"Come on, I said I was sorry. Nothing actually happened, you shouldn't be mad anymore." He couldn't believe her audacity and realized she had never been on his side. Every time he tried to trust someone; it was always a mistake. Deja was very transparent in what she wanted, but he hadn't figured out Lux yet. Thankfully, none of the other women in the camp were nearly as aggressive as those two.

Bash knew he shouldn't say anything, but Lux continued to push them until he did. "There's nothing new to say Lux. I said everything I need to say."

"You know your life would be much easier if you just did what you were supposed to, right? It would be so simple. Just have a little sex here and there, then you would be treated better. By not having babies with us you're being very selfish. You're denying your destiny, and the destiny of the children who could right the wrongs of this world."

Bash shook his head in frustration. "You're just like everyone else. I can't believe I trusted you."

Pain burned throughout his body. He knew he should've kept his mouth shut. Every time he said something Lux didn't like, she shocked him. Thankful the power level was relatively low, it still packed a punch. Bash took a moment to regain his breath before he straightened himself on the couch. She moved from the doorway of the extra bedroom where she'd been staying and sat near him on the couch.

"What is wrong with me that you reject me so? I've been here for you and you can't do one little thing for me?"

"Why does the fact I don't want this not factor into it? Real friends do things for you because they want to help you, not because they want something from you."

He tensed expecting another shock, but it never came. Instead Lux got up from the couch and went to the kitchen. Noises of her rummaging around and the faucet turning on traveled to him. When water hit metal, he assumed she was making tea. She did that a lot. He didn't even like tea, but it was an easy way to let her win. Even though she was still in the cabin, he took a moment to enjoy being alone in the room because when Lux returned it would be a fight.

He was really close to being able to disable the collar, but he could only work on it when he was alone which didn't happen often. One of the tech manuals at the safe house had some information he was using to disable it. Now he was thankful he'd read all of those books.

Lux returned with two cups of tea. He took a sip and paused, "What kind of tea is this? I don't think I've ever had it before."

"It's something new I found in the market yesterday, I thought you might like it. Supposed to be really good for you." It might be, but it tasted awful. So bad, he drank it as fast as he could.

Lux giggled, "You must really like it if you drank it that fast. It barely even had time to cool off."

"It's delicious." He got off the couch and went into his room to change his clothes, grabbing old pair of pants and a shirt that had a couple of holes in it. No one had been taking care of his garden while he'd been gone, so there was a lot of work to do to get it looking nice again. Some plants had grown tall and wild, while others wilted and died. When he bent over to put his boots on he noticed something strange. There was a tightness in his pants. He straightened up and looked down. Sure enough, he had the beginning of an erection. Which was really strange because he was the opposite of turned on right now. He waited a little longer and watched it become a full on hard on. Unsure of what was going on he went in and confronted Lux.

"What kind of tea did you say that was?"

  "I didn't."

A cold chill went down his spine, she was up to something. "Lux what did you do?"

"I brought you a new tea I thought you would like." Lux stood up and walked towards him. "Looking at you right now, it would appear as if you did enjoy the tea."

"I'm serious, what kind of tea was it?" He wasn't in the mood for her games and wordplay.

"Deja said this tea would help with your issues."

"My issue is I don't want to have sex with you, not that I can't get it up." This was just like Lux to try to control the situation. He tried thinking about the worst things he could come up with and it did nothing to relieve the pressure. Pinching himself, he hoped the pain would snap him out of it, but it didn't do anything.

"It's a very potent tea. You're going to be hard for at least an hour, if not several. As far as I know there's only one way to get it out of your system." She continued towards him even though he backed away.

He would do everything he could think of to get out of this. Before he could react, she pressed her hands against his chest and threw him back onto the bed.

Lux ripped his pants off and when he fought back, she pressed the button on the remote. He cursed then convulsed the entire time she carefully finished removing his pants. When she released the button, he was somehow still hard. His head swam as his body began to feel very heavy.

"What I didn't tell you, my dear Bash, was that I mixed the tea with a sedative. Not only do you have an erection that will last hours, the sedative will keep you asleep the whole time. Now you can't refuse." Lux stripped her clothing off and climbed onto the bed. In the seconds before he passed out, he decided to do something drastic. He reached up and grabbed the collar. With all the strength he could muster, he pulled on it until the alarm went off and electricity zapped him into unconsciousness.

  Chapter 8

  Hiro Camp: Freya

Freya slipped through the door silently. As an afterthought, she reached up to turn the camera on her shoulder off. What this Lux lady was doing wasn't right. Fury coursed through her as she walked in on Bash's still spasming body. The bitch didn't even bother to turn the device off, she just watched him as he was electrocuted continuously. While uncloaking but not making presence known to Lux, Freya spun the chamber on her Reaper and shot Lux. She rushed over to Bash to figure out how to stop the electricity that still shocked him. Freya tried ripping and pulling at the collar, but all it did was shock her too. Frantic, she looked around the room for anything helpful. She saw a small black box near Lux and remembered the few words she'd heard from Lux's mind. It was the remote for Bash's collar. She picked it up and pressed buttons until his body stilled. After finding his pulse, she let out a sigh of relief. Now she had to wake him up because she couldn't carry him out of here.

Retrieving the pack she'd dropped by the door, Freya thought about what to do with Lux's body. She should've killed her, but she tried to not kill people unless she had to. Freya found a set of restraints in her bag and put them on Lux. Next, she used the bio-scanner on Bash. After the diagnostic scan, she read the results and got to work on giving him the antidote. Well, at least for the sedative. Unfortunately, the tea she couldn't counteract because while the scanner had singled out the main compounds, it couldn't identify them.

While waiting for the drugs to take effect, she looked around the cabin. If this was the cabin he lived in, he'd been right. They did make an effort to keep him away from technology. This was the most low-tech building she'd seen in the whole camp. Oddly enough though, several of the other buildings had quite a bit of tech, and it made her wonder about the radiation he referred to. If they were worried about electromagnetic radiation, then his cabin should've been further away, like a kilometer or two. She pulled out her device and did a scan. There was more radiation than she was expecting inside the cabin. It was typical electromagnetic waves but based on what Bash said it should've been lower. Then she made a startling discovery. There was something else in this cabin aside from his collar that was transmitting. Cursing, she realized there were cameras throughout his cabin and used her telekinesis to rip the feed cords. She returned to Bash with the bio-scanner and set it to give him a jolt of adrenaline to wake him up. They had to get out of here and she hoped no one had realized she was here yet.

Bash sat straight up from the bed and took in a deep breath of air. Knowing he was still disoriented and confused about what was going on, Freya tried to catch him up.

"I know you have a lot of questions for me right now, but we don't have tim
e for it. We need to get out of here." She grabbed his wrist and helped him off the bed, then remembered he didn't have any pants on. "Get dressed. We have to get out of here."

She could tell by the look on his face he still had questions about what was going on, but he grabbed his shirt from the floor and put it on instead. Freya watched him take a few painful steps before he returned to the closet. This time he pulled out a pair of loose shorts. Now that he was dressed, they could leave. When Freya approached the front door to, Bash stopped her.

"I can't leave the camp." He pointed to the collar that was still around his neck, "This will electrocute me if I get too close to the perimeter."

Freya silently cursed as the situation got more complicated. Aside from the collar, she could also hear several women's thoughts outside. It appeared they were monitoring the cameras after all.

"So how do we get it off?"

"Haven't figured that part out yet. I have a couple of theories but I haven't had time to try them out." Bash reached up but stopped before he touched the collar. "It shocks me every time I touch it and they don't leave me alone long enough to really try any of my theories. Don't you have anything on the scanner that could help?"

"I don't know, I've never tried to disable a prisoner collar. Is it synced with the cloaking barrier or something else?"

He shook his head. "I don't know, they're not giving me a lot of information. Maybe the remote that controls it will have a way to turn it off?"

Unsure of the device Freya retrieved it from her pocket and handed it over to Bash. "I don't know anything about. Maybe you can do something with it?"

He looked it over and then ran out of the room. Curious, Freya followed him into the kitchen. With a small knife in his hand, he looked like he was trying to take the remote apart. There was a crack and a piece of plastic shot across the room. He quickly touched a few of the elements then use the knife to make a couple of cuts.

  "Wish me luck."

Before Freya could react, he reached up and yanked on the collar. Then he dropped to the floor and spasmed. Unlike last time, the collar stopped shocking him on its own. With a deep breath, he stood up and shook himself. Then he made a few adjustments to the remote. When he reached for the collar again, she stopped him.

"Don't do that just yet we've got company." She retrieved her pack and peeked through the window. Visually she counted three women, but she heard five with her telepathy. Squatting down, she closed her eyes and focused on locating the other two women. It only took a moment before her telepathy located them outside the house.

She turned to him. "You know how to fight?"

"I've read books about fighting, does that count?"

Freya rolled her eyes; this should be interesting. She searched the kitchen and located two more knives. It was daylight outside so she couldn't move under the cover of darkness. Slowly she opened the door while staying hidden behind the wall. With a burst of adrenaline, Freya ran through the doorway throwing the knives to take out two of the women. She used her telekinesis to immobilize the third woman. Grabbing her Reaper, she shot the bleeding women. Then she shot the third woman and relaxed her powers.

She flattened herself against the wall and relocated the fourth woman. The fighter was hidden behind a tree, and waited for Freya to come around the side of the house. Not wanting to disappoint her, Freya boldly stepped around the corner and called out to her.

"There's no need for all of this. We can talk this out."

In response the woman fired at her. She threw her telekinetic powers in front of her to form a shield. There was a burst of light as the fire splattered against the shield and dissipated. Three more bursts of rapid fire splattered against her shield.

"Come on, let's fight this out like real women."

A tall red headed woman appeared from behind the tree and charged her. Freya laughed as the shield dissipated. As the redheaded woman got closer, Freya used her powers to grab one of her feet. There was a groan as the woman hit the ground hard. Callously, Freya pulled out her blaster and shot the woman point-blank.

"I don't have time for you bitch. If you had the chance, you'd hurt Bash. I can't let that happen." She returned to the house to check on him. Then she'd be able to take care of the last woman.

  Hiro Camp: Bash

Bash still couldn't believe Freya had come after him. When he'd woken up and saw Freya in his cabin, he thought it had been a dream. Now she was outside fighting for him. He truly wanted to believe she was helping him for altruistic reasons, but he knew better than to trust the motives of a woman. More than likely, she wanted him for the same reason every woman wanted him but at the moment he didn't really care. Right now he'd give anything just to get rid of his erection. It was painful. He looked up to see Freya walking through the door. She was beautiful, and he wanted nothing more than to make love to her all night. Reaching down, he adjusted himself but it didn't help. It seemed like nothing would get rid of this.

"You still okay in here?" Her cheeks weren't even flushed. If it wasn't for the sounds he'd heard outside, he wouldn't of been able to tell she'd been fighting.

"I'm pretty sure I have brain damage from being electrocuted so many times, but I think I almost figured it out." Bash resumed tinkering with the remote. "How is it going out there?"

When Freya didn't respond he looked back up. Her eyes were tightly shut and blood started to pour out of her nose.

"Freya? Are you okay?" Concern grew as she remained motionless. He grabbed a towel and took it to her. Just as he was about to touch her, there was a shrill scream from outside. Startled, he dropped the towel and looked around.

"We have a few more minutes before more show up." Freya picked up the towel and used it to stop the bleeding.

  "What was that?"

Freya ignored the question and checked to see if the bleeding had stopped.

"Who just screamed?" Starting to freak out just a bit, he'd never heard anyone scream like that before.

"The last attacker just got a broken leg." The way she said concerned him.

"What do you mean she just got a broken leg? You don't just get a broken leg." Wait, Freya had been inside the house when the woman screamed. "How do you know, you weren't even out there?"

  "Because I broke it."

"What? How?" Bash lost his breath as the dots connected in his mind. When she'd shown him her telekinesis, he thought it was confined to moving objects, not snapping a bone in someone's body. Freya was terrifying.

"We don't have time for this, we need to go now, and that collar needs to come off."

"It's disabled. I'm pretty sure it won't shock me if I cross the border, but I don't know for sure." He pointed to the remote on the counter. "The remote is useless now."

When Bash headed to the door to leave the cabin, Freya stopped him.

"I'll lead the way." And with that she stepped out the door.

Not sure that Freya was a good choice, at least she was the better out of the two situations. As long as she didn't hand him over to the Sovereign, it couldn't be any worse than being at the camp with this collar or confined to the red room. He attempted to keep pace with Freya as she ran, but it was rather difficult. His erection kept rubbing against his shorts. It was an odd combination of pain from running.

"Are you sure there isn't a way to get rid of this?" He didn't want to delay them, but they would move much faster if he could run at a full pace.

"No, I can't identify the main compounds. Without knowing what they are, I can't do anything about it." She paused for a moment and a little grin appeared. "I mean there is something I could do to help you, but after we get back to the safe house."

Just thinking about her hands on him made it throb harder. He could kill Lux for drugging him. Well, if Freya hadn't already. There had been restraints on Lux when he woke up, which made him think she was stunned. He didn't think she'd bother with restraints if Lux was dead. Freya was a little scary the more he thought about it. She'd taken out a
ll the women at the camp in a short amount of time.

Freya stopped running and looked around. Before he could ask her why, she motioned him to move behind a clump of trees. He hated that he was basically useless when it came to fighting. Shouting erupted then chaos broke out. Ducking down, he fought with the collar. This damn thing was getting on his last nerve. If he survived this, he would make sure he learned how to fight. He felt so inadequate and hated that Freya had to risk herself just to protect and rescue him.

There was a loud crack near his head. Bash hunched down further as the blaster fire got closer. What could he do to help? He briefly contemplated trying to act as a distraction but didn't want to get recaptured. Eventually he stood up with a fist full of rocks with the idea he could throw them at anyone close. Except there was no one around. Cautiously, he stepped around a tree to see Freya hunched over one of the women.

She retrieved something from the woman then returned to him. "No luck?"

"No, I left the knife in the cabin. I think this collar is made with truilium."

Freya grinned, "Let me help you."

Her nose started to bleed as the collar fell off. Stunned, he picked it up and looked it over. It had been ripped in half, jagged tears in the wiring popped and sparked. There was no way it just fell off. A few minutes ago he'd uselessly tugged on it and it wouldn't budge. When he looked at her to ask, he didn't have time to catch her. She dropped to the ground unconscious.

  Chapter 9

  Safe House: Freya

Freya woke up with a start. Instantly she went into defense mode, but the room was empty. She looked around the familiar surroundings. How had she gotten back to the safe house? The last thing she remembered was something to do with the camp. She'd fought some women but couldn't remember exactly. Still filthy from the fighting, she headed into the private hygiene unit and had a fast shower. Fresh clothes later and she was ready to see Bash.
