LUCAS BLADE: Radical Rock Stars: Next Generation Duet Book 1 Page 16

by Jenna Galicki

While he continued to take in her beauty, she grew impatient. Her mouth slammed into his, pushing him back onto the bed. Her hands were on his shoulders, then on his chest. Her lips moved to his neck and then made a delicious descent down his body. She grabbed his shaft in her hand and stroked it a few times before her mouth engulfed him. The warm receptacle and the forceful draw had his legs tingling and his abs tightening.

She moaned softly as she sucked him, and the noises she made amplified his pleasure. Never had he been so excited, so ready to explode, after only a few moments of contact. His breaths deepened as the sensations heightened. He was overly sensitive and couldn’t control himself much longer, so he tugged on her arms to pull her up. Annoyed, she shook him off and took out her frustration by aggressively tugging on his shaft with her mouth and hands. Her animalistic display filled him with a rush of raging endorphins, causing him to take a steadying breath in order to maintain control. He clenched his jaw, contracted his muscles and fidgeted. He tried to look away, but his gaze kept returning to the beautiful sight of the redhead between his legs. Her movements and sighs were filled with vehemence and eagerness. She was clearly enjoying herself, quite possibly more than he was.

“Oh, God,” he moaned, letting his head fall back onto the pillow.

She abruptly sat back on her knees and gave him a wicked smile. “Oh, Sindy,” she corrected, just as he had done when she called out “Oh, God” the last time they were in his bed.

He popped his head up with surprise and uttered a short laugh. Not only was she talented, witty, and sexy, but she was funny too. This girl had everything he ever wanted in a woman. He leaned forward, grabbed her wrists and fell back onto the bed, pulling her on top of him.

She grunted as their bodies slapped together, and he took her face in his hands and gave her a long passionate kiss. He couldn’t get enough of her. She had become an addiction that he craved more each day.

“Condom?” she whispered against his neck.

His heart raced with anticipation as he rolled to the end of the bed and retrieved a small foil packet from the top drawer of his nightstand. She pulled it out of his hand before he had a chance to open it and took care of sliding it over his erection. It was sexy as fuck to watch her take charge.

She straddled his hips, maintaining eye contact as she lowered herself onto him. Short little gasps escaped her as she bore down on him until his length was buried inside of her. Then she threw her head back and grunted up to the ceiling. Her perky breasts jiggled as she bounced up and down. He reached up, took them in his hands and pinched her nipples between his fingers. He tugged on them as she rode him.

Her hair bounced off her shoulders and framed her face in a tousled spray of reddish brown. A hint of perspiration made her face glow, and the haze that covered her eyes was pure bliss. Her momentum was slow, almost languid, and intense. It covered his body with an erotic chill that consumed him. He took several deep panting breaths until he couldn’t take it anymore. He was done exercising self-control. He took her by the waist and changed their positions so he was on top, all without disengaging their bodies. Working his hips into a frenzy, he filled her with deep thrusts. He watched her until an orgasm made him squeeze his eyes shut while his body quaked. As he jutted his hips forward, she convulsed beneath him. He couldn’t help the smile that spread across his lips as she cried his name. Still tingling, he slowed to a stop and rested on top of her for a few moments before he moved to the pillow next to her, discarded the condom and stared at the ceiling.

Warmth spread through his chest as a contented feeling enveloped him. Lying next to Sindy felt right. Natural. Even though she tried to deny her feelings for him, her body told him how much she wanted him. Her general attitude toward him had softened, to an extent. At times. He wanted to believe that she cared about him and sometimes he felt as if she genuinely did. Although he wished they could be open about their relationship – or at least define it – he respected her stand on the issue. As long as she kept visiting his room, and his bed, he was willing to go slow and not push the issue. He turned his head to the side and gave her a crooked smile. “I knew you couldn’t stay away from me.”

He expected a snarky reply, but she just stretched her arms over her head and displayed a dreamy smile. “It’s not you. It’s this remarkable bed. It’s heaven.” She curled her arms under the pillow and scrunched it behind her neck. “That’s why I keep coming here.”

“You could sleep in it every night, if you want.”

She closed her eyes for a few seconds, the smile remaining on her lips. “Are you going to sleep in your parents’ guest bedroom?”

And there was the snarky reply he had expected. He nudged her with his elbow. “No.”

“Then I’ll stick with the couch in Tessa’s room. It’s not a giant cloud like this beauty, but it’s soft and cozy.”

“If you stayed here with me, I could teach you guitar riffs any time,” He sat up and pulled her into his lap. “Like this.” He straightened her left arm so it was parallel to the bed and pressed a chord into her forearm. “That’s an A. Do you feel it?”

She laughed a little and looked at her arm. “Yes.”

He continued to press chords into her arm, while his other hand circled her waist and his fingers strummed her belly. “A. G. F sharp. Do you feel it?”

“Yes, I feel it.” She wiggled, ticklish as his fingers ran over her stomach.

“Pay attention to my hands. Watch them. A. G. F sharp. A. G. F sharp. E. D. C sharp. E. D. C sharp. What am I playing?” It may have started out as a game, but he was seriously teaching her a song and this new method was sexy as fuck.

Her brows pinched together as she concentrated on his fingers and the chords he pressed into her forearm. She started to bob her head, and a smile of recognition appeared on her face. She sang with excitement. “Welcome to the Jungle. We got fun and games. We got everything you want. Honey, we know their names.” Giddy, she threw her had back and laughed, almost breaking Lucas’ nose with the back of her head. “Oh my God!” She swung around and grabbed his face between her palms. “I’m so sorry. Are you OK?”

Even though his ears were ringing and he was seeing spots, genuine laughter floated from his mouth as he covered his nose with his hand and checked for blood. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her to him before planting a kiss on the top of her head. “I’ll live.”

She hugged him apologetically and smiled up at him. “That was really cool.”

“Almost giving me a nose bleed?”

“I’m sorry! It was an accident.”

  He chuckled. “It’s OK.”

“I meant the way you played Guns N’ Roses on my arm was really cool.”

She had a happy smile on her face. No animosity or ambiguous feelings clouding her eyes. He loved this side of her. He also loved the competitive and combative side of her, but this was Sindy without the walls around her heart. He’d finally broken through.

She leaned up and kissed him again. “If you’re OK, I have to go. I have a bunch of songs to listen to on my new laptop.”

Reluctantly, he let her out of his embrace, and they both dressed. He walked with her into the other room and was about to hand her the laptop when a knock startled them.

  “Lucas? Can I come in?”

A smile split Lucas’ face in half at the sound of his dad’s voice, but Sindy’s eyes went wide, and she paled. She put her finger to her lips, fled to the bedroom and shut the door before Lucas had a chance to protest.

He still didn’t understand why she fought so hard to deny that they had feelings for one another. He couldn’t force her to tell people they were . . . screwing around? Maybe she hesitated because she didn’t know how to explain their relationship either. His eyes went from his closed bedroom door to the door to his suite and back again, wondering which to choose. He couldn’t force Sindy to admit that there was something going on between them when he didn’t know what it was himself. So he ope
ned the door to his suite. “Hey, Dad.”

“Can I come in and talk to you about something?”

“Sure. Come—” The expression on his father’s face cut off his words. He’d never seen such heaviness in his dad’s shoulders. The crease in his dad’s forehead and the way his mouth drooped alarmed Lucas. “What’s wrong?”

His dad let out an exasperated sigh as he walked into the room. He turned and looked at Lucas, shaking his head and holding his arms out to the side. “I tried to give you everything and pass on the things I’ve learned. I wanted to give you every advantage and all the breaks I never had.”

Lucas’ brow furrowed, still trying to figure out what had his father so upset. “I know. I appreciate everything you’ve done for me.”

“I’ll never forget the day you were born.” His father’s voice wavered and cracked. “The day you came into this world was the happiest day of my life. I cried so hard I couldn’t see. From the moment that test strip read positive, I loved you with all my heart. I tried to make the right decisions. I’m sorry if I put too much pressure on you or pushed you too hard. Please don’t hate me.”

Lucas practically recoiled at the statement while confusion swirled through his head. “I don’t hate you, Dad. Why would you say that?”

“Because I saw your face downstairs when Audra suggested Prodigy open for Immortal Angel.”

Lucas felt like the floor opened up underneath him and his heart plummeted into it. “I didn’t mean it like that.”

“I’ve been listening. I hear what you’ve been saying about why you didn’t want to sign with Falcon Records.”

  “Dad, it’s not like that.”

“You don’t have to protect my feelings, son.”

  “I’m not. It’s—”

“I have a confession to make. That night, when we got back from Falcon Records. After you declined the recording contract. I came up to your room to talk to you, and I heard you talking with Tessa and Mason.” His dad took a painful breath. “You said you were tired of always living in my shadow. Never living up to the great Tommy Blade. That everyone would expect you to be like me on stage. And that you wanted to be your own person.” His dad leaned forward and placed his hands on Lucas’ shoulders. “Of course, you’re your own person. Did I ever make you think that you weren’t good enough? I never wanted you to be exactly like me. You’re so much better than I am, Lucas.”

Lucas felt as if a cannon ball hit him in the gut. He never wanted to hurt his father. He had nothing but love and respect for the man. “I’m proud to be like you, Dad. You made me who I am. It’s all because of you. You’ve given me everything, not just monetary gifts. You’ve given me your time and love.”

“You have no idea how proud I am of you, Lucas. I want you to know that you’ve exceeded my hopes and dreams. My father pushed me hard. Too hard. And I tried not to make that same mistake with you. You see, I was never good enough for my father, and I don’t ever want you to feel that way. Growing up, my brother, your Uncle Robert, was a rising football star while I was just chasing a dream. Robert went on to play pro football, and I know that means more to my father than me being an international rock star. I know what it feels like to live in someone’s shadow. Even though Robert was my kid brother and he looked up to me, I always struggled to get recognized for my accomplishments in my father’s eyes.” He swallowed and grimaced, water clouding his bright blue eyes, looking sadder than he did when he first entered the room. “I don’t want you to go through life feeling the same way. Not for one second. You inherited my talent, but you outshine me.”

Emotion made Lucas’ mouth quiver. He swallowed and tried to steady his voice. “I don’t outshine you, Dad. You’re an icon in the industry. A pioneer. A trendsetter. You defined a whole new genre of music. I aspire to be like you.”

A tiny smile appeared on his dad’s face. “Thank you. But I never played the way you do at your age. You were covering Metallica at two and writing music at five. You know more today than I did at your age. I want you to know I’m gonna back off. I’m not going to tell you what to do. It’s all on you. If you want my advice, I’m always here for you. For your sister. For Mason. Even if Sindy needs anything, I’m here. But BGW Records is your business. Your venture.”

“I want your advice,” Lucas pleaded. “I value your advice. I need it.” Lucas had been an idiot in the past for getting pissed off that he was always being compared to Tommy Blade. It was an honor. He needed to make his father understand how proud he was to be the man’s son. “What if we come on stage and play together? Like old times.”

  “What do you mean?”

“You’re doing a show at Madison Square Garden next week, right?”

  “Yeah.”

“How about I come on stage and we play a song together? And then Prodigy can play a song.”

“Are you sure that’s what you want to do?” A blond brow quirked skeptically at Lucas. “Don’t say that just to make your old man happy.”

“I’m not. This is different. We wouldn’t be opening for Immortal Angel. We’d come out as a surprise guest. Give the audience a little taste of Prodigy. But first, me and you will play together.”

His father smiled, light returning to his eyes. “I’d love that. The happiest times of my life have been when you shared the stage with me. You and Tessa.” A tear glistened in the corner of his father’s eye. “You made your dad a happy man again. I came in here feeling like shit, and now I’m on top of the world. I love you, Lucas.”

  “I love you too, Dad.”

They shared a big bear hug, and then his dad left. Lucas felt as if he was about to collapse. He wiped his hands over his face and exhaled loudly. He forgot his dad was such a sensitive guy, and he felt inconsiderate and cold-hearted for not being more mindful. He also forgot Sindy was in the next room until his bedroom door opened.

The corners of her mouth were pulled downward, and tears streamed down her cheeks while her hands clutched her chest. “That was so beautiful. He loves you so much. And you were so sweet to him.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and presented a teary-eyed smile. “You’re a good person. With a good heart. I’m totally enamored by you, Lucas Blade. No wonder I care about you so much.”

Finally, she admitted she cared! Lucas’ chest ballooned, and his cheeks pulled back to display a huge smile. He lifted her off the floor and kissed her.

When he set her down, she pushed away from him, her eyes as wide as saucers. “Did I just hear you make plans for Prodigy to play a show with Immortal Angel next week?”

He loved when she got so worked up and excited by things he took for granted. “Not a show. Usually my Dad calls me on stage. I play with him. Tessa sings with my papi. And then Mason comes on and does a dueling drum bit with Jimmy which will blow your fucking head off, by the way. That’s something you’re not going to believe until you see it.”

She blinked rapidly as she took in everything he was saying. Then her mouth clamped shut for a second. “What about me?”

She thought she was being left out, and it was adorable. The appearance with Immortal Angel wasn’t just because of how much he knew it meant to his dad, it meant a lot to him, too. But it was also to introduce Sindy to the audience. “After my dad calls me on stage, I’ll call you on stage and the three of us can play together. Then we’ll play our first song for an audience.”

“Oh my God, Lucas, this is so wonderful! I need to practice more so I’m ready.” She picked up the laptop and clutched it to her chest. “I’m going to listen to all the songs, like you said, and practice. Thank you!”

She kissed him hard and every part of his body tingled. He loved seeing her so excited. “Call me if you need me.”

Sindy started down the hall to Tessa’s suite, but her rumbling tummy reminded her that she hadn’t eaten all day. Going out to get something to eat would take too much time and ordering in seemed rude. She blew the hair off her forehead and decided she needed to work up the nerve to get
something from the kitchen. She knew that no one minded, not in this household where gourmet meals and snacks were offered at every opportunity, but Sindy felt as if she was overstepping a boundary.

Luckily, she didn’t run into anyone on the way downstairs and the kitchen was empty. The refrigerator contained so much food, no one would probably notice that she ate something. The first container she opened housed chicken and rice. She made a small plate, nuked it in the microwave, and ate it quickly. As she washed the dish in the sink, she gazed out the large window that faced the back of the house and saw Tommy Blade, Jessi Blade, and Angel Garcia sitting by the enormous guitar-shaped pool. She’d only seen the pool a few times, and the grandeur of it was almost too much to take in. Her gaze drifted to Angel, Tommy and Jessi, and the pool took a back seat to greatness. Watching the three of them together was mesmerizing. Never had Sindy seen three people exude such sensuality.

Tommy sat in a chaise lounge with Jessi and Angel on either side of him. They looked as if they were comforting him, and Sindy wondered if he was still upset or simply relaying the conversation he had with Lucas upstairs. She had no idea the man had such a sensitive heart, and she knew that Lucas shared the incredible caliber of this man.

Laughter from the trio at the pool made Sindy smile. Tommy had his arms around Jessi, and he was tickling her waist, which made her flail in his arms. He suddenly picked her up, as if she was as light as a feather, causing the muscles in his shoulders and across his back to flex and broaden. He ran toward the pool and jumped in with Jessi still in his arms.

“Hey. I see Lucas gave you the laptop.” Mason’s voice startled Sindy, and she turned away from the window. Mason was standing at the center island wiping his face with a hand towel.

“I didn’t know you were still here.”

“I was in the studio working on some beats. Sometimes inspiration hits me and I gotta lay down tracks. I barely made it to my car before I had to come back inside and play. What’s Tessa up to?”
