I was sure of three things in this world.
My love for Marchand.
The Demon Master would be coming for him, sooner or later.
And I would never let him be taken—not while I was alive. We’d be ready, and my brother would forgive me and help us. My other brother and my cousins too. All the Gaudets would band together to fight such a monster as the Demon Master. It really couldn’t end any other way. After a hundred years, Darkness deserved a happily ever after, and I was going to make sure he got one.
