroom before he left the apartment. The man froze in the doorway.

  She has a child.

No one told me she had a child!

  This changed everything.

“Oh my damn,” he said as he let himself out of the front door.

Chapter 7- Oh what a beautiful morning

It was well after noon when Shanice finally roused herself from the bed. Sticky, smelling of sex, and sore as hell, she was for the first time, for many years, happy. Happy hadn’t visited her in a long time. On the night stand, her cause of the happiness left a note.

I will be in touch soon.

“I bet you will be after what you did to me,” she said with a smile. Hell, she didn’t take it too easy on him either. Even if the man decided it was only going to be for one night, she’d gotten enough loving to tide her over for a while.

“That shit was so good!” She gushed all the way into the bathroom humming Oh What a Beautiful Morning.

She showered, looked for something which resembled coffee, and got dressed. Shanice refused to even acknowledge the risky act she took part in this morning before he left, but she would head over to the drug store and get a morning after pill. If he gave her anything else other than a potential child, she would have to deal with the consequences of being horny as hell.

“Well, let’s just hope the man I saw deeper inside of those intense eyes last night is a good guy,” she said aloud as she went looking for her keys. “Oh crap, my car!”

Wait. My car keys are missing.

  “What in the hell?”

A knock sounded at the door making her jump like a cat walking next to a cucumber. She tip-toed to the window to peer out looking to see if Mr. Happiness Maker had come back for another round. Her car was in the driveway, and a man in a blue auto repair suit stood at the door.

“I have your car ready Ms. Olleh,” the man said.
r />   She opened the door, scared that the cost of the repairs would mean she and Rocky had to go without meat for a couple of months. They had done it before, and she could do it again.

“Good morning,” the gentleman said. “We repaired the brake line in your car. You musta hit something for it to rip like that. Just be careful over debris in the street and stuff. We took care of the distributor cap, gave it a tune up, and changed the oil. You have to get better at maintenance ma’am. That oil was blacker than sin.”

“Okay. What do I owe you?” She asked him, taking her car keys.

“Roger Flynn took care of everything for you. He wanted to make sure it worked properly before you went to pick up your kid,” he told her. “Have a great day.”

Shanice gripped the key so tightly in her hand that it indented her skin. She purposely didn’t mention Rocky last night. How? Duh. The bedroom. She looked about the apartment then into her kitchen. The top of her fridge held containers of kid friendly cereal. Her pantry had juice boxes and presorted snacks as well as her fridge holding containers of precut fruits, so Rocky could help himself to perfectly portioned snack.

“He fixed my car,” she mumbled, still shocked by his unsolicited generosity.

Holy crap, he fixed my car.

Man stood inside of Roger’s house looking at the sleeping science professor. The real Roger would have one hell of a headache when he woke up and would have several charges on his credit card. One was for the great dinner. The second would be for the repairs to Shanice’s car.

“You missed out on a very good thing last night my friend. So good in fact, you are going to really hate yourself,” he said with a grin.

He sat his keys on the night stand where he’d found them but held onto the cell phone for a few minutes. Man’s text sent last night to Janie would appear to the sleeping dude on the bed that he’d sent the message before he passed out.

The great thing about the phone was that it held no passcode to use it. Carelessness on Roger’s part. A potential help mate on Man’s. He used the phone to call corporate. Beauty answered quickly.
