Man Find (Bergen Brothers Book 3) Page 27

by Krista Sandor

Another woman clad in ski gear walked into the room.

“Hi, I’m Joyce. I’m one of the labor and delivery nurses.”

Elle turned to her husband. “Jasper, you’ve got the entire labor and delivery team here at Bergen Mountain?”

Jas shrugged. “Just everyone that’s not on call at the hospital in Denver.”

“It’s been amazing!” the nurse said, donning gloves. “It’s like the whole department’s gotten a ski getaway the last three weekends.”

“You’ve been doing this for three weeks?” Elle growled between pants.

Jasper paled. “Well, four. A month ago, I invited the neonatologist association to have their annual conference here at Bergen Mountain free of charge.”

“Am I really going to have these babies in a closet,” Elle asked between contractions.

“Kind of like a pioneer woman,” Jasper offered.

The women stared at his brother.

Jasper blushed. “I’m just going to stop talking.”

The doctor patted Elle’s knee. “Elle, you’ve powered through this pregnancy, and we know the babies are both head down. You’re an excellent candidate for a vaginal delivery.”

“In a closet?” she bit out.

The doctor looked under Elle’s robe. “It looks like it. Don’t worry. We’ve got an ambulance on the way, but these babies are coming now.”

Cam stepped back and watched as Cadence took Elle’s hand, and the miracle of life unfolded before his eyes. Had someone told him a year ago that he’d be a father, married to Mountain Daisy, and participating in the birth of his brother’s children, he would have thought they were nuts. But as he looked at his wife, holding the first twin wrapped in a Bergen Resort towel, he knew he was right where he needed to be—a Bergen brother, building the company his parents had devoted their lives to and building a life with the woman he couldn’t live without.

Lila and Hannah, named after Elle’s mother and their mother, came into the world in a walk-in closet ten thousand feet above sea level.

A baby in her arms, Cadence glanced up and smiled, and he saw a life filled with love and more Bergen babies to come.

“Aren’t they beautiful?” Harriet said with tears in her eyes.

He wrapped his arm around his grandmother as Bodhi and his grandfather joined them, and they gazed at the babies.

Cam squeezed Bodhi’s shoulder then smiled at Jasper. His oldest brother glanced at him, tears streaming down his cheeks as he held his daughter in his arms.

“What do you think, Gram?” Cam began, surrounded by all the people he loved. “Do you think this world is ready for the next generation of Bergens?”

“Oh, darling, all I can say is, watch out. Here they come.”

Reader reviews are a vital part of ensuring the success of a book. If you enjoyed spending time with the Bergen Brothers, I would be very grateful if you would post a review on Goodreads, Amazon, Apple Books, Google Play, Barnes & Noble, or BookBub. There’s a bunch! Take your pick!

I read every review and also respond personally when readers reach out. If you have a moment, email me with your thoughts at [email protected].

Your kind words make my day and help others find and fall in love with the Bergen Brothers Series.

  Acknowledgments

I’m never sad when I write the last book in a series. In my Langley Park Series and the Bergen Brothers Series, I’ve loved having the opportunity to bring the character together and send them all off on their happily ever afters. And, if you’ve read all my books, you may have caught some Langley Park/Bergen Brothers crossover moments. If you really paid attention, you’ll see two characters in Man Find who may just pop up again.

That’s the great thing about romance…it never stops.

I have many people to thank. Let’s start with this beautiful cover. Juliana Cabrera crafted a perfect Cam. She’s done all the Bergen covers and knocked each one out of the park.

I’m grateful to Tera, Kendra, and Shayne. These eagle-eyed mavens are the superstars of editing. I love you guys to pieces! Thank you for your edits and thoughtful suggestions. A very special thank you to Marla for pulling the manuscript together with her meticulous attention to detail. And thank you to Courtney for beta reading all my Bergen books—and always keeping me supplied with inspirational photos.

And to my author tribe. I don’t know where I’d be without authors Michelle Dare, S.E. Rose, Ashley Hastings, Lynne Leslie, and Emma Renshaw. These are the writers I turn to when I need a second opinion or a pep talk or just a good laugh. Honestly, I could list a hundred more friends in the romance author, reviewer, and blogger communities. So many talented women—and men (yep, they’re there) who band together and support each other.

I hold you all in my heart.

This acknowledgments page would not be complete without thanking my husband, David.

I moved to Denver in my early twenties. I was single and pretty sure, after only a few months here, that I’d dated every jerk in the city. One night, out on a walk with my dogs in the Wash Park neighborhood in Denver (the inspiration for Baxter Park), I said a little prayer to the Universe. I asked to have one of the good ones cross my path—someone with a kind heart, unwavering integrity, and a protective nature. Not a week later, I was set up on a blind date with a handsome architect. Six months later, we were engaged.

And to you, dear reader, your kind words, reviews, and recommendations mean the world to me. It’s an honor to share my stories with you. Thank you for your love and support!
