I sit up to pull her shirt off and just as the hem across the bottom reaches her perfect breasts we both jump from a loud noise erupting outside. Bruno rushes out the hallway past us and to the front door. He begins barking loudly and the hair on the scruff of his neck is standing on end.
“What was that?” Brooke whispers in a panic, climbing off of my lap. My eyes narrow and I watch toward the front door where we heard the noise. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest and I’m not sure if it's from having Brooke’s pussy rubbing against me thirty seconds ago or from the adrenaline that’s now coursing through my veins. Probably both.
“I don’t know. Stay here,” I tell her as I stand from the couch. Brooke takes hold of my hand and pulls me back to her.
“No, Conner don’t! Don’t leave me.” I turn back to face her and see the panic in her eyes. I bend down so we are nose to nose. I gently rub my thumb across her cheek then pull her into a quick but deep kiss.
“I’ll be right back.” I whisper slowly. I turn away from her again and move toward the front of the house to look out the window. Before I can make it there I’m stopped in my tracks by glass shattering in on me. I instinctively cover my head with my arm and turn away from the glass. Looking at the ground I see a brick on the floor beside me. Mother fucker. I start toward the front door but just as I do hear DING! DING! DING! My fire pager is going off.
I stop and turn back to Brooke. She’s already got her phone out and is calling the Chief.
“Hey Chief. Where is it?” I hear murmuring on the other end of the phone but can’t make out what he’s saying.
“Are you sure?” More murmuring on the other end.
“Okay. Yeah. I’m with Conner now,” she says over the phone and lowers her head. Is she embarrassed to tell him she’s with me?
“We’ll be there as soon as we can.” She hangs up the phone and starts back the hallway to my bedroom. I follow her to my room and she begins changing her clothes quickly.
“We have to go. It’s Micky’s.” Her tone is low and serious. She’s looking back at me and based on her expression we’re thinking the same thing. This can’t be a coincidence.

About the Author
Nadine is a sloppy romantic at heart. She loves to curl up on her front porch swing in the mornings with her extra large cup of coffee and lose herself in a blissfully, butterfly-filled, pure romance story. However, her guilty pleasures are found within the pages of the steamy romances with sexy alpha’s that ignite temptation, desire, and lust.
As much as she enjoys reading romances, she enjoys writing them even more. She thrives on the opportunity to give her readers the chance to escape into the chiseled arms of their latest book boyfriend and leave them fantasizing days later.
She has been punching keys for years and now that she has built up a collection of heartthrobs, she is ready to finally share them with the world.
