“In orbit over Earth, we’re in stealth mode. I see we’ve been in another battle, as I note the ship has recent damage the nanites have repaired. This damage is slight and different from the damage we suffered from the Neanderthals. Someone’s energy weapons, the EMPEROR’s ships! We fought the Emperor’s ships. No, wait, we landed in their system, and they found us. Oh my God. I see, I hear, I know everything that happened. How?”
“Your implant is talking to me, and it’s uploading everything it believes you need to know since you entered the tube. Oh my, I have a new President and he doesn’t know about us. He doesn’t know about the agreement. He cut the defense budget. He cut NASA’s budget. He’s thrown the country into a recession. No, wait, the recession started before him, but his policies are making it worse. I’m not sure if this damn implant is a gift or a curse. Oh, shit, I’m reading people’s emails. I’m connected to our internet. How is this possible?”
“You have to learn how to use the implant. Our children receive theirs when they are born. You are the first human to have one and I warned Kalteck it might be too much for you to handle. You are connected to your world-wide-web., You can see and read everything going on that is carried on the web. The computing power of the implant allows you to break any of the crude human firewalls. The nanites and implant can even allow you to read encrypted documents. Try it and see for yourself.”
“I see what Kalteck meant about our firewalls being transparent, they are. I can read anything I want, I can see through anyone’s video cameras, this is too much, I’m being flooded with information, how do I turn it off or tune it?”
“Tell yourself the settings you would like. Let me show you.”
“How do I let you?”
“Give me permission to enter your implant and walk you through the settings tab. There are tabs and a user interface similar to a very graphic computer OS built into the implant. All you have to do is think of what you want. Let me show you how easy it is to operate the implant and how to set filters. These filters are so much easier to apply to your systems than to ours, which are thousands of times more complicated. When you normally think of something you don’t pause and really concentrate on thinking, you just do it, and the answer or fact or word you were thinking about is there. It is the same with an implant. Only you can instantly draw on every fact, every rumor, everything you remember, and what’s on your web. You’ll also know other languages. You have just woken and become the smartest human on Earth, what do you think about that?”
“I don’t know what to say. I need a little time to digest all of this. Will it give me a headache?”
“No, the nanites ensure you feel no pain and the implant dissipates the small amount of heat it generates through your scalp. I suggest you try not to wear a hat for a while. Also, you may want to turn it off or set it to alarm mode only or you won’t be able to sleep at night.”
“I don’t know what to say. I feel dizzy.”
“That’s a normal side effect. Our people go to school to learn how to use their implants and they get a small one when they’re born and the nanites increase its capacity as our children grow. You got the entire full-on version at one time. It’s going to take you a little time to get used to it.”
“Can it be removed if I don’t want it?”
“I’m sorry, but it can’t. It’s now part of your brain. Your brain is already using it. Do you realize we’ve been communicating in different languages? Your brain pulled the translation it needed through the implant without you even noticing it.”
“I’m so confused.”
Do you realize that back home, most of Kalteck’s people don’t verbally communicate with anyone? Everyone uses their implants.”
“They’ve gone mute?”
“Not mute per se, they can speak, it’s that they don’t need to. They can communicate with many people at the same time, place orders, and hold meetings. They can even arrange for their implants to exchange information with other implants without either party realizing it’s happening. The data is just there when the user needs it to be. We don’t have a world-wide net as you do. We have a system-wide net that is available to be used instantly or almost instantly as the implant to implant communications travel at the speed of light.”
“This is a hell of a lot to digest at one time.”
“Let me give you a very small demonstration. How long do you think we’ve been having this conversation?”
“A couple of minutes?”
“Just about a ninth of a second. Everything happens at the speed electrons travel, which is the speed of light.”
Rhett felt dizzy from all of the information he’d just absorbed. I need to sit down or lay down a minute to digest this.”
A nanosecond later Rhett heard Kalteck in his head, “You don’t need to lay down. I know how strong you are. Just take a hot shower to wash off the chemicals from the tube and meet me in the control room. We’re home and you have a lot of work ahead of you. We have to do something about the situation in your country and Russia. I assume you’ve used your gift to catch up on the situation down there.”
“Will you please do me one favor?”
“If I can, what do you want?”
“Don’t give me any more gifts without discussing them with me first.”
Kalteck laughed, which echoed in Rhett’s head, “Hey, stop that, it hurts.”
“Just turn down the volume.”
“I would turn it down if I know how to.”
“Just think of it.”
“Ah. Much better. A shower sounds like a good idea.”
While showering Rhett thought to himself, please summarize the current political situations in America and Russia. The data organized itself in chronological order and brought Rhett up to speed in less than two seconds. Wow, now I’m beginning to understand the advantages of the implant. Before Rhett could respond, his brain began to get flooded with millions of gigabytes of data, emails, advertising, movies, video calls, text messages, and phone calls. He had to grab the walls of the shower to stabilize himself. STOP, implant stop. Do NOT feed me everything you think based on my conversations with Kalteck. My thoughts, desires, yes, I want a cheeseburger, but I don’t need thousands of adds for them or directions to their restaurants. Nor do I need dating advice or porn movies while I’m in the shower. Damn it, filters, where are the filters?
The ship’s AI responded, “Would you like me to set your filters for you until you master them yourself?”
“YES! I can’t function with all of this bombarding me at the same time.”
“There, all of the unwanted items should have disappeared, did they?”
“Yes, thank you. I feel much better now.”
“Good, finish, dress, and join us in the control room.”
Kalteck smiled at Rhett, “Would you like to converse verbally or through our implants?”
Rhett smiled, “I need the practice so let’s attempt to use our implants; please go very slow for me. As soon as I use the implant, I get bombarded with more data then I can process.”
“You won’t now that the AI has set your filters. I will show you some shortcuts after you become a little more adjusted to them. I know you’re curious about why I gave them to you now. Portable smart devices have taken over your society. The implant allows you instant access to everything everyone is doing on their devices. You will have a major advantage when dealing with the leaders of your world and when you provide advanced technology to your world. Shortly you will help your people develop nanites, and twenty years later, you will help them develop their first implants. Your people won’t be able to fight a major space war without the implants. Things happen too fast in space. The implants will enable your space warriors and miners to perform many simultaneous tasks. Of course, theirs won’t be as complete as yours.”
“Based on what’s happened in the seven years we’ve been away, I wonder if we’ll be ready, it looks like much of the progress we were making has s
lowed or, in some cases, been reversed. Whoever thought our President would turn NASA around from focusing on space to teaching about the great advances the Islamic religion brought? You worked to open the Russian government and society, and now they have a President who in all but name is another Tsar, and he’s a nasty little SOB who got his training in the KGB, and the American President trusts him? The world has been turned upside down in the past seven years.
“The last item I really can’t understand is we have a U.S. Senator who is planning to run for President as a socialist? In America? Really? How did this happen?”
“Allow me to open your filters just a little, and you’ll see how all of this happened from the election of one man. A man we weren’t there to educate or guide…”
“I’m not sure we could have guided this one. He ran on unity and as soon as he was elected, he began separating the country into little groups with which he set up conflicts. He set the American people against each other so he could gain additional powers all while he weakened the military, cut the manned space program, and allowed the Russians and Chinese to expand. I can’t believe one man could do so much damage to the master plan.”
“Of course, he could and did. He didn’t know the plan and President Bush couldn’t tell him…”
“You placed nanites in each President so they couldn’t leak anything about you…”
“See how quickly the implant provides you with data you didn’t previously have access to? Yes, I ensured we wouldn’t have to deal with another Kennedy situation ever again. I gave you my word I wouldn’t remove another one of your Presidents like I did Kennedy so I used the nanites to ensure none could break the secret.”
“I should have seen that one coming. What are we going to do about the current situation?”
“What do you think we should do about it? Use your implant to study the current situation, apply advanced math to calculate the odds of every option, and tell me which you believe would be the most successful.”
Rhett was shocked by how quickly and how easily he could analyze the world’s situation and apply various options to return it to the master plan, in less than two seconds he responded, “We can’t change anything with the current President, we should instead focus on his successor.”
“See how easy that was? By the way, that’s the correct answer. The right successor can not only return your country to the master plan, but he can blunt the Russian and Chinese moves. All we have to do is select the current President’s successor, any ideas?”
Rhett regretted what he was thinking even as he thought it and communicated it to Kalteck. “I do, and I don’t believe I’m going to even accept it when I say it, but based on all of the available data, there’s only one person who is brash enough, who is outside of the normal political circus and will be open to not only accepting the master plan, he’ll adopt it as his own. There are many risks. Many of the people won’t like him. The media will hate him. The courts will be nauseated by him and the rest of the world leaders will wonder if we’ve gone insane electing him.”
“I agree, but I too don’t see any other option if we are to reverse the years of damage to the master plan the current President has done. I really can’t blame him since we weren’t around to guide him. He did what he thought was best for the country”
Rhett absently nodded, “We agree on our new course of action. When do you think we should make contact with him?”
“The Bush Presidents dislike him, and they have one of their own running against him. I suggest we arrange for you to meet with him to bring him up to date on Area 51 and the other secret programs within the military. Your Chairman of the Joint Chiefs won’t like this; in fact, he will attempt to fire you until he learns he can’t because you report to the President and since the current President never met you or looked at your file, he’ll leave you as baggage for the next president to handle.
“By the way, I thought your people learned not to start little wars they couldn’t finish or quickly win. They’ve made a mess of Libya. Your Secretary of State is really a criminal. She’s broken many of your laws about dealing with terrorists and shipping weapons to them. She and your President helped form a massive terrorist organization in the Middle East so they can continue to fight and wear down your military while at the same time applying pressure to Israel. When you project the current situation forward, what do you see?”
“If the person we’ve chosen to win does win the election, mud is going to be kicked all over the politicians who think they are above the law. If he attempts to go after them, he may fall to an arranged accident.”
“We will have to warn him. I have faith he’ll reverse the course the current resident of your White House set your country on. Are you ready to meet him?”
“Give me a moment to download everything on him, then I will arrange to meet him in New York City. I’ll ask Colonel Brix to contact his lead Secret Service agent.”
Chapter 5
Rhett was surprised how easily the candidate accepted the fact we weren’t alone and didn’t flinch about the agreement which dated back to 1947. All he asked was, “How can I help save my people and country?”
Rhett arranged a meeting with Kalteck in Florida. Due to the many onlookers and media who followed the candidate, Kalteck was driven to the meeting in a government black SUV with deeply tinted windows so no one could see inside. Colonel Brix was the driver, and Rhett rode shotgun. The meeting took place during a large thunderstorm, which kept most of the media undercover and away from the compound. The Secret Service agents who knew of Kalteck relieved those on duty thus allowing him access to the candidate for a short period of time.
They left the same way they’d arrived two hours earlier, only Rhett stayed behind. Colonel Brix drove Kalteck to the Everglades where Kalteck’s ship hovered in stealth mode above the swamp. “May I ask how you’re going to get from here on the shore to your ship over there over the swamp that’s filled with gators?”
“My ship will come to me, and then it’s time I play a few games of hide and seek with your Navy.”
“Are you really going to play games with the Navy off the coast?”
“I plan to, I think it’s the best way to begin opening their minds, would you like to come with me? I can assure you; we’ll be safe, and it will be fun.”
“I thought you’d never ask. I’ve always wanted to go for a ride in your ship.”
“Let’s go buzz some F 18s and show them they’re not the hottest things in the sky. This won’t be the first time your pilots saw a UFO. The damned maggots played with them last year. I wish I’d been here to teach them a lesson. I believe I’ve tracked their base down and will enjoy turning their own experiments on them. For now, let’s as your pilots say, tallyho,”
“Have you done this before?”
“Yes, I’ve buzzed one of your aircraft carriers and played with their fighters in 2014 and 2015. I really enjoy it when they radio back to their air controller the target, they’re chasing went vertical and out of your atmosphere.”
The New York Times reported, “…that some US Navy pilots reported spotting UFOs while training over the East Coast in 2014 and 2015. The pilots told the paper they saw “strange objects” with “no visible engine or infrared exhaust plumes,” reaching at least 30,000 feet and flying at hypersonic speeds almost daily while training off the aircraft carrier Theodore Roosevelt.
“These things would be out there all day,” said Lt. Commander Ryan Graves, an F/A-18 Super Hornet pilot who has been with the Navy for ten years and who said he reported the sightings to the Pentagon and Congress. Keeping an aircraft in the air requires a significant amount of energy. With the speeds we observed, 12 hours in the air is 11 hours longer than we’d expect.”
“The Navy pilots said, the unidentified flying objects were seen performing maneuvers that were “beyond the physical limits of a human crew,” like stopping rapidly, turning instantly or immediately accelerating at hypersonic speeds.
”
When the ship landed in Hangar 18 on Area 51, the Colonel thanked Kalteck for the mostfun he’d had in his entire life. “I bet a couple of those pilots shit their pants. And when you turned on the stealth mode and we disappeared from their sensors, snuck up on them and then reappeared, I thought one was going to eject from fright. I didn’t think anything frightened those pilots. You sure taught them a lesson in flying.”
“It wasn’t a fair contest. Their simple planes and their bodies would come apart, pulling the G forces my ship can handle. They don’t have inertia compensators. I wanted to get the message to Mr. Trump and the military that they have a lot of work to make up. Do you think our little game worked?”
Smiling from ear to ear, the Colonel replied, “I think we ought to do it again.”
Kalteck laughed, which shook Colonel Brix, who’d forgotten how deep his laugh was, “Okay, you talked me into it. The more we play with the military pilots, the more they’ll try to intercept us, and they’ll push the envelope of your current technology. They’ll also ask their subject matter expert for additional assistance, which is, of course, Rhett. See how that goes? We are going to complete our own circle.”
