Lucky Between the Sheets: An Anthology of Stories that Get to the Point Page 67

by L. A. Boruff

Somehow, we got out of the bar and off to the side. Venni managed to wrap himself around me, and he kept nuzzling my neck, his breath hot against my skin. He peppered kisses along the sensitive flesh and I had to suppress a shiver against his intimate touch.

“Okay, clue,” I said, pulling out the paper and turning to face Davies and Elliot. My mouth popped open as Davies tried to wrestle Elliot, his lips puckered, eyes closed. He even made kissing noises.

“Dammit, Laila, get him off me before I remove his nuts,” Elliot snapped, and it probably would have been angry enough to make his point if he didn’t hiccup at the end.

I bit my lip, swallowing my laugh, but it was too much. My eyes burned and unable to hold back, I broke out laughing. My side ached as Davies continued to try to kiss Elliot, and Elliot tried to hold him back, his body jerking with each hiccup.

“What is going on?” I asked, and stepped toward them. Venni’s arms around my torso stopped me from moving and I had to remove his hand from cupping my breast. His touches were starting to make it hard to focus.

“My lips tingle,” Davies said and tried to make another move on Elliot. Unfortunately, Elliot wasn’t fast enough and Davies lips connected with his jaw. Davies moved forward to get a better hold on Elliot, and Elliot looked a little green.

“Okay,” I said slowly, trying to swallow my laugh. “Okay. Come here, Davies.” My low, soft voice drew him to me and he walked toward me, a little drunkenly. I beckoned him to me as I backed up toward the nearby alley.

Venni moved with me, too focused on touching my body to care what we were doing. Apparently, his drink turned him into a horny bastard. Mix that with the fact that he was a wolf shifter, and well, he was lucky I’d always be willing when it came to him. Otherwise, he’d end up in the hands of the city’s enforcers, and I’d be happy to leave him there too.

“Elliot, can you, uh, read the clue for us while I try to get their heads back into the game,” I asked, holding out the sheet of paper.

He hiccupped as he grabbed it and then backed away when Venni growled, his possessive side coming out. That worried me because Davies’ focus was now on me. They were going to have to play nice.

When we got to the opening to the alley, before I could do anything else, Venni reached the end of his control and lifted me and carried me into the alley. My heart jumped into my throat, but not out of fear. All his touching lit my body on fire and I’d always been a horny person. If Venni wanted to touch me, I wasn’t going to say no. And if Davies wanted to spoil me with his kisses, he was more than welcome. I barely held onto enough thought to at least throw up a barrier so no one would see or hear us. If they looked into the alley, all they’d see would be emptiness. It’d have to do with what was about to happen.

Venni’s lips smashed against mine hard as his hands fumbled with my jeans. Another set of hands were on my waist, slowly lifting up my sweater so that the cool air brushed against my warm skin. I shivered against the cold and pressed against Venni to escape it. A shifter’s body always ran hotter. He took that as a good sign and nipped at my lip. His tongue slipped into my mouth and I was just as lost as he was as he deepened the kiss, his chest rumbling with satisfaction.

Another set of lips found my shoulder and trailed up along my neck to the back of my ear, setting all my nerves on fire. I gasped as Venni pulled away from the kiss.

“You taste good,” Davies moaned and sucked on my skin.

As Davies moved up, Venni went down, taking my jeans with him, leaving only my soaked underwear. He paused, his nose flaring as he inhaled the scent of me. A low rumble came from him before he continued, helping me step out of them, removing my shoes too. I wanted to be self-conscious because we were in public, granted in a dark alley with Elliot blocking the entrance, but still in public. But the idea of getting caught only made me hotter and my body refused to align with my thoughts. Venni’s fingers didn’t help as they skimmed my inner thighs higher, toward my most intimate place. The anticipation was building as the two men lit my body on fire.

Davies cupped my face and claimed my lips. He tasted of berries and a little magic nipped at my tongue, most likely from the potion he drank. I moaned, loving the taste of him. My body quivered and the cool air met me as Venni lowered my underwear. At least he had enough restraint not to tear them off.

A heartbeat later, one of my legs was over Venni’s shoulder and his mouth was on me, his tongue flicking over my clit. I bit down on Davies’ bottom lip as an electric pulse went through my body.

  “More,” I moaned.

Davies returned to kissing me, slipping his hand up my shirt until he could cup one of my breasts. Venni continued lapping at my core, stroking the fire inside of me, and between the two of them, I wasn’t sure I’d last. I wanted to scream out to the sky and barely held back.

My hips rocked involuntarily. My nipples hardened and Davies’ free hand cupped my right breast. I moaned against his mouth as a finger skimmed over a hardened peak. Knowing exactly what I liked, Davies drew away from me, leaving me panting as he moved down and lifted my shirt up high enough to bare my bra-covered breasts. The clasp on the front made it easy for him to unhook and let my breasts spill out. Suddenly, his lips were there, sending me over. My breasts had always been sensitive and were a must to be played with during foreplay. Davies knew exactly how I liked it as he drew a nipple into his mouth and bit down gently.

With the two of them expertly working my body, I was going nuts. I couldn’t draw in a full thought. Every part of my body grew sensitive as heat swirled and spread through me, filling me to the brim. I was burning, so hot that my magic crackled around us. The men moaned against the sensation and it spurred them on as their movements became frantic.

Venni’s mouth made loved with my core while Davies acted as if my nipples were the best thing in the world as he gave both of them attention. The building heat within blossomed and I screamed out as the orgasm crashed through me and my limbs went weak. Being pinned against the wall was the only reason I stayed on my feet.

Venni growled and moved up my body. Davies backed off, and I whimpered—missing his touch—but Venni filled that void. His intense energy was overwhelming as he encompassed me with his existence. By the time he was standing, lips along my jaw, his hard cock pressed into my stomach, I was ready to take him down and ride him hard.

I was about to do it when he beat me to it, taking the lead first. His hands grabbed my waist and picked me up, leaving me no choice but to wrap my legs around him. Our bodies pressed together, his hard member pressing against my pussy. At some point, he had managed to shed his pants and underwear.

“In me. Now,” I growled out, wrapping my arms around his shoulders, hands buried in his black hair.

Venni’s dark eyes gave me a triumphant smile before he moved his hips back and shifted until he was lined up with me. I thought his control was gone enough for him to just shove inside of me, but instead, he moved slowly, entering painfully slow. I moaned, trying to move my hips, but he just pulled back, making me whimper.

“Venni,” I whined, needing him in me.

“On my terms.” His voice was low and husky, his eyes hooded as he stared at me. “I’m in control this time, Laila.”

I stilled at his words before slowly nodding. He needed the control, and with him, or with any of my guys, I didn’t mind giving it to them. Sometimes.

Satisfied with my response, he inched inside of me again and I tilted my head back, loving how it felt to feel him. Once he was slowly sheathed, his head tucked into my neck as he breathed heavily.

Then his hips moved and my muscles tightened. I moaned, wanting him to pick up the speed, but he was in charge and he was determined to draw out my pleasure.

  “Please,” I begged.

As if that was the magic word, he picked up speed, slamming into me, sending heat whirling through me as my pleasure built. I moved with him, taking him deep inside of me as my muscles clenched around him. He grunted, h
is hold on me tightening.

“More. Fuck. I need more,” I said.

He gave me exactly what I asked for, shifting his position just enough so that as he moved inside of me, the sensation was completely different, and he hit exactly where I needed him too.

My second orgasm slammed into me and I tilted my head back as I screamed. Venni bit into that sensitive spot between my shoulder and neck, not breaking the skin. He released a growl and came too. His bite sent another surge of bliss through me, and I clung to him as my body practically convulsed, overwhelmed with how hard the orgasm hit me.

As we both came down from our high, all we could hear was our heavy breathing, our skins damp with sweat.

“Shit,” Venni said, slowly pulling away from me. I whimpered at the loss as he pulled out of me. “Shit. That wasn’t supposed to happen.” He ran a hand through his hair, his expression cautious as he looked at me. Noticing my state, pantless, with my shirt pulled up, my bra unclasped, he growled. His jaw clenched as he reached over and fixed my bra and shirt.

“I’m not complaining,” I said, giving him a chance not to make me feel like an idiot.

Something in my voice tipped him off that he was on thin ice if his response was the wrong one. His expression softened and he moved back into my space, pulling me into his chest. “Not what I meant, Laila, I just… I don’t lose control like that.”

“You do if you take a drink that makes you horny. Just consider yourself lucky I was here. I don’t think Elliot would have liked you pawing at him. And with Davies becoming a kissing fiend, he’d have never stood a chance against you two.”

Venni’s chest shook as he laughed while my thoughts went to that. What would it be like to see that, three of my men pawing at each other, taking off their clothes—

“Stop right there!” Davies declared, breaking me from my fantasy. “Do not go there. Don’t you dare.”

I turned my head so I could see him. His eyes were narrowed as he glared at me. Elliot stood behind him, flustered with the events.

“No fucking way will whatever the hell just went through your head ever happen.” Davies made an x with his arms and did a bzzt noise. “No fucking way.” He faked a gag.

I leaned my head against the wall. “You’re no fun. You were the one trying to kiss Elliot.” I blinked and then met Elliot’s gaze. “You’re not hiccupping anymore!” I was a little sad it was already over.

He grinned. “The show you guys just gave me cured me.”

Venni moved closer. “Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked, looking me over, but had to look away when he realized my bottom half was still very much exposed. I winced at the wetness in between my legs. There was no way in hell I could go into public like this.

“You’re lucky I have magic,” I said, hunting for my jeans and shoes. Elliot found them and passed them to me. My nose wrinkled at a stain on my pants. “Really lucky.”

I called up my magic to clean up the mess we made.

“Nifty trick,” Davies said with a grin, the gears shifting in his eyes.

  “No,” I said.

  “What?” he asked innocently.

“Just because I can clean up the mess with some magic doesn’t mean there will be repeats of this.”

He chuckled as he stepped through the ward. Venni helped me get ready, still quiet, and barely looking at me. When he straightened, about to step away, I grabbed his bicep, stopping him.

“Don’t think like that,” I said. “It was a drink and I loved what happened here. Don’t turn it into something negative. Please.”

Holding my breath, I waited for his response. After a moment, his shoulders sagged and he gave me a brisk nod.

  “Okay.”

I released my breath and grinned. “I may have told Davies I didn’t want a repeat, but that was fucking hot.”

Venni and Elliot chuckled as I released the ward and we came out of the alley.

“So what’s the clue?” I asked, remembering that I passed the paper off to him.

Elliot pulled it out and read it. “What five-letter Irish surname can be spelled with just two letters?”

“That’s kind of boring,” I said and pursed my lips.

“Do you know the answer?” Davies asked.

I shook my head. “Not at all.”

Davies snorted as he grabbed the paper and read it. He frowned.

“Well, what bars around here have a name attached to it?” Elliot asked.

Venni pulled out his phone and typed something into it. A moment later he asked, “JJ’s?”

“That isn’t an Irish surname, is it?” I asked.

“No, just initials,” Elliot said. “I know the owner. He isn’t even Irish.”

“Wait, what about KC?” Davies asked. “Like Casey.”

I frowned. “Not much of an Irish name, is it?”

“It’s from O’Cathasaigh,” Venni said thoughtfully. “Let’s go there. It’s only three blocks away.”

To get to Casey’s we had to pass the first bar. Three necromancers stepped out, laughing. “Fuck man, did you see that. He almost ate the fucker,” a scrawny man said.

“I wish he did. The asshole deserved it.”

They laughed again as they walked passed us and disappeared around the corner. I frowned at them, curious.

“Ignore them. Probably a bar fight. There will be a few of those tonight,” Davies said. “Let’s go before we fall further behind.”

With that, we took off at a light jog to the next destination and I found myself excited to find out what else was going to happen. It was still early in the day.

  3

The full name of the Irish bar was KC's Bollix. It was larger and nicer than the first bar and owned by a man named Casey. There were still plenty of people inside, trying to complete their next challenge. I couldn't really say what the challenge was, since everyone was doing something different. There were people drinking out of kegs with their feet up in the air. Others were shooting small balls into cups and where the ball landed was the one they had to drink.

Before we had a chance to push our way to the bar, a tall, lean man with pointed ears and slitted green eyes stepped in front of us, holding out a black top hat.

"Choose your challenge," he dared in an alluring singsong voice.

The guys nudged me forward. "Chicken shits," I teased.

Davies laughed and the other two grinned. I turned back to the man and tried to look into the hat, but he moved it so I couldn't see.

  "Choose your challenge," he said.

"I'm not going get my hand bitten off am I?" I asked, needing to be sure. "Or reaching into a wormhole into a different dimension."

The man was trying hard not to smile, but he lost. "No, ma'am, just a random drawing of your challenge." He glanced around to hint at the reason why someone was hanging upside down from the ceiling. As if that answered my question.

Resigning myself to losing my hand, I reached into the hat. Cool air brushed against my skin until I touched paper and pulled it out. A small brown paper was in my hand. I unfolded it and read it out loud. "Looks like we're playing Match 'Em," I said. "Any idea what that is?"

Venni and Elliot shook their heads.

"I think it's similar to the memory card game, but it'll have a drinking spin to it."

We turned our focus back onto the employee, who was smiling big. That was when I noticed he had more teeth than he should have. There were two rows of them. "Excellent choice. You'll find the dealer over there." He pointed to the corner were there was a crowd of people and a long table set up.

"Thank you," I said politely and headed over.

There was room for us to go right up to the table. Another employee, dressed in all black stepped in front of us with her hand held out. "Paper," she said.

I handed it over and she glanced at it before tucking it into her pocket. She pulled out a deck of cards and shuffled. Her hands moved fluidly as she mixed the deck. Her glowing purple eyes stayed on us
with a blank expression. Once she finished, she laid the cards onto the table and split them into four piles. She grabbed another deck and gave it a quick shuffle, and this time I could feel the brush of magic, but I had no idea what she was doing or what for.

"Game is easy. There's one card in the deck with the clues to the next destination. You just need to make it to that card. One card in each round will match my card." She motioned to her deck and the four before us. "The other three don't. Through round robin, starting with the female, choose a pile and grab the card on top. One everyone chooses, you'll reveal your cards together. Winner matches mine and doesn't need to do anything. The other three need to follow the directions of the card. Understand?"

  I nodded. Simple enough.

  The others responded their affirmative.

The woman nodded, grabbed the top card of her pile, and flipped it open. It was a silhouette of a phoenix. I eyed the piles and picked the furthest one to the left. Once everyone chose a card, the dealer counted down and we flipped our cards over. Elliot was safe.

Mine was a picture of a shot glass with fire shooting out of it. Davies had an image of someone lying on the counter with a shot on their stomach, and Venni had an image of a shot glass with something green in it.

"Female, you're first." The dealer pulled out a shot glass and quickly filled it. She took a lighter from her pocket, flicked it on, and lit the glass on fire.

When she passed it to me, I stared at it. "This isn't going to hurt, is it?" I asked.

"Fire shots are more intimidating than they really are," Davies said. "You're more likely to get your ass kicked by the strong alcohol."

I sighed and grabbed the cup. "Cheers." Wanting to get it over, I tossed it back. The liquid was hot from the fire and for a moment, I thought my throat was burning, but it quickly disappeared and even turned soothing. The alcohol hit my stomach. "Whoa, that really does punch you," I said, holding back a cough.
