Finally, her father started forward. “You have many friends, Sasha. You’re a very lucky woman.”
She didn’t understand why he’d made that statement until they walked into the sanctuary and she saw every pew filled with friends and neighbors from PSI and Otter Creek.
At the front of the church, Cade, Matt, and Marcus, dressed in tuxes, waited for her to approach. Good grief. Cade was drop-dead gorgeous. As she walked toward him, Cade’s eyes widened. She winked at him causing him to smile, the joy in his eyes a reflection of the emotion in her heart.
In his eyes, she saw a future filled with laughter and love, family. She put aside the hurt over Dean’s betrayal and concentrated on the man she adored.
When she reached his side, Cade captured her face between his palms and kissed her. “You look beautiful, Sassy,” he murmured.
“All right now,” Marcus said, amusement in his voice. “You’re getting ahead of the program, Cade.”
Their friends and family burst into laughter.
Ten minutes later, she and Cade placed wedding bands on each other’s fingers.
When they faced Marcus again, he said, “I’m happy to pronounce you husband and wife. Cade, you may kiss your wife.”
Cade wrapped his arms around Sasha and drew her close. “I love you, Sasha Ramsey. Thank you for trusting me with your heart.” He bent his head and kissed her as applause filled the church.
This, Sasha thought, was love. A husband who treasured her as much as she did him. They would face challenges in the days to come. Every challenge gave them a chance to deepen their love and commitment to each other. She couldn’t wait to see what the future held for them.
