“Yeah, Tek and Bear cleaning and packing up our shit now,” Tone said referring to their guns.
“Cool, tell them I said be safe. Let me talk to Ollie real quick.”
She heard movements and a little scuffling before Ollie’s voice filled the line.
“What’s up, Fe?”
“Still tense?”
He laughed lightly. “Hell yeah. You feeling generous?”
“I might be.”
“I hear you talking. I’ll see. Where you been today?”
Phoenix cursed under her breath. She didn’t like lying to Ollie, but she didn’t want to tell him the truth either. What the hell? she figured. They weren’t together. He probably already had an idea anyway since he asked.
“I went to the beach with my friend Jamar.”
“You did what? Who the fuck is that?”
“I met him at the club the other night, and stop yelling. I don’t want Tone to know.”
The phone was quiet for a minute before she heard him release a frustrated breath. She could see him now rubbing his hand across his chin. He always did that when he was mad.
“Ollie?”
“Yo, I’ll holla at you. Make sure you lock up before you go to bed.”
“Ollie!” she yelled his name again.
“What’s up, Phoenix?”
Oh shit, he real mad.
“Don’t be mad, it’s not like that.”
She could hear some more movement before hearing Ollie tell Tone he was going to get a soda. As soon as she heard the room door slam, Ollie was on her ass.
“Phoenix, you must think I’m one of your little girlfriends or some shit. Don’t be telling me you went out with some nigga and then lie like I’m supposed to be cool with it. If you wanted to have fucking girl time you should have called Zino’s young ass. See, that’s why I can’t fuck with your ass now, you be playing with a nigga’s mental. You got this shit though. Fuck you!”
Before Phoenix could respond, her phone beeped, signaling that the call had ended. She wanted to be mad at him, but she couldn’t. This was her fault. She knew better than to tell him about Jamar. Deep down inside, maybe she did want him to be jealous. Either way it went, he was mad now and there was nothing she could do to change it. Versus calling back, she sent a text to his phone.
I love you Ollie. I didn’t mean to upset you. Be careful tonight.
She waited a few minutes for a response, but it never came, so she went to sleep.
Chapter 4
Ollie stormed down the hallway to the soda machine and got him a coke. Phoenix was on some other shit calling him talking about some nigga like he was a bitch. If he was in front of her, her ass would have been fucked up for spitting some shit like that to him. He had a trick for her ass though, she wanted to act brand new like they weren’t feeling each other, then he’d do the same shit. He popped the top to his drink and headed back to their room.
When he walked in, Bear and Tone had the guns spread across the floor loading them, while Tek and Zino discussed the floor plan of the house they were about to hit. It had been given to them upon arrival. He took his position at the small computer on the desk and continued shutting down the security cameras in their hotel. He couldn’t run the risk of someone spotting them leaving with all the guns they were taking with them. They had less than an hour before it was time for them to leave and handle shit.
“Aye, Phoenix said she love y’all for the thousandth time today and she’ll see us tomorrow.” Ollie needed to say something so he didn’t look suspicious for taking his call out of the room.
“Her ass acts like she’s the oldest.” Bear laughed.
“She just be worried. We’re all she has. Some shit pops off and we don’t make it home she’s going to be a fucking mess.” Zino was going defend her no matter what.
“This nigga,” Tone mushed Zino’s head. “I be feeling like he her damn brother and I’m just a nigga she knows.”
They all laughed at Tone. He made jokes about Zino and Phoenix all the time.
“She belong to all of us. Shit, she my fucking sister too, but let’s worry about that tomorrow. We need our minds in the right spot right now,” Bear said.
“Okay, so boom. We gon’ do it a little different tonight. Bear, you gone stand guard on the porch. Make sure nobody goes in or out unless it’s us. Z, you’re driving. Me, Ollie, and Tek hitting the inside.”
Everybody spoke their concerns to confirm their game plan before packing up and exiting the hotel. They wouldn’t be coming back after they finished. They never slept in the same place as an outside job. Tone didn’t trust that shit. He said the moment they fell asleep they could either end up in jail, or dead, so they took it home after every set up.
Ollie looked around the room to make sure they’d gotten everything before he wiped their prints from the furniture and followed his friends out the door. The truck was quiet, minus the music playing. Even that was playing at a low volume. Everyone was deep in their own thoughts, preparing for what was at hand.
Zino turned the truck down the dark block, driving at a moderate speed. Not too fast and not too slow. It was a little after four in the morning, so the block was pretty empty minus the two crackheads huddled in front of the dumpster. He purposely drove past the house so they could peep the scene. They noticed that light in the living room was still on, which meant those niggas were still up. When he circled the block a few more times Tone instructed him to park at the bando a few houses down. They all sat quietly waiting for Tone to speak.
“Z, you and Bear know y’all shit, I don’t have to tell y’all nothing.” He turned and looked on the backseat at Ollie and Tek. “I know I ain’t got to say this shit, but I’ ma say it anyway. No fumbling. Let’s make this shit quick as possible. This shit should be sweet, in and out. Got it?”
Ollie nodded “Fa sho, Bruh.”
“We’re on point.” Tek agreed.
Ollie passed Tone the pump action shotgun, Tek the Mac-11, and he grabbed his FN. Once all three men were strapped up, they cocked their guns back, and placed their red bandannas over their faces. With their black hoodies on their heads, they exited the truck with Bear. They crept up the sidewalk discreetly, but in swift motions. They had to be alert because the niggas they were running up on weren’t amateurs. Being that they did this same kind of shit on the regular, they were probably strapped as well. As they got closer, they could hear music playing. Since Ollie had the most fire power, he and Bear crept onto the porch first, but on opposite sides.
Ollie scooted closer to the window and peered inside. When he noticed one of the jack boys on the couch asleep, he motioned for Tone and Tek to go to the door. Tone positioned himself in front of the door, with Tek right next to him. He looked around the porch to make sure everyone was in place before he lifted his right leg and kicked the door in.
As soon as the door flew open, Tek started shooting. He hit the man on the sofa in the top of his head, killing him instantly. They could hear the loud talking from the back room cease. The house was quiet for a minute, before shots rang out. The men on the other side of the all were letting off shots relentlessly. Bullets flew through the wall, scattering dust and sheetrock all over the living room. The noise from the choppa the other man had was deafening. Ollie and Tone had run into the kitchen before noticing that Tek was hit. He crawled toward them while holding his arm. Even through the pain, he was still holding his gun. They hurried to grab him and pulled him into the kitchen with them.
Once they all noticed it was just a flesh wound where the large bullet had grazed his skin, they breathed a little easier. For a few moments the house had gone eerily quiet aside from the music playing in the background.
“Who the fuck is in my house? Y’all niggas should know I’m not going out like this, y’all gotta kill me,”
Ollie, Tone, and Tek stood in the kitchen listening to him talk. They could hear the fear in his voice. These niggas was pussy. Tone tried to formulate a quick
plan to get them all out alive. When he finally came up with something, he made Tek lie on the floor and pretend to be dead while he and Ollie hid in the kitchen closet. It was a tight fit, but it would have to do. Tek lay in the middle of the floor with blood spilling onto the white tile. This was a major risk, but it was all they had.
Although Tone and Ollie were unsure, Tek didn’t look the least bit fazed. His little crazy ass was actually lying on the floor smiling. It took them a minute, but the other men finally emerged from the back, assumingly to check and see if they had left. Ollie and Tone looked through the bullet holes that had been shot into the door, watching as they eased up onto Tek’s body. The nigga in the front kicked Tek’s foot just before he aimed his gun.
Before he could pull the trigger, Ollie burst out of the closet, bringing all of their attention to him and Tone. He tried to pull his trigger, but was unable to, being that Tek had just blown the back of his head off. Blood and brain matter flew around the kitchen, painting the walls red. Tone and Ollie squeezed their triggers letting hot shells rip through the bodies of the other two men. Blood splattered on their faces and clothes as they helped Tek from the floor. Realization kicked in as they came down out of survival mode. They’d just killed some niggas in their own hood. That shit was too hot, they had to get out of there. They had already been in there too long, the neighbors were probably calling the police already.
Ollie grabbed Tek’s gun as Tone helped out of the house. Once Bear saw it was them coming out of the door he grabbed Tek’s small body from Tone and tossed him over his shoulder. As they ran toward the truck, they noticed a group of boys standing on the corner. They were looking at them, but hadn’t made any moves, so they paid them no mind and hopped in the truck.
No sooner than they were all situated in the truck, their back window was shot out. When they looked up, the niggas from the block were letting off shots in their direction. Ollie wanted so badly to get out of the car, but Bear kept saying no. Zino was about to drive away, but Ollie grabbed the closest gun to him and hopped out anyway. He stood in the middle of the sidewalk with the Mac firing off shots with no mercy. He didn’t give a fuck where he was, these lil niggas was dying tonight.
Bear was hanging out of the back window busting the pump covering for Ollie and Tone. Tone had just exited the car to help his best friend. With Ollie’s FN in hand, bullets were releasing at a rapid pace. The FN was small, but it was fully auto and bullets flew out with no problem. The Zoo Crew turned that sidewalk into a fucking blood fest. There were lifeless bodies leaking from the living room sofa, to the cold concrete outside. Ollie slapped Tone’s back as they ran back to the truck.
The moment Zino heard their door close, he sped off. The only stop they made was to get rid of their guns, change their clothes, and switch cars. Tone had called their contractor and he’d left them another ride in an abandoned parking garage. After grabbing all of their things out of the truck they’d used for this job, Tone set it on fire and they hit the interstate headed to the house.

When Phoenix woke up the next day it was going on one o’clock in the afternoon. She stretched before checking her phone for any missed calls. She had one from Tone and two from Zino. Zino had texted her to say that they were calling to let her know they were home. She’d made them start doing that a few months ago because they’d almost scared the life out of her a few times when they came home and she hadn’t known they were there. Phoenix texted Z to let him know she was up before heading into her bathroom to brush her teeth.
Since she’d let her hair air dried last night it was a big curly mess. She grabbed her moisturizer and spray bottle filled with water and leave in conditioner and wet her hair down. This was one of the things she liked about being natural. She didn’t have to do too much to make herself look decent. Her curl pattern was loose because she had a good grade of hair. She brushed her hair and smoothed it up into a big puff on the top of her head. Her curls hung long and loosely around her colorful turban headband.
Once she was satisfied with the way her hair looked, she went back into her room to get dressed. She had on a pair of biker shorts and was putting her arm in her sports bra when she heard her door open. She almost jumped out of her fucking skin.
“Shit, Ollie. You scared the mess out of me.” She finished pulling her bra over her head before placing her hand over her chest. She needed to calm her heart down because it was about to beat out of her chest.
“I should have scared your stupid ass.”
“Ollie, not today, okay? I will fuck your ass up. Don’t come in here treating me like I’m one of these hoes you be fucking.”
“Nah, I ain’t treating you like you’re one of them. Believe me, if I was, my foot would be in your ass by now. They know better than to call me talking about some other nigga.”
“I told you that wasn’t what I was trying to do. You asked, and I don’t like lying to you.”
“I ain’t trying to hear that shit, Phoenix. You knew what the fuck you were doing. You wanted a nigga to feel some type of way about the shit.”
Phoenix turned to face him and crossed her arms over her breasts. “I did not.”
“Yes the fuck you did. You know how I get. You wanted me to act crazy, that shit turns you on.” Ollie walked toward her and she stepped back. He grabbed both sides of her exposed stomach and stared into her eyes.
Phoenix didn’t say anything because he was right. In the back of her mind, she knew he would be mad and she wanted him to be. As stupid as it was, just liked to feel like she had him that deep in love with her. Her eyes were cast down to the floor when he touched her chin and lifted her head.
“Don’t tell me shit like that no more.”
See, stuff like that is why she played the games she played. Ollie always made her feel like she mattered. With him, she felt important. Tone was the only other person that showed her that type of attention, but it didn’t feel the same as it did when Ollie did it.
“You want me to kill that bitch ass nigga you was with?”
“It’s not that serious, Oliver.”
“Yes it is. You made it that serious when you felt the need to tell me about that nigga. Quit playing with my emotions.”
“I don’t mean to do that”
“Yes, the fuck you do,” Ollie’s words were sharp as he eyeballed her.
Phoenix stared his ass right back down. She was trying her hardest not to let his presence intimidate, her but it was hard as hell. That nigga was so fucking cocky and sexy. His chocolate face was glistening under the beam of sun that was shining through her window. Even though his face was balled up into a scowl, he was still the most handsome man she’d ever seen. Jamar was fine as fuck too, but he wasn’t touching Ollie. This nigga had sex appeal for the gods.
“Fuck you staring so hard for?”
Phoenix scrunched her face up and jerked her head back a little. This nigga was tripping. He should not have still been this mad. There was no telling how many people he’d killed the night before, on top of driving all the way home and he was still mad? Ollie had issues.
“Nigga you right up on me, what else you want me to do? If you’ll step your black ass back some I wouldn’t have to look right in your damn face.” Phoenix tried to step around him, but he tightened his grip on her waist.
“Nah, don’t move. You gon’ stay your lil’ hot ass right here.”
Phoenix narrowed her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest again. “Move, Oliver.”
“I don’t care about you squinting them slanted ass eyes. That shit is sexy to me, so fuck with it if you want to,”
Phoenix let out a frustrated breath and turned her head to the side. Oliver wanted to play, and she wasn’t feeling it. One minute his ass was mad, then being sarcastic the next.
“You must have just got done brushing your teeth?” Ollie smirked before he leaned forward and licked the side of her face.
Phoenix squealed and wiped her face with her hand
while he stood there laughing. Before she could stop him, his lips were on hers. His tongue pushed into her mouth as he sucked on her bottom lip. Her pussy was thumping just from his kisses. Her arms went around his neck as his hands roamed all over her body. He was caressing and squeezing on everything his hands touched. Bending his knees slightly so that they were face to face, he picked her up and walked to her bed. He sat down with her straddling his lap and continued kissing her.
“I’m tense as fuck, Phoenix. Even more now since your little stunt. You ready to let me in?”
“Yeah… I’m ready.” She was so hot from all the kissing and grinding they were doing, she couldn’t say no anymore.
“That’s like music to my ears.” Ollie stood up and placed her down on the bed.
She sat back, watching him move around the room, locking the door and removing his clothes. When he was completely nude, she began to get nervous. She knew she’d said yes, but now she was second guessing her decision. His dick was too big, and she wasn’t sure she wanted to feel that just yet.
Ollie moved closer to her and pulled the little pink bra over her head. He then rolled the spandex biker shorts down her thighs and dropped them onto the floor. He didn’t say anything for a while, instead he just stood there looking at her. She felt like a fish in a bowl as his gaze penetrated her. It felt like he was undressing her again with his eyes, even though she was already naked.
Phoenix reached for her pillow to shield her body, but he took it away and threw it back on the bed. When she finally made eye contact with him, he was easing on top of her. Ollie kissed from her neck down to her breasts before stopping to suck on her nipples. Her back arched and she released a light moan. Her body shivered as he licked her stomach and rubbed his fingers around in her wetness.
Ollie bit his bottom lip as he maintained eye contact. “You’re wet as hell.”
Phoenix didn’t know what she was supposed to say to that, so she didn’t say anything.
“You want your pussy ate, Phoenix?”
