  Sins of the Mothers

  book four

I tell you what, folks, this girl can write! I do love this series, and maybe most especially this book. Mary Rachel Buckmeyer can out-negotiate the experts, out-guess marketing trends, and out-stubborn a mule. Trouble is, she tends to follow her heart into disaster. The guy she marries has meandering eye, lies like a braided rug, and has all the loyalty of a new-born pup. Mary hops from one frying pan to another until one man shows up who could steady her and get her out of the fixes she gets herself into. Such a great story! I know you'll love. --Anne Baxter Campbell, author The Truth Trilogy: The Roman’s Quest, Marcus Varitor, Centurion, and The Truth Doesn’t Die

Daughters of the Heart book five

A fun packed Christian romance novel with plenty of action, heartbreak, tears, deception, twists, and turns. [The three sisters] made a pact never to break their father’s heart, but when suitors show up, it's hard for them to stay determined. Will they find true love? Will Dad accept a suitor for them and give his blessings?

  --Joy Gibson, Tennessee reader

  Just Kin book six

I have followed this historical romance series from the beginning and they just keep getting better. Lacey Rose loves Charley and is devastated when he leaves to fight for Texas with the Confederate army. Charley doesn't realize Lacey Rose is in love with him but is both surprised and pleased with the goodbye kiss she gives him. After Charley sends a hurtful letter trying to discourage her from waiting for him, Lacey Rose runs away and ends up in all kinds of trouble. Charley also stirs up some trouble of his own when he begins looking for her. Don't miss out on this book. I loved it!

  At Liberty to Love

  book six

This was one of the best books I have ever read. The characters got so close to your heart you wish they were your family. From the beginning till the end you fell in love with each of them. The two adopted baby boys brought laughs and joy. The love story has strong Christian threads throughout. Highly recommend this book. You will love it.

  --Jane Moody, reader

  Covering Love book eight

I loved reading Covering Love, an amazing story filled with all the extended Buckmeyer's family with younger ones’ love story. Great plots for each character brought laughter and tears throughout. Six-year-old little Evelyn (Evie) reading May's story about Houston and Leilani’s adventure on the Gray Lady added a lovely perspective to this adventurous book filled with love, faith, determination, hard work, and romance. McAdoo's books must be read by those who enjoy historical romance that are filled with clean, heartfelt romance and the Gospel!!

  --Marilyn Ridgway, reader

  Mighty to Save book nine

Mighty to Save is one of the best books I've read, filled with characters who become friends. Emotions and all my senses were right there for the beatings, the tent revival scenes, the romance and heartache. Tears, praising, singing in the Spirit are throughout this magnificent, powerful, heartfelt, sensational story. Caryl McAdoo is one gifted author. Mighty to Save is going to be used for His glory.

  Chief of Sinners book ten

I believe this one is my favorite, the most gripping and emotional. A few times I wanted to grab a couple of tissues. I just could not stop reading. So many twists and turns involved. Such a wonderful story that show the power of forgiveness, letting go, moving on and having second chances. The book is full of faith and inspiration. Christian Fiction cannot get better than this. Chief of Sinners is most definitely a must read. 100 stars!

Companion Novels to Texas Romance Family Saga ~ ancestors and descendants of same characters

Son of Promise book two McAdoo brings a few characters from previous books. I loved the Texas history and the colloquialisms. A child born from a one-night stand when Travis Buckmeyer was an unmarried man is introduced. It takes the family a lot of faith in God and doing the right thing. It shows the love of God within can overcome all obstacles. Such a gentle story of faith, love, forgiveness, and yielding the sinful man to a higher power. --Judy Schexnayder

  Bipartisan Love book five

Was up most of the night reading Bipartisan Love , must say I couldn't put it down not even to sleep . Mrs. McAdoo , you are one gifted writer. You bring your characters to life as members of our family, and that you do with a caring hand. A Great read for any time day or night.

  John David’s Calling

(#4 of Texas Companion Books; Book 1, Revivalist Trilogy)

Revival, Pentecostal healing ministries as David is called from the staunch, sedate church of his grandfather who raised him to the Spirit-led ministry style of his father who wasn’t in his life much as a child. He’s torn between obeying God and devotion to his grandfather. In the mix is a schoolgirl he has his heart set on marrying. There are moments of crying, both for praising the Lord and the suffering of someone as well as several laugh out loud situations. A wonderful story of obeying God.

  --Cindy Nipper, an Oregon reader

  Hannah Claire’s Wilderness

(#5 of Texas Companion Books; Book 2, Revivalist Trilogy

The characters and storyline pulled me in from the very beginning and enthralled me. I found the story miraculous and realistic at the same time. Adaolisa adds an element of levity, sincerity, and faith second only to her father, David. The belief and faith in God flow throughout its pages. I loved Hannah following her husband. My favorite experience was when the parents arrived and Jocko, the monkey, exited the car with them. So if you want a book to make you laugh, cry, shake your head in amazement and more, check this book out for yourself.

  The Bedwarmer’s Son

  (#1 of Texas Companion Books)

I really loved this book…didn't want to put it down. I love the way it's different than most historical romance novels, and I read many. I loved the way the author used the old man to tell Jasmine's story. I also loved both Wills’ stories. Being a Christian novel just made it better. I enjoyed it so much I hated to see it end. This is the first novel I've ever read by this author, but I doubt it will be my last. --BJ Robinson, Author of River Oaks Plantation, Siege of Azalea Plantation, Azalea Plantation

  Jewel’s Gold

(#6 of Texas Companion Books; Book 4 in Gold Diggers Collection)

5-STARS! There is so much to love about this story. The Gold Rush, Adventure, Mystery, Sweet Romance, The Beautiful Alaskan Setting, and of course the characters Jewel and Boaz. Faith plays a large role in this story, which I like. It also has a strong theme of God’s forgiveness and redemption, without sounding preachy or being annoying. It was well done. This is a delightful read and will leave you craving more.

  Other Historicals

  Silent Harmony

(Book 2, Lockets & Lace Collection)

A sweet Christian historical romance that will warm the reader's heart. Set in the years following the American Civil War, people have lost so much, but the love of the Lord remains. McAdoo has created some delightful characters that took up residence in my soul. Grown sisters were realistically drawn with their sibling quibbles and their loyalty to each other. A perfectly delightful tale. --Julia Wilson, UK reader

  Uniquely Common

(Book 12, Lockets & Lace Collection)

A wonderful story, I could not put down! Caryl McAdoo writes with so much feeling and detail and in-depth development of characters, you feel you can see and travel with them! I loved the banter and the entire family. Asher's wife had passed away and the girls looked to Christina, so there was a lot of fun interaction as they played matchmaker. Be prepared to fall in love with this family and be left wanting Aster's story, because I know there has to be one!

  Bitter Honey

(Book 22, Lockets and Lace Collection)

The novel presents the generational element that exists in families. In a time when travel from Louisiana to California took many weeks and a lot of money; plans made in advance.

Family ties pull on the heartstrings of the characters. How hard to leave a family you cherish! But when love is at stake, the difficult decision crosses the line of comfort for a greater purpose. Caryl brings the themes of family, dreams, forgiveness, and purpose to the pages to stand as truths in God’s plan. –Marguerite Gray, author of the Revolutionary Faith Series: Hold Me Close, Bring Me Near

  Remi

  (Book 2, Prairie Roses Collection)

A great book written as a follow-up to Uniquely Common but can be read as a standalone. I loved reading about Remi’s wagon train journey west. I liked how the author showed the hardships people traveling went through. I also liked how she showed Remi’s inner struggle between her feelings for Asher and what she knew from watching her mother. Edwina’s story was a great one, also. I would recommend this book. --Susan Johnson, reader

  Lilah

  (Book 5, Prairie Roses Collection)

Caryl McAdoo has done it again, giving us a story rife with almost every human emotion imaginable. [It] deals with wagon train travel, death, revenge, abusive control, and desperation.   Texas My Texas book two

I really had a hard time putting this book down. Gabriellle's story was so intriguing, I just had to know if she's finally come to the right end. It took me less than a day to read, and an upset husband that I wouldn't go to sleep. All of Caryl McAdoo's books are well worth reading. Romantic, historical, and Christian.

  The Preacher’s Faith

This was my first book to read by Caryl McAdoo and I absolutely loved it. I will be reading more.

I love the way she prays that her story gives God Glory and dedicates The Preacher’s Faith to Him and His Kingdom…a good clean book to read.

  Sing a New Song

  book two

Sing a New Song is a delightful breath of air. Caryl eloquently brings her audience nearer to God [with] fresh ways of viewing Christian life and all it offers. The characters are loveable and humorous. Samuel’s sermons as well as the gorgeous lyrics of Mary Esther’s songs fill our hearts with newfound worship. Christian fiction in its best; a romantic love story that brings its readers closer to God. A treasure for sure. --Christine Barber, author of Broken to Pieces

  One and Done book three

Faster than a major league outfielder pulling down a popup fly ball, this romance is guaranteed to snag baseball lovers and romance readers alike. Written with wit, verve and Caryl’s usual flare for dialect and spicy dialogue, this is no saccharine, man-meets-woman story sanitized romantic fairytale, but so real in the mind, you can almost smell locker room sweat or mouthwatering scent of Mexican food. Identification with the hero and heroine is nearly immediate. With so much to rave about, I cannot begin to cover all the delightful surprises, so the reader simply must buy “One and Done” to see for themselves.

  Lady Luck’s a Loser

A very unique, witty plot. I couldn't put it down. I love that my favorite characters are still active at the end of the book, only their relationships have changed.

What a way for Dub to fulfill his promises to his deceased wife. Love, trust, forgiveness, and many emotions make for a well written book.

  --Joy Gibson, Tennessee

  The Generations Biblical fiction

A Little Lower Than the Angels volume one

Caryl McAdoo used her research and knowledge of biblical scripture combined with an incredible imagination as a foundation to fill in the gaps of the story of Adam and Eve and their children. I was caught up in the story from page one to the ending. I particularly appreciated the "Search the Scriptures" section at the end which explains some of the Biblical clues for this work of fiction. I loved it and highly recommend it. - Judy Levine, Arizona

  Then the Deluge Comes

  volume two

Deluge is the second book in The Generations Series, and if the books still to follow are as good as this one and the first one in the series are it is going to be an incredible series.

The author has a way of breathing life and emotions into the characters that made me feel like I was on the sidelines watching their stories unfold. This is some of the best Biblical fiction that I have read and I look forward to the rest of the series. I was furnished with an e-copy of the book for an honest review. --Ann Ellison, Texas

  Replenish the Earth Volume three

Caryl tells the story of the flood in such a unique way. I like how she makes the characters so real. This Bible story just comes to life. Noah's family on the Ark taking care of the animals and then when they come to a stop, starting all over on a barren earth. I found the family conversations, their actions, and the descriptions made this more real to me. I like that Caryl gives scriptures and her thoughts at the end of the book. --Deanna Stevens, Nebraska

  Children of Eber

  Volume four

So much of the tale remains faithful to the Scriptural account, but where there is silence, Caryl’s author voice sings through in delicious detail. For the reader familiar with the Biblical account, she fleshes out a mere paragraph or two until the narrative vibrates with life.

As if transported through a time machine, the reader reenters the world of the Ancients experiencing their lives and seeing their surroundings afr
esh. Those who know the Biblical account will delight in following the ancient pair into Egypt, then back to Canaan again.

  --Cass Wessel, devotional author

Caryl McAdoo makes scripture come alive in a very real, identifiable way in a fascinating account of one woman who changed history by her love for God and her choices. We can all relate to Abishag’s traits which makes the story so believable. Having studied Song of Solomon over a decade, I was delighted at the storyline that had such beauty and passion, intertwined with heartache and the reality of life. Full of mystery, intrigue and fervent love, I was caught up in the story, not wanting the end. --Vickie Cleveland, author of An Invitation into His Chambers...the Power of Intimacy with God
