Billionaire Dragon's Nanny (Irish Dragon Shifter Brothers Book 1) Page 5

by Brittany White

She stretched her arms above her head, and he stripped the dress off of her, leaving her in only her bra. He reached around and unsnapped it, baring her pert breasts.

Leaving his clothes on for now, he bent down over her, taking her breasts into his hands. He licked over one nipple while cupping her other breast with his other hand.

She writhed on the bed as he sucked her nipple into his mouth. “Your skin tastes so good,” he said.

She grabbed at his t-shirt. “You’re still dressed.”

  “You want me naked?”

“Yes. You’re the hottest guy I’ve ever seen.”

Kellan had been hit on many times before, but coming from sweet Clara, the compliment buzzed through his body.

Kellan welcomed freeing his cock from the confines of his shorts. He stood up and stripped his shirt off before unbuttoning his shorts and pushing them off, leaving his silk boxer shorts on.

  “Get over here,” she said.

He crawled on top of her, relishing the feel of his bare chest against hers. In his boxers, his cock throbbed. Her small hands moved all over his chest. “So smooth,” she said. “I like it.”

He wasn’t very hairy; most dragon shifters weren’t. He kissed over her breasts, and down her flat stomach, all the way to her mound. “You taste so good all over, I can’t wait to taste this sweet pussy.”

Her hands grabbed the covers and pulled, gripping the sheet as she shuddered. He pushed her legs apart, exposing her core to him. He dove in, licking her clit and flicking his tongue against her flesh.

Clara thrashed her head back and forth. “Kellan!”

Hearing his name on her lips spurred him further. He licked over her folds, savoring the taste. She always smelled like vanilla and honey to him, but here, the flavor burst on his tongue and he had to grab his cock to keep from coming.

He pushed a finger into her wet pussy, thrusting it in and out of her body, while his tongue flickered over her clit.

“Kellan! I don’t want to come again until you’re inside me.”

He flattened his tongue against her clit, licking and then sucking. “You want to come on my cock?” he asked.

“Yes. Please. I want you to fuck me with your cock.”

The graphic words nearly sent him over the cliff. He stood up beside the bed and pushed his boxers off.

Her eyes lit up at the sight of him naked. She reached one arm out and ran her finger over his cock. “You’re so big,” she said.

From his bedside table, he grabbed a condom and rolled it on.

He pressed her legs further apart. He rubbed his cock over her dripping pussy and then pushed inside. His eyes closed at the feel of her body hugging his cock.

He thrust forward, rocking his hips into her body. His dragon roared inside, desperate to please his partner.

His pace quickened as she wrapped her legs around his waist. “Kellan!” She covered her mouth with her hand, suppressing her moans. “I’m getting close again.”

On Monday morning, Kellan’s secretary knocked on his door. “There’s a phone call for you from Scotland,” she said.

  “Thanks, I’ll take it now.”

“This is Kellan Cormac,” he said.

“Hello, Mr. Cormac, this is Ainslie Greer at the International Clean Energy Association. We’d like to invite you to the University of Glasgow to speak at the Clean Energy Innovation Conference on the first of August.”

Kellan froze. His heart stuttered to a stop. He hadn’t been back to Europe in thirteen years. “I’ll have to get back to you.”

“We look forward to your answer, sir.”

  Still stunned, he hung up.

  Scotland.

It wasn’t Ireland. It wasn’t home, but it was close. Dragon shifters lived in Scotland too, and he’d visited a clan there as a hatchling, along with his parents.

His dragon rose up, demanding that he go on the trip to Scotland. It’s close to home. We can see the cliffs again. We can fly, his dragon insisted.

Settle down. We still have to be careful, he admonished his dragon.

His dragon roared louder in response.

Kellan wanted to go to the conference as well, but for different reasons. He’d busted his ass to get to this point in his career. He liked going to conferences, and he enjoyed participating in the discussions with other industry leaders. He believed in the work that his company was doing with clean energy, and he wanted to share that work with the world.

If he went, how would his brothers feel? Brennan would be pissed, Kellan knew that much. He was the most cautious of them, and the most suspicious. He’d probably think the witches created the convention just to lure Kellan in. But Kellan knew that wasn’t true. He was familiar with the group that was hosting it, and they were based out of Toronto, Canada.

Kellan picked up his phone and called Liam, who was the most level-headed.

  “What’s up?” Liam asked.

There was no point in beating around the bush. “I got invited to speak at a conference in Glasgow.”

  “Scotland.”

Kellan could hear the weight in Liam’s voice. “Yes.”

  “Are you going?”

“I want to.” Kellan sighed. “My dragon wants to as well.”

“Then go. It’s been thirteen years.”

“You don’t think there’s any risk?”

“Of course there is,” Liam said.” There’s always a risk. But stick to the cities, and I’d imagine the risk is low.”

Witches never went into cities. They’d always claimed they were easily overwhelmed by the thoughts of the humans, and couldn’t stand being around groups of them. They also hated technology and shunned the sight of it.

“Thanks,” Kellan said. “Now I just have to break it to Quinn and Brennan.”

When Kellan hung up, Liam was still laughing. Neither of them would take the news nearly as well as Liam had.

The more Kellan thought about his upcoming trip, the more excited he became. He was going to take Declan with him. He’d traveled all over the States, but since Kellan avoided Europe, Declan obviously had never been.

Kellan had always thought he’d hold off on going back until he was ready to challenge the witches, but maybe that was too extreme. There was no reason he couldn't visit Scotland now. And if Declan was going, maybe Clara would want to go too.

Ever since they’d slept together the previous night, Kellan had been walking on air, and his dragon itched with the need to be near her again.

As soon as he walked through the door that afternoon, he didn’t take a detour to the bedroom to take off his suit but went to the backyard to find his nanny and his son. “Hello, everyone,” he said.

“Hi, Dad! Clara is scoring my dives!”

Clara waved at him from the side of the pool, where she was holding a whiteboard and a marker. “Hello,” she said. “He’s gotten a few perfect tens.”

Kellan was struck by the realization that he’d come to rely on her for companionship. He hoped she’d be willing to accompany him to Scotland. The trip just wouldn’t be as fun without her.

He shed his suit jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and went to sit under an umbrella near Clara. She came to join him, settling in one of the garden chairs that lined the pool. He decided to go for it.

“I have a question for you, and don’t feel like you have to say yes.” He knew he’d probably put her in somewhat of an uncomfortable position when they slept together, but not one part of him regretted it. He hoped she didn’t either. He’d wanted to talk to her about it, but Declan had already been up this morning when Kellan left for work.

“That sounds ominous,” she said with a small smile.

“I don’t think it is. Or at least I hope not.” He loosened his tie. Soon, he’d have to go in and change in order to tolerate the heat by the pool. “I got invited to speak at a conference in Scotland. I’m planning to take Declan, and I was wondering if you’d like to go with us.”

  “Scotla
nd?”

  “Yes.”

“I’ve never been. I’d love to go. When do we leave?”

  “Soon,” Kellan said.

“How soon is soon? I still only have the few sundresses I bought to wear in Texas. If I’m going to Scotland, I’d need a whole new set of clothes.”

  Kellan grinned. “Friday.”

Clara’s jaw dropped. “Oh my. I’d better get busy then.”

His grin grew wider as his dragon roared inside with approval. She was going to come with him, and having her there would make the trip a hundred times better.

Before they left, Kellan had a little errand to take care of. The longer he knew Clara, the more he hated her ex. She never mentioned him, or even spoke his name, but every now and then, Kellan saw her jump or startle at the things that didn’t seem to bother other humans. Based on what she’d told Kellan, he blamed that asshole she’d left in Mississippi.

He found the jerk easily, sitting right in his office in the county’s prosecutor’s building. What a prick. He was supposed to be defending the public from threats, and instead he was the threat.

Kellan knew he was lucky. His tailored suit got him right in the department Once he was inside, Kellan disabled every security camera, and locked the door.

The piece of shit actually tried to run, but Kellan caught him easily. Face to face, he let his eyes glow yellow. Then he spelled out exactly what would happen to the slimy little thug if he ever thought about looking for Clara.

The prosecutor even pissed his pants. “Not so tough now, are you?” Kellan asked while tears leaked from the man’s eyes.

He turned the cameras back on and unlocked the door.

“I’m going to keep an eye on you,” Kellan said with a pasted-on smile as he opened the door to leave. When he winked, Clara’s ex actually grabbed the trashcan and vomited. Kellan chucked. “Good. I’m glad you’re scared.”

Kellan straightened his tie as he climbed back into his rented car.

Should have let me have him, his dragon grumbled.

“If he ever comes near her, I will,” Kellan said. But he didn’t think that would be necessary.

  Clara

Clara could have kicked herself for sleeping with Kellan. It had been, hands down, the best night of her life. And now that she’d done it, she didn’t regret it. But it hadn’t been smart, not at all, They also hadn’t had a chance to talk about their night together, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to.

If they never addressed it, it would always remain a magical night.

Clara craved his body, but she also craved interacting with him. And now he’d invited her on a trip with him and Declan. She assumed she was going to serve as the nanny on this trip, but he’d made the offer casually so that she could reject it if she’d wanted to.

But she didn’t want to. Clara wanted to travel with Kellan. She wanted to board a plane with him and fly to another country, and stay in a hotel with him, even if it wasn’t in the same room. She wanted to visit landmarks and tourist sites, and have him explain the significance to her.

If I already have a crush on her boss, is going to a foreign country a good idea? Especially to a place like Glasgow, which already sounds romantic.

She’d been so totally dependent on her ex. She swore when she left him she’d never be that dependent on a man again.

So traveling with Kellan sounded like a terrible idea, but she wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity. Just like she hadn’t been willing to pass up the opportunity to sleep with him.

  “I’ll go,” Clara said.

“Really? You don’t need to think about it?”

“No. I’ve never been to Europe So you hardly have to twist my arm.”

Kellan got up from his lounge chair. “I’m going to go change. I’ll see you two in a minute.” Then he brushed his hand over the back of Clara’s shoulders as he walked inside. She watched him walk away.

What did he mean by that? Was last night more than a hookup?

She figured there was no point in obsessing over it.

While she watched Declan swim, she mentally planned out what she’d need for her trip to Europe.

“Have you flown on a plane before, Miss Clara?” Declan asked from the plush leather seat of Kellan’s private plane. Clara still couldn’t believe the difference. There were no long security lines at the airport. No irritated passengers shoving their way through the terminal. The experience was so totally different that it almost didn’t compare.

And Kellan’s plane itself was a far cry from the one she’d flown on before. On the commercial plane, she’d had to cram herself into a tiny coach seat. She wasn’t a big person, but she’d barely fit, and she sure couldn’t sit with her legs crossed.

Clara glanced over at Kellan who was smiling at her. “I have, but it was much different than this.”

“How? And where did you go?” Declan quizzed her.

She didn’t want to tell him her one and only plane ride had been with her ex. “Well, it was a trip to Miami. And the plane was bigger, but there were a whole lot of people.”

  “Like twenty people?”

  “More than that.”

Declan stood in his seat and bounced. “Dad, have you flown on a plane like that?”

“Yes. Before you were born, your uncles and I flew on planes like that.”

So he wasn’t always this rich. Clara had wanted to do an internet search on him, but she hadn’t yet. It felt wrong to Google her boss on his own computer, or on the phone he’d ended up giving her so she’d have one when she was out with Declan.

“Cool! I want to do that too.” Declan kept his face pressed against the window. “I love being up this high!”

“Maybe you’ll be a pilot one day,” Clara said.

Declan raced to the rear window. Clara didn’t blame him. She liked looking at Kellan, but she found herself gazing out at the ocean for most of their flight.

“I’m really glad you came with us,” Kellan said, and Clara felt the same.

The thirteen hours passed quickly. They played Dominoes and Go Fish, and Kellan showed her and Declan how to play poker.

Finally, they were in Glasgow, and the normal headache of getting off a plane and collecting luggage didn’t exist with Kellan’s private jet.

Because of the time change, it was morning in Glasgow when they arrived, and it was a breezy sixty-one degrees. A private car took them through the city to the hotel, which was a quaint bed and breakfast.

“I rented the whole place for us,” Kellan said.

“Of course you did,” Clara remarked, but she smiled at him when she said it. “Privacy will be nice.” As they made their way through the streets, she was captivated by the city. “The architecture is so different from Mississippi or Texas. I feel like I’m in a movie. Or a book.”

“You’ll have plenty of time to explore while I’m at the conference,” Kellan said, as he pointed out another landmark to her.

Once they’d unpacked, Declan crashed quickly, and Kellan tucked him into bed. “We’ll all have to sleep off the jet lag at some point,” he laughed. “You look lovely.” He touched the edge of her new sweater.

“Thank you. I’m glad I brought something besides my sundresses.”

“We have a rooftop patio. Want to join me for a drink?” he asked. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you about last week.”

Clara nodded, and her heart sped up as they climbed the stairs to the roof. She had a feeling she knew what he was referring to. “Which part?”

“Well. When we slept together. I wanted to check on you. See how you were feeling about it.” Clara pressed her lips together and looked away. “It’s an awkward thing to ask, I know,” Kellan said.

Her face must have been cherry red. “I had a great time.”

“That was a polite enough answer.”

She turned her head toward Kellan. That was the second or third time she’d heard it. His voice sounded…different.
<
br />   Kellan tugged a lock of hair away from her cheek. “What is it?”

“Every now and then, your voice sounds different. It doesn’t sound Texan at all. It doesn’t even sound American.”

To her surprise, Kellan didn’t dismiss her. He sat down heavily in one of the bistro chairs and rubbed his hand across his forehead. “It must be because I’m close to home.” He looked up, and when he made eye contact, his blue eyes were serious. “I’m Irish.”

“You’re Irish? I assumed you were, from your name, and Declan’s name.”

“I’m not just Irish by heritage. I grew up in Ireland. Until I was seventeen.”

“I had no idea.” Until today, she’d never heard the lilting tone in his voice.

“No one does, except Liam, Quinn and Brennan.”

“Because they’re Irish too?” she asked.

  “Yes.”

She sat down in the chair across from him. “Can I ask why you don’t mention it?”

“Because when we got to Texas, we didn’t want to stand out. We figured the best thing to do was drop our accents and all the quirks of the Irish culture. So we did.”

“And you were very good at it,” she said. “I’ve lived in the south my whole life, and I didn’t have a clue until we got here.”

“I guess it’s the proximity. The weather can be very similar, and so can the landscape.”

  “Very different from Cedar Lake.”

“Yes. It’s a world away from Cedar Lake.” Kellan got up and went to the balcony that overlooked the city. He stared into the distance.

She got up and joined him at the balcony. “Do you miss it?”

  “Every single day,” he said.

She wanted to ask why he didn’t visit more often. He wasn’t hampered by the lack of money, and he had access to a private jet. Maybe he didn’t have the time. She wrapped her arm around his waist. “Maybe we could visit. Do you have time to stop by Ireland before we go back to Texas?”

Every muscle in his back went rigid, but his tone was easy when he answered. “No. I’ll be ready to get back to the office.”
