The sun shone down on them in thick shafts bursting through the trees. It was warming up, but still cool—though he barely felt it with the fire burning between them.
“You feel so good inside me, daddy.”
Brody nipped at Chris’ neck and ear while he reached down to wrap his hand over his boy’s grip. He minutely tightened his hold, gauging the tightness and speed of the stroke Chris enjoyed. After a moment, he pushed Chris’ hand away and grasped his boy’s cock in hand.
“I can’t imagine being anywhere else but inside you,” Brody whispered against his lover’s ear as he stroked the man’s shaft.
With that, he moved. Short, gentle strokes eventually turned to long, quick thrusts. Control lost, he pounded into Chris’ welcoming body, eager to find his satisfaction. Chris’ hand came down over his stroking one, tightening the hold. He allowed Chris to educate him—what he wanted. What he needed.
The second Chris’ cum spread over his fingers, he broke. Coming into the condom, he roared his boy’s name to the trees surrounding them, wishing he had been bare. He wanted to mark this man.
As his.
They both breathed hard as they came down from the heavens. It was then that he realized how far his control had broken. Out in the chill April day, when he had a perfectly good, warm bed at home, he’d needed so desperately he’d taken Chris out where anyone could’ve ridden past.
But then, Chris had said he liked to be seen. A smile came to his face.
“That was amazing,” Brody whispered against Chris’ ear. “Too bad we didn’t have anyone to drive by and catch us.”
Chris gasped and stiffened against him. “Could they have?”
“Not many drive this road. But that doesn’t mean they don’t.”
Chris peeked over one shoulder, a devilish grin on his face. “Too bad they didn’t.”
Brody trembled against Chris, the image of them being caught almost causing another erection. After the night they’d had—and the morning shower scene—he was tapped out for a while. Slowly withdrawing from Chris’ body, he saw the wince of pain his boy displayed.
“You’re sore.”
Chris seemed sheepish. “Maybe a little.”
“We need to take a break for a night,” Brody murmured as he peeled off the condom that had fortunately remained intact. “I knew this was too much.”
“I didn’t care,” Chris said, pulling up his pants. “I wanted you to fuck me.”
“A good daddy is aware when his boy has been pushed too far.”
Chris turned to face him, a smile on his face. “Can I truly be your boy?”
Brody cupped Chris’ cheek, need and reality clashing in his mind. “Honestly? It’s been a day.” He cleared his throat, shocked at the connection he already sensed. So strongly, so quickly. “We barely know one another… we have no idea what tomorrow brings. One day at a time, hmm?”
“Okay,” Chris whispered, clearly appearing a bit disappointed.
Brody leaned in to press his lips against Chris’, wishing he could take that disappointment away. But he wouldn’t lie. Only the truth would lead them farther down the right path. “Let’s get you that bathing suit and get back to the club. We have a luau to prepare for.”
Chris smiled up at him. “Sure thing.”

Noah was quiet as they drove along. Hearing Brody scream out another man’s name again had gutted him—but that was his own damned fault. He hated lying. He hated not being upfront and honest with his daddy.
I need to tell him the truth.
Before it ruins everything.
Had things been different… had Brody not been the owner of the club he’d illegally entered with a fake ID… Ugh! Brody’s connection to the club made things ten times more difficult. And now the job? He likely couldn’t have it, considering he wasn’t twenty-one. He cast a glance at Brody in the driver’s seat, and his stomach turned.
If he told this amazing man the truth, it was probably over for them.
He had a safe, warm bed. A lover he desired and who desired him just as much. A daddy to show him a whole new world.
Noah didn’t want to let that go.
And if he lost it, where did he go from there?
Noah had no idea if his mother would welcome him into her home… and then where would he be? Out on the streets. He shivered a little.
“Cold? I can turn the heat up.”
“No… I’m okay,” Noah whispered, aware he was not okay.
Noah’s eyes widened not long after they hit an on-ramp onto an interstate highway. An exit later, he saw a large shopping mall and several shopping centers ahead. The places he’d seen prior had caused him to assume he was in another podunk town like the one he’d left, but that didn’t seem to be the case, at all. “Wow… I didn’t expect all this.”
“Yeah, we’re moving up in the world. The old town center died off after all this started cropping up. We’re not too far from Los Angeles and the more the suburbs spread, the more rural communities die off.”
“That’s sad.” Noah’s gaze took in all the sights. “I grew up a couple of hours away from a large city, so our main street did okay. We were far enough that people must’ve needed those small businesses. We didn’t go to the city often, and I don’t think most other folks did, either… but it was fun the few times we did. Oh, look! A P.F. Chang’s. I’ve always wanted to go to one. Maybe we can sometime?”
Noah knew there was an expiration date on their little romance, but he was going to pretend there wasn’t. One day at a time? Sure. One day could turn into a million and he’d be fine with that. Too bad that likely wouldn’t happen.
“Maybe not,” Brody replied.
Noah frowned. Had he overstepped? “Not good?”
Brody chuckled. “That guy you had a scuffle with last night? He works there.”
“Oh,” Noah said, wide-eyed and disheartened. “Maybe not, then.”
Brody smiled. “Maybe I can call and find a day he isn’t working.”
Noah smiled. “Really?”
“Sure.” Brody cast a peek toward Noah, and their eyes locked for a split second before he turned back to the road and smiled widely. “I can pop another cherry.”
Noah stared at Brody’s profile as he drove. He suddenly wanted all firsts, seconds, and thirds to be with his daddy.
What am I doing? I have to tell him the truth.
As the war waged inside him, they pulled off on the next exit and almost immediately turned into a Target parking lot.
“I know it’s a big-box store, but it’s the only place I can think of that might have a bathing suit. They usually start stocking them early.”
Target worked for Noah. He had limited funds, and that store was usually fairly priced, from the few times he’d been into one. They parked, entered, and he made a beeline for the men’s clothing section. Luckily, there was a display of board shorts near the front. He started peering through them.
Brody sidled up beside him. “Wrong bathing suits.”
Noah glanced up at him with a frown. “What?”
Brody moved to another rack that was filled with tiny little Speedo-type suits. He lifted a bright blue pair. “How about these?”
“You want me to wear those?” Noah walked over and removed them from Brody’s hand. “In public?”
Brody leaned his head closer to Noah’s ear. “This coming from the guy who wanted to be caught with my dick up his ass.”
Noah’s face flamed. “Yeah… but that’s different.”
“How?”
Noah eyed the tiny bathing suit. “I don’t know… It just is.” The thought of wearing next to nothing while working at the bar had him a bit discombobulated. He’d be a piece of meat. A sudden smile came to his lips, and he grabbed it and checked the size. “This one’s too small.” He fished through the suits and found one in his. “This one should do.”
“Oh, now you’re going to wear it?”
Noah eyed Brody. “If you
re fine with showing your boy’s body to the whole world, then I guess I’ll have to be okay with it, too. Don’t get mad when they treat me like a piece of meat.”
Brody’s smile faded. “Maybe we should go with the board shorts.”
“No, no… you wanted a bikini, so you get a bikini.” He headed for the cash registers.
Brody grabbed his arm to stop him. An evil smile stretched his handsome face. “Fine. But if you truly want to be a piece of meat, you should get this one.” He lifted up a smaller version of what Noah had in his hand.
“That’ll barely cover my ass cheeks.”
“Exactly,” Brody answered devilishly. He snatched the pair from Noah’s hand and tossed over the new itty-bitty bikini. “Let’s show off that piece of meat properly.”
His bluff seen through, Noah lifted his chin in an attempt not to appear thwarted. “Fine.”
Brody’s smug smile almost caused him to laugh.
“While we’re here, do you need anything else?”
Everything, Noah thought to himself. “Nah. I’m good.”
“How many pairs of underwear do you have? Socks? T-shirts? Toiletries?”
Noah shrugged. “Enough for now.”
Brody shook his head. “Come on… let’s get you some basics. So you don’t have to wash clothes every other day.”
“Later. After I work for a while, then I can get that stuff.”
Brody took a step closer, closing the gap. “Daddies take care of their boys.”
Noah swallowed thickly. Guilt assailed him. “We have no idea where this is leading. You said so yourself.”
“Everything you own in the world fits into a small duffel. I want to help you.”
Noah eyed him, the guilt swamping him. He sensed if he fought Brody, it might not end well. Eventually, he’d have to buy a few things anyway. “Only if you let me repay you once I get working.”
“Nope.” Brody lifted his chin arrogantly.
Noah shook his head. “I don’t need your charity.”
“You recently left a bad situation. You need some stuff. Basics. After you get working, you can take care of all the extras you want, okay?”
Noah nodded. He didn’t like it, but at the same time, he appreciated Brody’s consideration. He didn’t deserve it, but he appreciated it nonetheless. “Okay. But not a lot.”
Brody’s lips twitched into a smile. “Okay.”
An hour later, their cart was loaded with two packs of socks, a few t-shirts, a couple pairs of sweatpants, a pack of briefs, two pairs of jeans, a pair of Chucks, and some toiletries. On the way to the registers, Brody paused beside a rack of ladies lingerie. Brightly colored rows of lace panties and bras went on for several feet.
“How about some of these?”
Noah shook his head. He’d tried a pair years before, and they hadn’t been comfortable. He’d worn them, regardless. Luckily, he’d found a site that catered to men. Saved up Christmas and birthday money had paid for that red lace plus shipping and handling. “Those aren’t made for men. There’s no room for a cock and balls.”
“Ahh,” Brody said. “Where did you find yours?”
“I ordered them online. Well, my friend ordered them for me to protect me. I didn’t want anyone finding them.”
“Your ex didn’t like them?” Brody asked.
Guilt slammed into Noah. It was becoming almost impossible to continue the farce. “Nope.”
“He wasn’t aware of what he was missing.”
Noah eyed Brody, feeling like shit.
“Maybe you’ll let me order you a few pair from the site you like.”
“No… you’re already doing too much.”
“Hey, they’re as much for me as you,” Brody said. “I get to enjoy you wearing them.”
Noah forced a smile. “I suppose when you put it that way.”
Brody moved on happily pushing the cart to the register. Noah paused a moment, shoulders tightening up. His stomach knotted, and he wished he had the balls to speak up. When Brody glanced over one shoulder and nearly caught him moping, he flashed another smile and caught up with his daddy.
Once they returned, he and Brody headed for the club to set up the decorations. When they got there, the bouncer, Lex, and a few other employees had already started. Two huge blow-up palm trees stood in the middle of the club and a guy was blowing up a third. Grass skirting was being tacked to the walls by two others. Lex was blowing up beach balls.
Brody quickly introduced him to the lot of them – Carter, the manager, Phoebe, one of the servers, Stef, another server, and Quincey, one of the bartenders. “And you’ve already met Lex.”
Lex eyed Brody and then Noah. “One night, hmm?”
Noah winced slightly. “Plans changed?”
Lex chuckled before muttering something about “little bird.”
“Don’t mind Lex,” Brody said. “He’s a smartass who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
“I believe I know exactly what I’m talking about,” Lex replied to Brody, brow raised in defiance.
“Stuff it, Lex.”
Lex sized him up before chuckling under his breath and shaking his head while walking back to the beach balls he’d been blowing up. Noah sensed he was an outsider to a personal conversation that might be about him.
“You guys okay?” Noah whispered.
“Yep,” Brody murmured.
“That was about me, right? Have I overstayed my welcome already?”
Brody grasped his shoulders by the hands and forced his focus. “You absolutely have not. I don’t usually have… friends… stay more than overnight. Lex was only giving me shit because he called it.”
“He called it? Me staying for more than one night?”
Brody smiled self-consciously. “Yeah.”
Noah released a pent-up breath. The war within raged even harder. He opened his mouth to tell Brody the whole truth—but Carter walked over to ask a quick question of Brody—and his nerve was lost.
“Let’s get to work, hmm?” Brody asked with a grin.
“Yeah,” Noah said, forcing a smile. He glanced to the side and saw Lex observing him with an odd look on his face. Fuck.
Noah jumped in and helped put up the decorations, trying to ignore Lex’s stares. When he started stapling the grass skirt along the edge of the stage, as instructed, Lex came over to help him and he couldn’t avoid the man any longer.
They worked, mostly silent, for a few minutes. When he knelt to staple around some of the electrical wiring for the stage, he winced. He’d been well used over the past twenty-four hours or so.
“What’s wrong?”
Heat filled Noah’s face. “Nothing.”
He kept tacking the skirts up… and when he rose, he winced again.
Lex left him, thankfully, without any more questions. But he returned a few moments later, brandishing a tube. He handed it to Noah. “This will help.”
Noah took the tube and eyed it. Rectiv? “What’s this?”
“A prescription medicine for that little problem you’re having.”
Noah’s face burned.
“No need to be ashamed. You got a good dicking yesterday and now you’re sore. This will magically make things all better… but you should probably keep to blowing him tonight and give your ass a rest.” Lex tapped the tube with his finger. “A little rubbed up there every twelve hours until it feels better.”
Noah sighed, trying to hide his utter mortification. “Thanks.”
Lex nodded. “So… what was that expression you had when Brody wasn’t looking?”
“An expression? What expression?”
“The guilty one.”
Noah froze. “Guilty? Who’s guilty?”
Lex’s eyes narrowed. “Umm-hmmm… okay.” He grabbed the stapler Noah had been working with. “I’ve already warned you. I’ll be watching you closely, little boy.”
Once the man walked away, Noah drew in a shaky breath. He pocketed the tube and got back to work
, his mind spinning.
The truth would destroy whatever chances they had. The lies would, too.
What in the hell was he supposed to do?
Jimmy Buffett played over the sound system as Brody poured another beer from the tap, but since it was luau night, the vibe was quieter. No blaring dance music. It was a chill party where mostly regulars congregated and talked to one another. He handed the drink off absentmindedly to his server. His stare was once again held captive by Chris and his barely there attire. The bottoms of both globes hung out from the bikini, showing the world how gorgeous his boy was. Jealousy flared up when he saw other men staring at what was his—and he hated it.
Chris had been absolutely right. He was being treated like a piece of meat. Brody had already witnessed a couple of ass pats and pinches as his boy made runs from the back to the bar, bringing up cases or trays of fresh glasses. It had caused his insides to churn and his fists to clench.
Excusing himself from the bar, he took a lap around, checking service and more importantly, checking out Chris. He only wore the tiny bikini, a flower lei, and a pair of Chucks—flip-flops were more appropriate for the attire, but not safe when running back and forth.
Other than the straying hands, the night was good. Chris was a quick study and a hard worker. He was doing an outstanding job for his first night.
“That boy is hiding something.”
Brody gazed to his side to see Lex standing there. “Not much in that bathing suit.”
“Joke, if you must, but you didn’t see the look on his face earlier. He’s hiding something, and you’d better find out before it blows up in your face.”
“Oh come on,” Brody said. “He’s just left a terrible situation. One he’s not really shared with me. That’s likely all it is.”
“What of this ex? He dangerous? Could he come after Chris and you get hurt in the process?”
Brody frowned. He hadn’t really imagined that possibility. He should have. “Chris said he never told anyone where he was going. Not even the relative he has here.”
