Quest for Immortality Page 29

by Celeste Raye

  “So, did you like it?”

“Did I like the drink, or did I like what you did to me?”

“Well, I already know that you liked what I did to you, many times, if I remember correctly. I was asking about the drink.”

Her blue eyes were wide when they finally met his.

“The drink came on very quickly. I don't know if I would have drunk that if I would have known what it would do to me.”

“I thought you said it felt good.”

“It did, but you cannot imagine the thoughts it put in my head. I would have done anything...”

Her voice trailed off, but Dennis was satisfied with the answer. It was certainly good enough for him.

“Well, I didn't want you to do anything while you were on it. Maybe I hadn't thought it through; it usually doesn't hit one of us that hard. I think it must have been more potent for you because of you being a witch.”

She waved him off and told him that it was no big deal. Dennis knew that she was saying that simply because she did not want to continue having the conversation. He was probably enjoying it too much anyway.

  Chapter Sixteen

Although Dennis had teased Jazz about the juice, it could have been worse. She remembered rather specifically how she had acted, and even the thought of it made her cheeks turn red. As much as she wished that she could forget about it, there was no way that he was going to let it happen. He had mischief on his face. She knew she was in trouble.

What she didn't know was what would have happened if she had been around someone else. Jazz recalled very clearly telling him that she would go get it somewhere else if he did not give her what she needed. What made her cheeks flush with embarrassment to even think about it was how she had begged.

Jazz remembered him telling her no many times. The flashbacks were constant, and they made her uncomfortable. It was not something that she wanted to remember about herself. It was even worse to be faced with it the next morning. She wanted so badly to take him up on his offer to make her feel better. Jazz knew one thing for certain: Dennis would certainly be able to do just that. He was a very talented man.

She was saved by Cali and Connie coming to see her. They wanted to bring Dahlia into the mix and go over some spells to maybe help fight against the remaining Stein witch. Every time her aunt was brought up, Jazz felt something go through her. It was this feeling of doubt and wonder if she could go through with it. Could she really go against her own family?

“Do you really think this is necessary? You said yourself that she cannot live much longer without the sister bond. Why don't we just let her die?”

“Because she is old and powerful and very smart. Even though she doesn't have the sister bond with your mother anymore, it doesn't mean that she will not find a way. We have a way for her to live forever, and she knows it. She is going to stop at nothing to get inside of here to get it. We can’t just leave it up to chance. I swear your aunt has even more lives than a cat.”

Jazz nodded her head and pretended she agreed. They wouldn’t tell her why Marl was so insistent on finding her, or something that they kept mentioning. Could it be that they were just paranoid?

“I just don't like the sound of it. She is my aunt. I've never met her, but can she really be as bad as everybody says?”

Dalia and Connie agreed without a second thought. It was synced and quick. Obviously, they felt like she was exactly the bad guy that they made her out to be. Jazz just still wasn't sure.

  “She really is,” Connie said.

Dahlia agreed and said that she had never met someone so evil before. “If you would hear some of the stories from my husband, Justin, he was raised by all of the Stein witches, it would make your blood boil like it does mine. I know that it is hard because she is your family, but you have to understand this is how it is. There is no embellishment needed. The truth of the matter is there is probably a lot more that she has done that we don't know. She has lived for so long that history wasn't keeping up with everything back then.”

Jazz kept getting that funny feeling that she did not want to talk about it. It was as if even talking to about Marl, was going to do something negative. She did not want to decide until she met her. Or the very old woman died of natural causes. Jazz did not want to be the one that took care of her. The very thought of it left a bitter taste in her mouth.

“I am starting to get hungry. I am going to find something to eat. Thank you for the visit.”

She saw the two women look at each other strangely, but Jazz did not want to think about it. Her mind came up with all sorts of scenarios, and none of them were good. How were they going to feel when she made it crystal clear that she did not want to attack the last person that knew her mother? How would they accept her then?

Even if her aunt Marl was as bad as everyone said, she would still have information that no one else had. She knew her mother for centuries, and if nothing else, Jazz wanted to get that information from her. She wanted to know how her mother really was, even if it was evil incarnate that was going to tell her. It would still give the same opportunity for her to grow and maybe move on from all of it.

She took off towards the woods with not too much on her mind. She was trying to push back all the feelings that were filling up the inside of her. Half of it, she blamed on Dennis. If he wouldn't have awakened something inside of her, she wouldn't be so full of emotions that she couldn’t control.

As a child, she had not been able to control much of anything. She was moved around from place to place and leaving to live with the covenant when she was fifteen was the first and only time that she was able to really decide about her life. That decision turned out to be one of the worst ones. It made her question everything. Moreover, it made her question herself.

Now, she was supposed to make a decision that would change the course of her life. Either way she went, someone was going to get hurt, and Jazz wished that she could bow out of all of it.

Jazz got a little ahead of herself. She was trying so hard not to think that all she did was get herself lost.

She looked around and could not recognize anything. Jazz thought about sending up a magical flare to alert Dahlia or Connie to her position, but they were the last people that she wanted to see right now. They were the ones that made everything so complicated. Connie especially, the sister that she always wanted and never knew she had. Connie was clear on her feelings, and Jazz wanted to agree with her, so that they could finally agree.

Instead of getting help, Jazz just picked a direction by navigating towards the sun. She tried to remember something from camping and tracking, but nothing was coming to her. Jazz only managed to get deeper into the woods and further away from where she was trying to get.

It was going to be nightfall soon and considering the attacks that happened not too far from there, Jazz was not too inclined to stay out in the woods overnight if she didn't have to.

As soon as the sun started to go down, she began to get nervous. Jazz was not usually the worrying type, but the last few days had put her world in a tailspin. She couldn't count on anything at this moment to be real, things that she had always taken for granted before. Now everything was up in the air.

The darker the woods became, the harder it was for her to refuse to call for help. Jazz was embarrassed to get lost so quickly, especially in a place that she had lived for years and years. She should know the woods like the back of her hand. But it seemed like the few years that she had spent at the covenant had really changed things. Trees and vines had overgrown the path that she used to use when she was a teen. It was not the woods of her memory.

She was starting to get more than a little concerned. As much as Jazz wanted to believe that she could make it back, she was starting to consider that maybe she would not be able to do it on her own.

It was kind of ironic, considering that Jazz was thinking about taking off and going it alone. She thought it was for the best, yet now she found herself in a situation w
here another person could really make a difference in her life. The truth of that was not lost on her at all.

About the time she was going to finally give in and send up a flare, she heard her name being called from quite a distance. It was possibly the only person in the world she wanted to see at that moment. If anybody was going to rescue her, Jazz was glad that it was Dennis.

She called back to him, and he raced over quickly. Jazz didn’t get a ‘thank you’ out before he was pulling her close for a hug and then pressing his lips to hers. There was no more pretending that something wasn’t going on between the two of them. “Where have you been? I have been so damn worried about you.”

Jazz told him that she was fine and accepted another hug from his hard form. Being in his arms made her feel like everything was finally going to be alright. She really needed to feel that right now.

  Chapter Seventeen

“You have got to stop taking off, Jazz. You’re really trying to drive me crazy, aren’t you?”

She pulled back and told Dennis that she had gotten lost.

  “You got lost?”

“Yeah, I went for a walk and I got turned around or something. It is kind of embarrassing, Dennis, so can we not make a big deal out of it?”

He agreed, but it did not sit well with Dennis. Something was going on with Jazz. He had seen the way she was looking earlier when the three women had been talking. Dennis knew better than to get involved with women issues and what was going on between them, but he had to ask.

“Is there something going on with Connie and Dahlia?”

“No, not really. I just don't think that you guys quite realize how strange it is for me. You guys want me to take out my aunt, someone I’ve never met. It's weird. I know that she's horrible and all of that, but she knew my mom, and in the end, my mom wasn't that bad. Why would I want to destroy the one person that knows anything about her?”

Dennis pulled back and really looked at her. There was no way that he could agree to anything that she was saying. She actually wanted to talk to Marl, but Dennis knew that it would spell disaster. He had to get her off of thinking about such things. There was no way that it would turn out well.

Instead of arguing with Jazz, he kissed her. He was still wrapped up in the fact that he thought she was missing again. The fear that had taken over his body, as well as the relief that he had now. Now she was in his arms and talking crazy. He had to get her mind on something else. Something that made sense.

Jazz went limp with the kiss, and even though it was the middle of the night and they were in the woods, he was going to take advantage of the situation. There was no more bon-bon juice to worry about messing with her mind. None of that mattered now. All that mattered, was the fact that she was kissing him back and encouraging more. Dennis certainly had more to give.

Somehow, he pulled her down to the ground. There were a few sticks that he had to brush aside to set her in the soft grass. There were trees not far from them that made the ground uneven with their roots, but Dennis couldn't be bothered, and Jazz certainly didn't seem to care one way or another. Her arms were wrapped around his neck, and she was feverishly kissing him.

Dennis knew this was not the way he wanted it to go. Instead of a bed underneath him, it was nothing but the ground. The night was dark, the moon was out, and his blood might as well have been filled with the chemicals because Dennis felt like he was about to explode if he was not given entrance soon.

With that in mind, he reached his hand up her skirt and immediately found semi-soaked panties waiting for him. It felt like she was always waiting for him, so hot and ready in need. It was everything that he needed to move forward.

As soon as Dennis contacted her bare flesh, ripping the tiny piece of cotton away, he heard the most delicious sounds coming from between Jazz’s lips. She had a way about her, and each moan and groan made him even harder than before, if that was possible. He was not going to be able to stop this time. Dennis knew that he finally had to have Jazz in all the ways that he had been thinking about. Dennis was not going to be able to go another day without it.

“You are already so ready for me, Jazz. So wet.”

Each word was pronounced with a little dip inside of her to test the waters. She squirmed with his touch and it wasn’t long, before her body was tensing up. Dennis knew what was going to come next, just by the higher pitch of the noises that were coming out of her. He wanted to push her over the edge, hear the cry of pleasure that he was sure would be next, but Dennis did not want it to be that way. Not this time.

Against tradition and how things were supposed to be done, Dennis, the Alpha, was willing to make an exception for her. Jazz would be his mate in due time, but he had no desire to wait that long to possess her. It was all he could think about, and once he freed his desires, he positioned himself exactly where he needed to be. There was no more wait inside of him. He would snap. It was just that simple, and he couldn’t allow it to happen.

He entered her slowly and made sure that their eyes met before he started to push inside of her. Dennis was going to want to remember the look on her face for the rest of his life. It was just one of those moments that he wasn't willing to give up.

Her eyes started to flutter shut, and he stopped. Only the smallest bit was inside of her, and she started to squirm. Jazz was the one that could not wait, but Dennis needed it this way. He had to have it this way, and he had to see the look in her eyes when he filled her completely. Nothing else was going to do.

  “Why did you stop?”

“Because I want you to look at me when I slide inside of you, Jazz. I want to see all of it.”

That made her blush, and then she squirmed a little bit, trying to pull his attention away. He knew the ploy and pulled out completely, until there was a popping sound as he left her insides.

“You can't do it slow. Just do it fast and...”

Their eyes were locked, and he took her suggestions to heart. Pushing in fast and deep, he heard the sound of the air being pushed out her lungs. That wasn’t all, though. There was a brimming look of shock on her face, and Dennis kissed her lips, feeling himself throughout the deepest parts of her. He would have suggested doing it slowly and taking it easy because of his girth and size, but her suggestion had worked as well.

Her eyes were heavy, but he had seen it all happen, and the realization that she was stuffed full was an even stronger aphrodisiac than anything else. Bon-bon juice had nothing on the look that she gave him at that moment.

Dennis pulled out a little bit and felt her body trying to keep him inside. Her insides were suffocating his member, and he had to pull free all the way before he lost himself too soon and ruined it all.

Jazz was clinging to him and making it hard for him to move like he wanted to. Dennis wanted to slam in and out of her quickly. She was so damn wet that it would not be hard to do it.

Since it wasn't working the way he wanted it to, he had to go back onto his knees and pull her to him. He could feel the quivering in her thighs, and it only added to the moment. The wide-eyed look in her blue eyes was back. She was not expecting it.

As soon as he pushed deep inside of her again, it was clear to both of them that he was even deeper than before. The cry of pleasure was louder, higher in tone too. It was almost desperate this time, and Dennis had to grit his teeth.

  Chapter Eighteen

Jazz was having a hard time keeping it together. She was lost in the woods, afraid of asking anyone for help, and the next minute, she was being filled to the brim by Dennis. He was bigger, stronger, harder, deeper. If it was possible, Dennis even seemed to move faster than anyone she had been with before. Jazz did not know if it was because he was a bear shifter or not. She had no idea how that worked, but all she knew was he was overwhelming her, and she felt like she was going to explode. And maybe not in a good way.

The width of his member stretched her and made it hard for her to breathe. Jazz had wanted this, asked for it even, but sh
e had no idea what she was really asking for. If she would have known, she probably would have gone in another direction. Jazz would have let him take his time and torture them both slowly instead.

She tried to push back from him, if only to give herself one moment to breathe before the next onslaught of pleasure tore through her body. She knew it was coming, but then he was bringing her to a position where her legs were in his arms. Then Dennis threw them over his shoulder like it was nothing and went even deeper. This time, he was bigger, or she was smaller. Everything around her started to blur and all she could do was feel the man inside of her. He was making Jazz realize that she had never felt something like that before. Whether they were destined to be together was up in the air, but his lovemaking was like nothing she had ever felt before.

Jazz clung to him and thrashed around at some point, trying to get away. After so many orgasms, she became too sensitive, and it seemed like every time he pushed in, her body was tensing up for another one. It was just too much. Those were the only two words that she could come up with. Too. Much.

“I can't, Dennis. You're going to have to finish. I can’t take you anymore.”

He growled an answer and moved faster. He pushed her legs together, and each ankle was on either side of his neck. From there, he wrapped his arms around her legs and held her still while he started to slam in. It was hard and fast and took her breath away. Jazz was trying to get free, but there was no getting through to him at this point. Something had changed, and Dennis wasn’t there anymore. Animalistic need took over, and it took over quickly.

His green eyes that usually gave her such comfort were now staring down at her as if she were prey. Jazz did her best not to be scared of it. She did not want to be scared of Dennis, but it was hard not to when he was like that.

His body was filling her up and taking no prisoners. Jazz didn’t even know if her body was even her own anymore. It didn’t feel like it, not when Dennis was mastering it so completely.
